Yes, I agree the only thing missing is the time spent. Considering this took two separate videos I am guessing at least 16 hours or two days. It is a huge job and expensive if someone else does it for a reason. Amazing job.
@@chrisfix No, thank you! I am a bit of an amateur car enthusiast who just moved to another country so there's not many people I can ask for assistance around here. When I need to do some repairs on my vehicles, I ALWAYS first come to your channel as it us by far the best (in quality and content). You have saved me heaps of time, money and frustration. Luckily I do have an extra vehicle so time isn't that much of an issue but think it will be extremely valuable to have a rough idea of time so my wife don't get pissy when I tell her it's a 30min job and then only emerging from the garage after many days? Weeks? Months? Oh shit, it's been 4.5 months, gotta go, cheers! And thank you!
Tyler Rough estimates don’t really work well. I’ve done work that was estimated to take the whole day in half that and other times where it was supposed to take an hour or two takes half a day. It’s all up in the air really and for some reason customers get frustrated when it’s out of your control. Shit sucks.
Hey Chris, I just wanted to say thank for all the time and money you put into your videos. You have taught me so much and saved me money. Your videos are always high quality and very descriptive. You have helped many people.

I just wanted to reach out and tell you how awesome you and your videos are for Diys. Being a female , mechanical skills normally are not on my resume but repairs are so expensive I have learned to do many of them myself and finding a video that breaks it down well enough for this to be done is more times than not very difficult , and leads to many trips to the library or hours of searching on line with taking bits and pieces from each source and tackling the job. Your videos always break it down to where I can understand it and you show every step many times I will search your videos and I do it with your video kinda like we’re doing them together like hands on lol. Like the clutch video , it saved me hundreds of dollars and hours of stressful searching. Thank you so much and don’t stop teaching guy it is your calling. .

Ill be uploading a new video every Saturday.
Seen it done with a rag also. All it has to do is stop the grease from squirting out around your tool - that way, the only place for it to go is behind the bearing.
_Usually_ less mess, but harder to get a good seal sometimes, especially if the cloth is too thick. Remember that it has to fit between the inside of the bushing and the outside of your pushing tool without too much friction, or you'll just wedge it all inside the bushing - but without too much extra room or it just won't work. But it's an option if you don't have bread handy. :-)

Greetings from South Africa. This video is helping me so much! My Project car and dream car is my turbo charged FZ-FE 4.5L Straight 6 Petrol Toyota land cruiser pickup. I bought it with 400 000+ km on the clock and believe it or not, the rear main seal went. The clutch was already worn down some and with the extra oil flinging around, I ended up burning the clutch. Pressure plate was also bent from the heat. Flywheel was saved with a resurface. Got the parts, followed your instructions and I am almost there. takes a bit longer in between all the other stuff of life, but as soon as it's up and running I will send you some photos and videos. Thanks again for making great videos. Keep at it. I just love watching your videos, can't stop. PS the gearbox on my pickup is F***** heavy. PSPS, the bread works great!

I have a 02 Camry, 2.4 ,high mileage, 5 speed. Have to replace clutch, still use it carefully. I am disabled, I don't have the equipment (what little tools I had were stolen)to do it as I see you do which is fine. I have the parts, just need the rear engine seal. A mechanic was going to work on it, am about 25 miles from Houston. A veteran(as this Veteran referred me to this mechanic, which doesn't call him with updates on car,)friend went to this mechanic for his 07 Infiniti, been there a month so far with this mechanic, though on mine, $ it be workable, now, I don't know where to go, as honest mechanics are rare. Other mechanics/shops are outrageously expensive. I don't have the financial means to do it other than pay it out. That's the main repair I need. You have good videos, easy for me to understand. So I'm praying and looking. So Praise the Lord Jesus. Thanks. Have a blessed day

I installed the clutch plate with the alignment tool, picked up the pressure plate from the floor and as I stood back up the falling clutch plate struck the bridge of my nose while on its way to the floor, where it was chipped against the concrete. Live and learn!
As always, thank you for sharing and stay safe!
ChrisFix your videos are beyond professional T.V. grade quality. I can't believe how much time and effort you put into making them. They are TOP notch!!
Do you think you could start adding in a ROUGH estimated time needed for the jobs (ex. 4-6hrs, 1 day, a whole weekend, etc)?
Yes, I agree the only thing missing is the time spent. Considering this took two separate videos I am guessing at least 16 hours or two days. It is a huge job and expensive if someone else does it for a reason. Amazing job.
Thanks a lot!

Rough estimates don’t really work well. I’ve done work that was estimated to take the whole day in half that and other times where it was supposed to take an hour or two takes half a day. It’s all up in the air really and for some reason customers get frustrated when it’s out of your control. Shit sucks.
It would also be nice to put an estimate on how my you could spend on replacing the parts

Thank you so much and don’t stop teaching guy it is your calling. .

When he started pouring bread in that seal, I was like, "wait a minute, it's not April 1st, is it?"
But it all makes sense
Seen it done with a rag also. All it has to do is stop the grease from squirting out around your tool - that way, the only place for it to go is behind the bearing.
A bar of soap also works
Rag is less malleable, so might be able to do it sooner, and without quite the mess. @@aussiebloke609
I did say "without quite the mess", not "without any mess", for a reason. ;P@@aussiebloke609

Bro, you should do a ( how to change a automatic transmission) because some people have auto cars and want to change there transmission.
It's the same process, just minus the clutch components.. But, I agree.
william vaughn what about cvt transmissions ?
it is not easy, you need to get a new computer and do a whole bunch of more things. Most people who do it once, never do it again.
How to change an automatic transmission: Swap it for a manual.
If not the whole auto trans, how about a video on replacing the torque converter. Basically the clutch for an auto...?

You can also do this with bar soap (Irish Spring) and a socket. Less messy and you get the smell of soap to boot!
silverperzon nice! Another trick for the arsenal...I love the smell of original Irish spring soap too, so that’s an even bigger plus. Thanks for the tip.
I use a Wooden dowel from hardware store then is slightly oversized sand it until you get a nice tight fit and the pilot bearing will normally Pop out the first time
