I have always, always been a fan of the classic five spoke design that is on the 6 cylinder, but I don't like the fact that they are 20 inch. 19 inches is my max because I want substantial tires on my vehicle. For those of you wondering the 2.5T RWD gets 23 city 32 Hwy Add AWD that drops to 22 city 30 Hwy 3.5TT RWD is 19 city 27 Hwy Add AWD and that drops 1 on both sides
@@Kwaminho for a pretty hefty sedan, it's relatively efficient. With a light foot, ecomode, and easy driving, you can easy surpass that hwy rating. So I think Hyundai did a fantastic job on the new G80. May not be a car segment for me yet, but this will fit the bill for those looking for luxury without a European price tag

@@IReahpZz no that sounds about right he cant get in deactivation mode when he’s constantly mashing on the pedal. You have to be cruising at constant speed. So 25 mpg for the way he drives is pretty good .
I will never buy another Kia. Period. We contacted the Kia Corporate office to help with an issue we had after our car broke down on the side of the interstate 2 times after being serviced at 2 different Kia dealerships, Langdale Kia in Valdosta and Crown Kia in Saint Petersburg. Kia Corporate gave us the run around, telling us they would send our service request upper management to have it approved. After 3 weeks, they finally told us that no our car wasn’t under warranty! What?! It’s like they didn’t even read what we submitted. Kia doesn’t know how to fix their own vehicles and doesn’t care if they break down multiple times. This has been a horrible

I had the new G80 as loaner while my G70's concierge service. It was a loaded 2.5T. It's a really really smooth car... Yea it wasn't as violent as my 3.3T but damn... it still hustled and... my back was happy.
@@ihatehandles3 it’s Infiniti, not Infinity. And yes. All three dropped their mid sized luxury cars. The Acura RL, Infiniti Q70 and Lexus GS. Instead of making the their cars more modern they let their cars age and eventually dropped them. The Genesis G80 would be their direct competitors but they don’t exist anymore. So it’s only right that they’ll take notice of the kid on the block.

It’s beyond me why the RX sells so well. Reliability only goes so far. Acura is doing a good job at attracting younger buyers and making their cars more fun to drive. But they waited so long to do it. I don’t think that Genesis will overtake Lexus but I do think they will steal a lot of their car and SUV sales. I think the GV80 will be their best seller. All Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti’s crossover SUVs are FWD based. Boring soccer mom vehicles. Infiniti still insists on using a CVT in its crossovers. It’s unreliable and boring to drive. The only real competition the GV80 will have from Japan is the upcoming Acura MDX Type S with SHAWD.

I have seen the new G80 (pre-production) in person at the local dealer special event. I am a proud owner of 2009 Genesis Sedan V6 as well as 2015 Genesis V8. I can say the new one is a major step up from the inside. I am looking forward to test driving a new G80 when it is available.
This is my 3d G80and I've had it for almost 5 months. Up till now the G80s have been a reasonable substitute for a Jaguar XJ at a lower price. I say up till now because my prior two G80s had a much better build quality then my new 2021 G80 prestige does. It's interior beauty is only skin deep. It's cheaply made with recycled plastic parts that go snap, crackle and pop like a bowl of rice crispiest on steroids. The drivetrain is far inferior to the prior car and the car shakes and shudders like a tractor when the engine starts and shuts down. The car hit's the brakes on it's own when uncalled for and the car gets unstable because of it. It can be scary at times. I have a coupe of female friends who wont ride in the car after it did some wacky things, which is a shame because it should be a babe magnet. The worst part is that the dealership is clueless on how to fix it, and Genesis corporate is not providing any assistance. In fact I have been trying for 5 weeks now to get a meeting with a factory Engineer with the car at the same time. Customer support is unable to make that happen, in fact their policies seem to be oriented towards delaying customer satisfaction over facilitation. There seems to be no concern over the fact that this car is unsafe. It's sad because I adored my 2 prior G80s and was a huge advocate for the brand. Now I'm just bitter at how badly they treat a high end customer because their overall frame of reference is a $21K Tuscon.
100% correct answer. You know how the invention of some things were so incredible, and ended up being life changingly positive? Well, start-stop is the exact opposite of those things. It needlessly tears up your car quickly. If there isn't the ability to turn it off in a car, then I won't buy that car.
Audi calls the sloping C-Pillar a “sport back”. After recruiting the guys from Audi, I can see some A7 styling cues. Also, the gauge cluster shape reminds me of 2015-2017 A4/Q5/SQ5, etc.
I agree with then AST 2 posts from the last 2 brothers. I like the wheels on the car. I actually like the car itself. I’m pleased with the car on a whole. Hyundai did a food job rebranding this car and putting the G80 in a class of its own. Good size, good amenities, nicely styled for the price tag.
In addition to the G80 and the N-Line Sonata, the 2.5L turbo is also found in the GV80, the KIA K5 GT, and is the optional higher performance engine in the 2021 Sorento. With a family of three, a big dog who nearly always occupies the back seat and a daughter who's off to college in a couple of years I won't be rushing out to buy a new Genesis. But the fact that the Hyundai/Kia/Genesis conglomerate is prepared to stand behind the durability of the 2.5L turbo 4 with the best warranty in the business even in a couple of midsize crossovers says a lot.
Soften, I understand people's taste in aesthetics differs and everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but ...IMHO those wheels actually look really good on the car. The only knock I'd have is that they'll likely be difficult to clean. Maybe you should just acknowledge that the look of certain design elements like a wheel set may not have universal appeal. It comes off a bit offensive otherwise.
This is a Full-Size sedan, it’s got more than 120 Cubic FT of interior volume. What’s not a full-size sedan in the Lexus LS and never has been, it’s always been about 5-10 CBFT short.
The single most interesting feature on the new G80 and GV80 is the AR Navigation. Seen them on the Korean model. But NONE of the US journalists show any of it. Is there an agreement with Genesis or something? How could everyone miss this key feature?

That 2.5t engine in the Sonata/K5 will be a beast. I just finished reading C & D review on the Genesis G80 2.5t, and it steamrolled the Acura TLX almost in all metrics despite being larger than that car.
I just got this car in the 2.5 amazing, test drove BMW 5, Mercedes e and the Lexus ES. This was so much nicer and bonus 10 grand cheaper. Love my spider web rims
Ok let me rephrase, this trim will be the volume seller for this genesis model as in more people will buy this trim over the 3.5t. That’s how it always is with vehicles, people buy the base model more than the higher trim level.
I like to drive a long way between fill ups. Why is the 4 cylinder’s gas tank smaller than the 6? I drove a prestige yesterday and sat in an advance... I found the seat cushion on the advance too short Lane centering was incredible

Gosh those wheels are pain to clean. These are even worse than cleaning Lexus multi-spoke wheels
All they needed was the awesome gold color. The g90 has retro wheels, too.
