I am interested in becoming a CRNA but unfortunately, that doesn’t exist in Canada, so only anesthesiologists run the show. I hope to move to the USA immediately I’m done with my program. I have a few questions: 1. Do you know what the acceptance rate for people coming from Canada is or is it only American citizens they accept? 2. Do schools accept icu travel nursing experience? I have been browsing through some schools and didn’t see if schools would accept it.
Hi Rhiana! My one year in Medical intensive care unit is approaching. I just wanted to ask a few questions. Are CRNA schools picky/prefer specific ICU units over another like they’d choose someone with CVICU over Medical ICU? Additionally, is it possible to be a travel ICU nurse and then apply to CRNA school or would applications standout if one was a staff nurse?

I also have a masters in management from a regionally-accredited US university. Would it be faster/better to do my studies in Texas or Florida? Your advice would be much appreciated.

what programs would you recommend would help me in a community college to eventually become a crna? i’m planning on doing 2 years and then transferring.
If my school offers an AAS (Associates of applied science in nursing) verses an ADN, can I still take the same steps in becoming a CRNA? Get experience and then BSN and etc.
once i finish my bachelors, i would go work as an ICU nurse for a year and apply to schools in the meantime? and i would be in school for another 3 years?
I'm in my 2nd semester in my school's nursing program. I will have my bachelors degree when I'm 40 years old. Do you think there is any prejudice when trying to get into CRNA school based upon age? I think I'll be 41/42 when I would be finished with My bachelors.

I am finally starting to look at other critical care areas that can lead me to CRNA. Wish I could stay in NICU for CRNA! Thanks for your videos, they are always helpful!
Dee W I definitely would like to look into programs that accept ER as a form of critical care. I absolutely love the ER, but becoming a CRNA is the goal so the ICU is inevitable
@@Davo2times Thanks! I know there are some NICU nurses that have gotten into CRNA, but I feel like there is so much stuff I am missing out on that adult ICU has. ER is definitely on my list to try out, thanks for your input!
I am in paramedic school and from it I’m thinking of taking the bridge course into nursing to do CRNA
Love your channel. Could you do a video of jobs you can have as a CRNA outside of the hospital setting??
I have been following your youtube channel since before I start nursing school, love your videos 💞 . This is exactly how I'm planning on doing it, I got my RN license 6 months ago , I have been working in a Medical ICU since then, I started my bachelor online 3months ago and I'm planning to do it in 9months🤞 I am already halfway through the program. As soon as I finish with my bachelor I will get my CCRN and start applying to CRNA school. How much would you advice someone to save before starting CRNA school? I am a single woman with no kids.
Hello I’m in my last 6 months nursing school a tech in the icu plan to follow this path. Curious for an update did you accomplish your next steps?
Hi! ADN to BSN was discussed, but not on written "path". Can you please clarify this? Thank you. Also, do you feel Critical Care nursing is more or less stressful than your job now? You are exceptionally good at explaining things, and I love your channel!!
In years 4-5 while getting ICU experience, you’re simultaneously in a program for one year getting BSN. RN-BSN
I’m 19, getting ready to start my BSN nursing program this fall. This program is 5 semesters, so hopefully I can apply to CRNA school after this, if I decide on this. I’m looking at either NP school or CRNA school
unfortunately i think they are increasing the schooling years in 2025
What do you think about those who refuse the COVID vaccine?
I got my associates in math and science and was just accepted into SDSU BSN program
Straight to the point! Thank you
You're welcome!
Don’t it take two more years after your ADN? I thought it was a requirement to have a BSN to become a CRNA? Can you explain more please because I will be starting my nursing prerequisites this come January.
Thank you so much for this video! I’ll be graduating with my BSN in May & start in a Med-surg floor in June. Should I have applied at an ICU floor instead? I’ve heard med-surg is great experience so I wasn’t sure.
Hoping you see this cause I’m really interested all of a sudden in becoming a CRNA as a final step as well.... I’m currently a CR Sterile Processing Technician so my department works directly with the OR. After completing my BSN, is becoming an OR Nurse an option opposed to becoming a ICU/floor nurse? Or is floor nursing a mandated 1st step for all grad nurses? I just figured why not stay within proximity to where CRNAs end up (in ORs) ? Thank you, really appreciate your channel.
This seems intimidating 😱😱😱
You have to break it into steps to get past that!
Hi Rhianna, thank you for this video. I am a nursing student in my second year in Canada. I am interested in becoming a CRNA but unfortunately, that doesn’t exist in Canada, so only anesthesiologists run the show. I hope to move to the USA immediately I’m done with my program. I have a few questions:
Additionally, is it possible to be a travel ICU nurse and then apply to CRNA school or would applications standout if one was a staff nurse?
im 22 just finished my asn now applying for icu jobs... just having trouble finding hospitals willing to take new grads (i did not take my nclex yet, just graduated 2 weeks ago)
My program in Houston is a little different. You have to have a bsn not adn and 2 years in icu
I wish I had this video when I was 18. Im 22 and just now graduating with my ADN 😕
Girl I’m 32 and just got accepted into nursing school. You’re still so young!
@@jackiesesthetics88 I'm in my 3rd semester of nursing school and I'm 38. You're still a pup.
Girl, I feel the same way, but you're still so young. I'm in my early 20's and just started nursing school. Now, we have the info if we want to do something more in the future.
Im 28 and i just got my BSN
What do you recommend for the organic chemistry and biochemistry classes that most CRNA school ask for? As far as like graduate or undergraduate levels and types of schools that you can get theses courses?
Can a new grad get a job in the ICU right after registration? I know they have to do a year or more in medsurg in order to work in the ICU...
Yes!
I’m a new grad and started in the ICU two months ago :)
I got accepted to an ICU before I even started my last semester...it's just stipulated that I have to pass boards in time for my start date..as if boards wasn't enough stress, now my #1 job pick is riding on it too lol
Hey can you please make a video for international BSN graduates❤
Online states 2-3 years after you receive your RN
Did you work as an RN while you were going to CRNA school? Or did you have to stop working to be able to focus in school?
Can you please define what you meant by ICU & what types of programs are needed to complete plsss - im graduating soon.
Can u pls say how can a international student do crna program from bsc nursing (BSN) which is done in thier country
I’m in my pre req classes rn and they are already hard. But it will be done
Hi I have one question? Do you need to write a lot of papers through your nursing degree???
I had to write a decent amount but mostly during my doctorate.
@@TheSchoellerFamily Thanks for your response ☺️
I have a BS in engineering degree from a non-US university. My GPA was not great but World Education Services evaluated it as equivalent to a 4-year US degree. I also have a masters in management from a regionally-accredited US university. I would like to take up nursing as a second career (through an accelerated BSN program) and then apply to CRNA school after I get ICU experience. Would it be faster/better to do my studies in Texas or Florida? Your advice would be much appreciated.
Hey I love your videos so much. If I want to be a CRNA in America and I experience 2-3 years CRNA in Taiwan, I also need 1 experience year for ICU nurse in the USA? Thank U❤️
Can we work in the ICU right after the and program or do we need some experience before that ?
You mentioned about obtaining a BSN as you work in the ICU, but it’s not on the list. A BSN is required for CRNA school, correct?
where can i get CRNA programs ? any CRNA schools in Australia ?
Random question, but what kind of ICU did you work in? I have heard different things about how some recommend that you work in a CVICU to become a CRNA and I have heard that it doesn't matter as long as you work in an ICU!
what programs would you recommend would help me in a community college to eventually become a crna? i’m planning on doing 2 years and then transferring.
If my school offers an AAS (Associates of applied science in nursing) verses an ADN, can I still take the same steps in becoming a CRNA? Get experience and then BSN and etc.
If you already have a bachelors degree in something else and want to switch to nursing, wouldn’t a direct entry msn program also work?
once i finish my bachelors, i would go work as an ICU nurse for a year and apply to schools in the meantime? and i would be in school for another 3 years?
How about if you’ve got your ABSN? What are the steps from there?
I'm in my 2nd semester in my school's nursing program. I will have my bachelors degree when I'm 40 years old. Do you think there is any prejudice when trying to get into CRNA school based upon age? I think I'll be 41/42 when I would be finished with My bachelors.
Canadian diplôme nursing is it accepted?
I'm in an accelerated bachelor program. Cohort August 2026.
I'm a nurse tech in the icu, will they count my experience as a nurse tech?
I’m a senior in high school and I am deciding which nursing school to start BSN at next year, does the reputation of the school I get my degree from matter when applying to jobs and down the line grad school?
Only the associate is necessary? Its not necessary the bachelor?
Hi i absolutely love your channel, I just graduated high school and I’m going to start the prerequisites this fall, i was reading and I seen that I need to get my bsn before i get into CRNA school, so what i was going to do was do 4 years and go straight for my bsn, I’m just a little confused, so your saying that its faster to get my adn, and then get ICU experience while doing a 1 year RN to BSN program?
Do you do the prerequisites at a college?
So, after BSN it takes approximately 3 years to finish CRNA program?
