Your videos are so helpful. I am currently a nursing student who is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life post undergrad-graduation. Your videos provide me with some priceless insight and information. Thank you!!
I loved this video. Very thorough. I am just starting my journey. I am working on my prereqs as well as starting medical assisting school in January to help get me in the field that way I can learn the field while I am in school for my prereqs and nursing. Thanks for the video.
It sounds like you have a solid plan Summer! I think it is a great idea to get a job as a MA while you pursue your education further. That will give you great hands on experience 😊
This is awesome advice and your path sounds so similar to mine. I did not take my first few years of school seriously and it shows on my transcripts. That is a constant reminder now to make sure my current school work is stellar!
Thank you for the salary transparency. I’m the weirdo that LOVES to talk about money - the how, the what, the energy exchange between it, the investments, what you can do with money…all of it. As a CRNA hopeful this is reassuring that all of the hard work is worth it. To have that financial freedom, be able to contribute to philanthropy, save money, invest it, and of course travel - lets me know that this CRNA path will all be worth it.
Thank you so much for all the information! Can you make a video on travel nursing (such as how to get a travel nursing job, tips in travel nursing etc)?
I am ao happy I found your channel! I am going into nursing school next fall. I would like to know more about your experience in nursing school! Are there any helpful studying tips you could share? Thank you!
That's exciting and good you have some time to prepare! My biggest tips are stay organized and stay ahead. Stress usually comes from getting behind because once you do it's hard to catch up.
I did the same when I was just starting out at 17 and I had many friends the same age with similar stories. I feel like society shouldn’t push young teens so hard straight into college. Cuz it seems like a lot of us aren’t really ready for it.
Yes and thank you for saying that! I was actually worried that I went to in detail about it in this video 😅. I'll do a video about my application including essay and other paperwork that was included!
Rhianna Ferial Hi Rihanna! I loved every single one of your video that I have watched! I’m a nursing student in Canada and have plans to do travel nursing in the States after I graduate and maybe go for CRNA in the states as there is currently no CRNA program here in the North:(.... so finding and exploring your channel is like a gift for me!!! Thank you for sharing your experiences and Keep up the good work🥰🥰🥰I might be lost here but I was just wondering have you made a video regarding your CRNA essays? And what references did you use when applying?? 😊
I’m a senior in HS and it’s my dream to become a CRNA. Even tho it’s still years away I hope to achieve my dream. Hearing your story inspires me. And I hope to become as successful as you are.
Can you do a video on how you improved your study habits? I know it's different for everyone but it helps to see your progress in finding your A study method! Thanks
This sounds just like me...😭😭 I'm now retaking a few classes to finally get into nursing school. P.s thank you for your channel. It's very inspirational and motivating.
I went into nursing wanting to be a NP. As a new grad I wasn’t able to get a job in any ICUS so I started on a medsurg floor for about a year. After that I tried applying a few ICUS again but they wouldn’t take me because I didn’t have acute care experience. I ended up applying to the ER to see if they would take me and to my surprise they did. I ended up liking the ER and I decided to peruse a degree in ACNP to hopefully work in the ED, urgent care, or really just any acute setting. I’m currently 1 year into my ACNP program and I’m starting experience concerns if I made the wrong career choice mainly because in Florida NP is a saturated degree. It’s hard to get a job as an new grad NP because everyone wants you to have experience and I hear the starting pay is $50/hr. So I’ve thought about quitting my program and starting all over. Applying to the ICU, taking my GRE, CCRN and maybe bio/organic chem. But the thought of doing all that put my mind in distress because I’m 27 now and it seems like such a long ride just to apply. 😩 I also struggle in math so I know I’m going to need a tutor to do well on the math portion of the GRE . You did it the right way.
Hi Rhianna! Really enjoying your videos and finding them helpful. I started my nursing career in my current job, working in a cardiovascular ICU in a large hospital. I'm hoping to apply to CRNA school next year after I get about a year and a half years of experience. Still trying to learn more about the career and what it would be like. Can you tell me what you like about it so far?
Hi Hyun! So glad to hear you find them helpful. It sounds like you are in a great unit for your ICU experience. Have you shadowed a CRNA yet? I found shadowing extremely beneficial because I got to see exactly what CRNAs do. Things I love about it: the amount of stuff I am learning, managing patients throughout complex cases, growing as a nurse, learning to work autonomously, following patients (through pre-op, surgery and post-op), responding to codes/traumas, seeing different stuff every day and being around motivated people!
First of all, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for taking the time to be open and using yourself as an example, you have just given me so much hope, that I'm crying. So my question is, did they say what kind of science classes to take to make your application stronger? What do they consider higher up classes?... Subscribed! :-)
You're welcome and thank you for the positive feedback! This is exactly what they said in the email "The Admissions Committee recommends that you take two science courses at the graduate level to demonstrate your academic ability." I found that most schools liked ochem, physics and biochem as the advanced sciences.
Im a recently graduated nurse with a bsn with a 3.4 overall gpa. Will they look at my gpa throughout my 4 years at university or only my gpa throughout the nursing program (last 2 yrs)
They will look at all of it but if your grades have improved over time they will see that as well. A 3.4 is a good gpa. They pay special attention to nursing and science classes.
Liked and subscribed! I’m an ADN nurse in the OR with a similar academic background (3.0gpa). Working as a circulating nurse has been a great start to my nursing career but I know I’ll want to challenge myself in the years to come. There’s few videos online about CRNA’s so I appreciate this video. I find it encouraging knowing that it’s possible to become a CRNA from our starting points. My next goal is BSN and so forth to CRNA
Would a grade in nursing pre-reqs be a major concern? I got all As and Bs except a C in micro Lab. Would that affect my applications, and if so, should I retake it?
If you are interested in a certain school I would recommend you call or email them and ask what they suggest. If you aren't sure what school you want to attend I would suggest you take 1 or 2 more advanced science courses like O chem, biochem or physics and ace them to show you can excel in them. Those classes would be more helpful in crna school than micro.
Also wanted to add that if you are trying to apply to crna school asap I would go ahead and apply versus putting it off while you take classes. Since you did well in everything else and micro was an outlier they may consider that. Worst that can happen is they give you constructive feedback.
I just came across your channel and after watching this video I subscribed almost immediately lol! I am currently applying to a nursing program at a two year community college, which also happens to have a coenrollment program in place that allows students in the nursing program to get their bachelors degree at the same time. My ultimate goal is to also become a CRNA, so I was just wondering what you would suggest as to what I should do following passing the NCLEX and getting my bachelors degree or if there is anything I should be doing while in nursing school?
Hello Rihanna, I love your story! I am in my 2nd year of nursing school in Canada and I hope to move to the US once I’m done and passed the NCLEX. I am very much interested in becoming a CRNA which is why in determined to move to the States. Please could you do a video on how people who studied from outside America, say Canada, can come in? Like are schools very much willing to accept those of us who studied outside? Thank you
Hey I see a lot of ICU experience regarding CRNA programs, but can 3 years of OR experience in a level 1-3 trauma hospital count as critical care experience?
Thanks for the video! Question, how did you go about getting letters of recommendation from work when you were travel nursing? Did you use your first icu unit, or mostly the managers of the units you traveled to? Id like to try traveling for another challenge and to save money, but wonder how to get the letters of rec. I need.
I got one from the manager on my first ICU unit and the other 2 while I was travel nursing. Before I left to go travel nursing I let my manager know I would be applying to CRNA school in the future and asked her if I could contact her for a letter. Then I made sure to introduce myself to the nurse managers on the assignments I did and towards the end I would ask them if they'd be willing to do it and then keep their info. Make sure they know who you are from day one and touch base with them throughout your assignment. Then at the end you will have a better chance of getting that letter. You can also ask the doctors you work with for letters!!
I can’t even explain how helpful this video was!! I’m currently in nursing school and after graduation am interested in be a travel nurse and eventually going to school for CRNA! Any tips on becoming a travel nurse?
Thank you for this video! I just started my Accelerated BSN program (1 year program) and the goal is to get to CRNA school! I have a Bachelors in another field during my undergrad, do they take that into account or do they just look at my nursing school GPA?
Like this video seriously helped me I knew nothing about the CCN and the GRE before watching this video and I’m extremely thankful because now I know what to prepare for
What were things you did while traveling to boost your application? my biggest concern is references/unit involvement that I wont necessarily gain while traveling
I just finished my ADN with a 3.3 overall GPA. I had a 3.8 in pre reqs and 4.0 on sciences but a 2.7 in nursing school. I still have my BSN courses and CRNA science pre reqs. Is there any chance of me getting into a CRNA program with my poor nursing school GPA? 😕😕
Hey, I just found your channel and I love your videos already. I went to back to check on your videos and I didn’t see the video on the fastest way to become a CRNA from after high school to CRNA school would you please consider doing that video? Thank you!
I love your story! I considered an ASN at a community college, but opted for a top-5 private university instead. The only thing I got more of was debt! :/
Yeah, that's why I spend so much time on Flight Nurse MD's channel. I think RUclips suggested you because of how much he adores you! :) I applied to the only school that I want to go to and I'm interviewing there in 2 weeks. I'm presently surfing the allnurses SRNA board looking at interview questions. Keep up the good work!
I am currently in an ASN program, hoping to become a CRNA in the future. I have a previous degree (B.S Health Science) from a different 4 year university. In your opinion, would this give me a leg up when it comes to applying to CRNA schools? Thanks! Love your videos.
Hey Idk if you made a video about this, but I wanted to ask- what made you want to go to CRNA school? What made you want to become a CRNA? And last- what is your favorite part about being a CRNA? Thank you!
I’m 15 and am thinking about going into this profession. I did look up GRE question and I thought wow this is easy, but I’m sure by the time I’m studying for the GRE I will forget it.
Hi, I am a nontraditional student meaning I am a few years older (just turned 27) and I have been working in a totally unrelated field to healthcare for the past few years. However, I completed most of my undergraduate coursework at Ohio State and I was preparing for medical school. However, life threw some curves at me and I had to work my current job full time for awhile. Finally, I am in a position to return to academics full time. I am starting a BSN RN degree program and my dream is to become a CRNA. However, I am concerned that my age will hurt me in the admissions process. What advice would you have for someone like me? Thanks
Hi Rhianna, thanks for your videos! I am so happy I came across them. I am applying to Marshall this fall for the next cohort. I was wondering if you had any advice for applying? I have worked level one MICU for 3.5 years. I am scheduled to take the GRE mid September. I will be taking Ochem and physics in the fall too. Idk if the CAMC/Marshall app was different from when you applied, but it does not specifically ask for an essay now (unless I'm missing something). There is a spot on the CAMC app that says "anything to add, summarize any other info you believe pertinent to your app". Is it acceptable to write "see essay". Like I have too much I want to say about my nursing journey to fit on 4 lines and I want to be able to elaborate on my journey to nursing, working two jobs in nursing school, my ICU experience, shadowing, committees I am involved in, charge and precepting, now working in a "COVID" icu and how I'm still working hard taking additional sciences. I know they do not typically do interviews so I really want to do my best to make my application stand out. Just hoping for any additional advice you may have about the process before I bombard the admissions committee with all my questions lol. Thanks again for what you do your channel is awesome and a great resource!
I have to take physics and organic chemistry to apply to the schools near me 😭 the worst part is I have to take Gen Chm 1 and 2 before I can take organic chm. Thankfully I don’t need a GRE score. Good luck on your journey!!
Thanks for sharing! But I heard the CRNAs have a lot of risk associated with their own profession. Do you think it is very risky? Like my mom is an NP, and she told me that if give the injection (anesthesia) the wrong way you will be put at lawsuit. Just in general are there many risks associated with being a CRNA?
Anesthesia is very complex. The best way to protect your patients and yourself is by being educated and continuing to learn so you can provide the best care!
Hi~ Rhianna~thank you for sharing your journey. It is really informative and encouraging!!! 😊 If you don’t mind, can I ask a question? ☺️ Is there a specific tech position that is relatively easy to get a job in ICU?
I am in progress of getting my BSN. I have had a massive desire to be a CRNA for a long time. I recently discovered they don't have any CRNA schools in my state! Do you know if they have any online programs?
Should I go to a RN-BSN program at a university or college to have the best chances of being admitted to a CRNA program? Or does it not matter as long as it’s accredited?
Thank you so much for your videos ! I barely found you today lol. I can’t stop watching. I do have a questions though, I am about to graduate with a BSN. My pre nursing classes gpa is 3.74. My nursing gpa is around 3.4-3.5. Do you think it’s okay? Or is this low for CRNA school? Thank you 😊
Please what is the name of the school because my prerequisites are all past 5yrs and honestly dont know where to do those. If i could get a schhool that incorporates the prerequisites in the training.
hello! i am currently a second year at a uc that doesn’t offer a nursing program so i’m majoring in psychology which can either be a BA or a BS. What steps would you recommend to take to become a crna? i’m getting mixed opinions from people telling me i should do an absn program and others telling me to go straight to an amsn/doctorate after getting my degree. any feedback would help and thank you! your videos are so incredibly informative and helpful :))
Hi! I would contact the CRNA schools your interested in and see what they say! They can advise you best on what they want. Getting your BSN should be enough. I wouldn't want to go through a masters or doctorate program before CRNA school.
Hi Rhianna, thank you for the videos. I've applied to nursing school for my BSN as a second degree, next to a Bachelor's in Art. Meaning, I don't have any formal nursing experience - only beach lifeguarding for a few Summers. I'd like to pursue something in the medical field and tend to gravitate towards technical, detail oriented positions like a CRNA, but I'm finding out how introverted I am, which makes regular nursing sound intimidating to pursue. Have any advice?
What travel nursing agency did you join? I would like to travel as an ICU nurse but a lot of the travel agencies I've looked at require 2 years of ICU experience rather than 1 year. I'm a new grad ICU nurse and would love to start travel nursing sooner if possible!
I used AMN (American Mobile) the entire 2 years I traveled! The first assignment is tricky so you have to go in knowing that you won't have a ton of options. As soon as you get one under your belt you will be good to go! Most hospitals just want to see that you completed one assigment with no problems. If you want my recruiter's info I don't mind passing it along 😊I obviously don't work for them anymore but we keep in touch from time to time.
Thank you so much for this!! I really appreciate it! My end goal is to become a CRNA also so its nice knowing that travel nursing counts towards the amount of experience needed to apply. You have very informative videos and I hope you continue to make more!
Thank you! A bunch of people told me not to do travel nursing if I wanted to get into CRNA school but I did it anyway because it was my dream every since nursing school. After I started school I had a CRNA tell me that students who were travel nurses do really well in clinical because they are used to being in unfamiliar environments all the time.
Please never get rid of this video!!! I'm only 16 and I'm gonna need this!!!! you're the only person that has actually helped me plan.

this was so inspiring and informative! i am a undergrad freshman pre-nursing major and i want to be a crna too :)
I'm glad you liked it. Good luck with your studies and let me know if you ever have questions :)
Your videos are so helpful. I am currently a nursing student who is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life post undergrad-graduation. Your videos provide me with some priceless insight and information. Thank you!!
I'm so glad to hear they are helping you! That's exactly why I started this channel 🙂
@@TheSchoellerFamily thanks girl. I look forward to watching all of your videos as that is my ultimate goal.
Great! Plan to go to CRNA school after 2 years of ICU. So much to learn in the ICU for me now
Great plan!!
WOW this was so informative and I am so thankful I came across this! this is my goal!
So glad you liked it! Good luck on your journey! Are you a nurse already?
no! i am in my second year of my AA i will be applying in the fall tho!
That is awesome!
This is awesome advice and your path sounds so similar to mine. I did not take my first few years of school seriously and it shows on my transcripts. That is a constant reminder now to make sure my current school work is stellar!
Thanks for sharing! Yes same here. I didn't take it seriously until nursing and was so worried I wouldn't get into CRNA school.
@@TheSchoellerFamily well you are obviously killing it in CRNA school now so..keep it up and I look forward to following along!
@@caseytodd7632 Thank you! Good luck to you with your studies!!
This is amazing! I’m impressed with your hard working and dedication. I’m starting my nursing school this August and I wish I can follow your steps.
Found you on reddit from your recent post :)
Subscribed! Thank you so much - this gives me motivation!
I'm so glad!! 😊
I would love a video on your travel nursing experience!
I will definitely make one! I loved travel nursing so much, it was hard to stop! Can't wait to travel again as a CRNA.
@@TheSchoellerFamily whoa! You can travel as a CRna?
@@Meeyahx Yes! You can travel as a nurse practitioner too!
@@TheSchoellerFamily wow, that's great to know... I learn something new everyday lol... Thanx for the info
Thank you so much for all the information! Can you make a video on travel nursing (such as how to get a travel nursing job, tips in travel nursing etc)?
Yes definitely! I loved travel nursing and there is so much stuff I wish I knew before I started.
I would love a study tips video as well. I just started nursing school. Thanks!
Congrats and good luck! That will definitely be one of my next videos 😊
This was so helpful! Love this!
Glad to hear that!
Thank you for all the great information! I love your channel!
Could you share a video on your essay? I think that would help alot of us. Essays are a good way to speak to the admissions team.
Love ya!!!!
Yes and thank you for saying that! I was actually worried that I went to in detail about it in this video 😅. I'll do a video about my application including essay and other paperwork that was included!
too* lol
That's awesome! You will achieve it!! Enjoy the journey 💓
Can you do a video on how you improved your study habits? I know it's different for everyone but it helps to see your progress in finding your A study method! Thanks
Awesome video, starting to make sundays exciting! Now back to studying...
Thanks Phillip! Today is a study day for me too 🤓
Could you please post a video going Over your study habits?? Your come up is awesome & that you’ve been able to maintain your 4.0 avg!
Yes, thanks for the suggestion!
You're an inspiration to me!!
That is so nice of you to say, thank you! ♡
This sounds just like me...😭😭 I'm now retaking a few classes to finally get into nursing school. P.s thank you for your channel. It's very inspirational and motivating.
YOU GOT THIS! I had to retake A&P 2. ❤️❤️
Good for you for having a plan and executing it!
Thanks Jamie :)
This was great! Thank you so much!
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you!
Would working in the NICU as a nurse be considered as acute care experience to be able to get into CRNA school ?
It depends on the school.
You helped me more than you know
THANK YOU 💓 😊
I went into nursing wanting to be a NP.
Focus on what you want to achieve and it will happen.
Truth!
What a great story... You inspire me 😊
Aw thank you!
Can you make a video about studying?? I’m going down the exact same path as you are! I am a freshman in college and need a little help studying!
I made 2 if you look back in my videos 😊 they're pretty detailed.
Thanks! Glad you found it encouraging 😊
Thank you!

Can you make a video on how you prepared for the interview? What study materials you used
I will make a video addressing that! Thanks for the idea!
Hi! Just focus on your grades in nursing school and try to get into ICU as soon as you can ❤️
This video sounds like you’re having a serious interview lol I like it
Love your videos! What prep books did you use for GRE and CCRN?
Hi! Pass CCRN & Mcgoosh for the GRE.
Thanks so much and happy new year! 😊❤️
Nowhere I know of would accept that. The reason they require critical care is for ventilator, hemodynamics and overall management of ICU patients.
I’m curious to know your experience as an ICU and travel nurse :)
I'll have to make a video about that! I loved travel nursing.
Great advice, thank you!!
@@flippcrazy You're welcome!
Is OR another good field to work in for crna it is ICU the absolute best?
OR is not accepted as critical care experience so ICU is best!
JMU nursing alum here toooo!!!! GO DUKES!!!! small world
Yesss GO DUKES!
I can’t even explain how helpful this video was!! I’m currently in nursing school and after graduation am interested in be a travel nurse and eventually going to school for CRNA! Any tips on becoming a travel nurse?
Be flexible and open to change 💜
Thank you for your videos, they are highly informative.😁
You're welcome!
Thank you for this video! I just started my Accelerated BSN program (1 year program) and the goal is to get to CRNA school! I have a Bachelors in another field during my undergrad, do they take that into account or do they just look at my nursing school GPA?
Awesome, that is a fast program! They will take everything into account but they care the most about your science and nursing GPAs.
Like this video seriously helped me I knew nothing about the CCN and the GRE before watching this video and I’m extremely thankful because now I know what to prepare for
So glad it helped you Kenneth!
Thank you so much♥️can you make a video about study tips? I start nursing school in September and I’m worried my study habits won’t be as effective!
First of all congrats on getting into nursing school! Yes I definitely will make a study tips video, thanks for the suggestion :)
I just want to say, you are the best! :)
Aww thank you!
Anyone have a recommendation for ADN in southern coastal Oregon or online? I’m 33 and feel like I’m running out of time 😭
What were things you did while traveling to boost your application? my biggest concern is references/unit involvement that I wont necessarily gain while traveling
Yeah! you go it! I have a question, what about the cost of everthing...
Yes there is always a chance! Ir's good your science gpa is so great!
4.0 in science!! That's amazing.
Thanks for details ✌️👍💚💚💕
You're welcome! 😊
Hey, I just found your channel and I love your videos already. I went to back to check on your videos and I didn’t see the video on the fastest way to become a CRNA from after high school to CRNA school would you please consider doing that video? Thank you!
Yes that's a great idea! Thank you!
MAN for a new grad, the ICU will make you feel dumb with the quickness!
Never feel dumb you're there to learn! I still learn stuff every shift!
I love your story! I considered an ASN at a community college, but opted for a top-5 private university instead. The only thing I got more of was debt! :/
Thank you! Are you thinking of becoming a CRNA?
Yeah, that's why I spend so much time on Flight Nurse MD's channel. I think RUclips suggested you because of how much he adores you! :) I applied to the only school that I want to go to and I'm interviewing there in 2 weeks. I'm presently surfing the allnurses SRNA board looking at interview questions. Keep up the good work!
That is so exciting! I looked on all nurses a lot too when I was applying. Good luck at your interview, you'll do great! :)
I am currently in an ASN program, hoping to become a CRNA in the future. I have a previous degree (B.S Health Science) from a different 4 year university. In your opinion, would this give me a leg up when it comes to applying to CRNA schools? Thanks! Love your videos.
Having extra science will definitely help in my opinion!!
You are very smart girl. Do you mind asking you, if you have classmates who are in their early 40’s. Just wondering. Thank you.
Yes :)
I was just about to ask the same thing.
It would be much better in high school because everything is fresh!
Hi!! I wrote and essay and sent it with the application because I felt the same. Best of luck to you!!!
I have to take physics and organic chemistry to apply to the schools near me 😭 the worst part is I have to take Gen Chm 1 and 2 before I can take organic chm. Thankfully I don’t need a GRE score. Good luck on your journey!!
That is rough!! But good thing you don't have to take the gre, that test was awful lol. Good luck with chemistry.
You should do talks about your pass to other grads schools because they love to judge based on the past.... thanks your great!!!!!
Thanks! That was my main concern when I applied even though my bad grades were from years ago!
Rhianna thanks for making this video. I have one question is the bsn degree and the bachelor's degree the same thing?
Yes BSN = bachelor in nursing 😊
Thanks for sharing! But I heard the CRNAs have a lot of risk associated with their own profession. Do you think it is very risky? Like my mom is an NP, and she told me that if give the injection (anesthesia) the wrong way you will be put at lawsuit. Just in general are there many risks associated with being a CRNA?
Anesthesia is very complex. The best way to protect your patients and yourself is by being educated and continuing to learn so you can provide the best care!
Hi~ Rhianna~thank you for sharing your journey. It is really informative and encouraging!!! 😊
If you don’t mind, can I ask a question? ☺️
Is there a specific tech position that is relatively easy to get a job in ICU?
I'm currently BSN student, but my pharmacology grade is C...Does pharmacology grade play role in getting in to CRNA school?
Some schools require your pharmacology to be a B or higher.
Does the college of where the undergraduate BSN was obtained play a factor for crna Universities?
I'm curious as to how else someone can go straight to the ICU as a new grad? Can competitiveness vary between States for ICU positions?
It definitely varies between states. Being tech or doing your practicum in icu can help!
I am in progress of getting my BSN. I have had a massive desire to be a CRNA for a long time. I recently discovered they don't have any CRNA schools in my state! Do you know if they have any online programs?
No they don't because it is very clinical based.
Another awesome video! Congrats on 300 subs, love you!
Thanks babe 😘💜
It’s a 1M now wow
Nursing is a completely different type of social interaction so I suggest shadowing because that aspect may not be as intimidating as it seems!
