As a sparky I stay away from boilers but needed to pressurise the same boiler as bought and only moved in yesterday. So obviously needed a shower after bumping and dumping boxes all day for the past 3days.
Thanks a million saved me calling out a plumber.

This guy serviced my boiler several times he even cut me a length of copper to use as a guitar slide. He worked for a company that my housing association used. I’d often see him around going in or out his van and he’d give a warm hello and a funny quip. I hadn’t seen him for a while and I asked another engineer doing the service and he informed me that Pat had died suddenly of a brain haemorrhage a few months earlier. What a shame nice guy. He was only in his early 50’s. He left an adult son.

Would've been nice to see which way those valves are meant to move. Mine are stuck in place and they're weird because they look like they should tilt and not turn. It's nothing like any previous boiler I've ever used with quarter turn taps (this new boiler is a baxi and I just fitted a radiator back on)

Hi pat hoping to ask a question , I have over a month to wait on a new boiler being installed in the meantime have a very young baby so need to access hot water and heat the home, had some issues and repairs with my potterton last couple of years. ATM the pressure gauge sits too high And the only way I can have it operating and remaining at a safe level of 2.5 is too run the hot water otherwise it rises above 3 towards 4 which I know isnt good dont want to blow the valve . I Am wondering what the cause could be as renovating could it have anything to do with the cold water feed which I think is located in the attic or a underfloor/ground leak atall ? Since it's an old bought property I dont have access to free plumber and my Britrish Gas policy only covered one repair, the temp valve had blown before and caused a leak internally of which I was unaware for a good while its corroded internally the shelf I ask incase theres maybe major work needing done due to CVOID none of the government teams like warmworks work during this time so my concern is safely, If I keep the hot water flowing at quite a strong flow I can keep the pressure down just enough to operate the heating , but I only have it on for short but clearly I am cautious and sceptical about even attempting to operate it but have to heat the house and get some hot water can you advise pofterron for over ten years do you think this sounds like a more external issue than the boiler itself , ? Thank I hope you can and dont mind replying to advise so I can be prepared to expect to pay alot more towards the plumbing , Thanks Julie West lothian

    Hi
    I have the same boiler.
My issue, boiler is on first floor when shower is on, on the second floor the shower in the basement goes cold this did not happen before untill my pipes froze wen i was on holiday and someone altered the settings underneath the boiler i think.
Don't understand why the shower in basement goes cold the pressure is reading 1.5 bar.
    Rads work fine
    Hot water pressure is fine.
    Can you help me out?
    Thanks
