Thanks for all the videos Fedor! I love that you do so much with Voxelab and the Aquila. I have the original Aquila I bought back in May, which is my first 3D printer (although as I work in tech, I have had a huge exposure to them through my friends, etc.) 3D printers finally hit the useful vs pricepoint, and then the added fact that I now WFH, that I can run it while I work, and have LOVED the newfound hobby. Anyways, one thing I find slightly amusing is the comments about all of them have fan issues, etc. I don't know if I am just lucky but I'm still running stock fans, and I've had this since May, with over 200 prints, and have had weeks were I've been running it constantly without any fan issues (yes they're noisy but not enough that I've cared to make it a priority update yet.) I've printed the bullseye hotend setup with stock fans, and then upgrade the springs, capricorn tubing, PTFE tube fittings and extruder to metal (from a $12 kit) and that's about it. I barely even bother to check/re-level it or anything anymore. I just find or create something, slice a few times to determine how I want it, an send it off to Octopi to print. Including 2W straight of near 24x7 prints for halloween. :) I even bought a BL touch a month or two ago, and I just haven't gotten around to installing it yet.....plan to start printing the vertical mount, upgrading to the Alex firmware (for thermal runaway protection and more features,) and then probably install it then. Anyway keep up the good work.

Solid machine. Anything you can do to a stock Ender 3, you can do to this. Only downside is the H32 board. However, there is a current beta of JuersUI you can try. Although you might have to recompile it without the Original Aquila screen.

Great video Fedor. Like you I was hoping for a pro version of the Aquila. This is like a cheap pro version of the ender 3. I have been having a time explaning to noobs what reliability means compared to repeatability on the facebook groups. Some are making fun of those who want to upgrade their machines and make them more of both.Saying there is no point in upgrading as the machine is reliable out of the box, and it isn't for the known reasons you stated here. Which is where I send all the noobs to get the answers they are looking for regarding the Aquila. Happy printing my brother.

The key here is the price, a frame that is solid, the base upgrade, all the fans and fixing the tin wiring I personally think should be the first two upgrade cost is minimum. After that the filament runout sensor. The extruder and pfft tubing upgrade I think should be the last upgrade the cost for them is a small cost unless you go with. Even on my high price Cr-6 SE I replaced my extruder and pfft tubing, I however would look for the X2 on sell and buy it.

from that list, the X2 is going to give you a silent 32-bit board and color screen. That gives it the edge for sure. otherwise, their end performance is identical. so it comes down to if the machine being quiet is important to you. like if it’s going to be in your room, where you sleep, 100% get the X2. if it’ll be in a basement or something like that, get which ever is cheaper.

Original has silent steppers and a better screen. It’s not that it’s bad, it just has less features.

@@3DPrintSOS i have an issue with the travel between one spot to another, it goes very fast and leaves the lifted leftover from pla and then nozzle hooks onto it and destroys, removes entire print, makes a mess. I like aquila better than aquila c2. Any other reccomendation for 3d printer under 3oo? I also wonder if aquila can do the Z hop that Cura has option to do

    • @3DPrintSOS

They can all do z hop, for sure. Sounds like you’re getting some curling which is a cooling issue. You can slack turn down the travel in Cura so it’s not so fast.

@@3DPrintSOS First, I would like it to be truly open source, so that Alex could create firmware for it. If that doesn't happen, I would like to see the BLTouch firmware that actually works correctly. If that doesn't happen, standard firmware that will accept post script extensions from Cura. I currently can't use my BLTouch or use the filament change post script. I was also wanting to get Octoprint. But, I've read that the H32 doesn't play well with that either.

@@3DPrintSOS As far as I know, some functionality from latest Marlin will not show up on the original Aquila's screen.
Overall, seems perfect for me since I will swap the board and upgrade to direct drive anyway. Better than original Ender 3 since I do not want to deal with stupid exhaust location for the board's fan.
      Some questions:
      1) Is the PSU thick like on Ender 3? Those Meanwells are more high-end, but they're slim, thus worse cooling/louder noise.
      2) What about the part that carries the extruder? Is it the same as Aquilla's or Ender's or do I need to adjust the printed head's design?
      3) Is there a smaller motor like the one on Aquilla's X axis? I need a small one for direct drive.
      4) If it is small, do you know if something is press-fited on the shaft?
