I love that CJ gets the friggin' Kyogre then gets the most baby pokemon in boss fights, meanwhile Smant goes into the Elite Four with a damned Skitty.

I love the streak of cj and smant getting really good pokemon then it just cuts to Fir with the most underwhelming encounter and the most defeated expressions

I like how the intro was basically “So this is really difficult with someone, clearly what we need to do is add ANOTHER person, that’ll make this easier for sure” 😂 love the content like usual
On top of that, Fir said something about it being his first nuzlocke in the stream. So not only adding another person but an inexperienced one as well
Yeah adding an extra player makes the game objectively more difficult as it’s harder to catch with more players and higher chance of finding Destiney bond/explosion pokemon every encounter
At least with 3 people it allows them to only have to worry about matching types on their own team rather than both

I was hoping this soul link would get edited to see all the perspectives, the two player one with Smallant was already chaotic enough but this is even more fun.

the editing is so good, i just had to rewatch the cut from smant to a certain pokemon at 40:56 several times
CJ used Skydot even though he had died, so he managed to unintentionally cheat 3 TIMES.

I mean after watching it I don't think skydot died as he didn't sound serious when saying "No more Kyogre" and he even uses it during the champion with some people going "Kill the cat"
i’ve done a 4 player randomized nuzlocke of pokemon emerald and it was quite the experience that taught me to never rely on friends that know NOTHING ABOUT POKEMON

Funny part is the first seed's SoulLink clause for Clefairy-Porygon wouldn't even matter cuz seconds before Azurill-Swellow already has overlapping types

Mad props for completing this, I had attempted this around 13 months ago. But on HGSS. It was really tough, between failing encounters hand having the same type of pokemon it just wouldn't let up. I did have a few extra rules, such as, there must be no matching types on any of the teams meaning if one player had a normal type then the other two couldn't. Also the starter must be chosen from the same slot unless you couldn't (i.e. same type). Even if there was a *little* bit of cheating 3 player soul-links are hard especially at the start where encounters are so limited.

I wish they'd do the type of randomizing where it replaces the pokemon with something that has fairly similar base stats. It gives you variety without turning success into a coin flip.

Damn my two friends and I did one on Randomized X a few months back through Discord. I still have the server.
We lost our first attempt because I had gym 1 with Dragon Rage Kyurem and lost my team. Attempt 2 worked out well, but I had to struggle with my team of Aipom, Bronzor, Stunfisk, Mothim, Shelgon [who died early on], and Meowstic. Other two had things like Zygarde, Taurus, and so on. Then my Aipom became a Return Silk Scarf Technician Ambipom who carried me through and I had to bench him as he was too overlevelled. We somehow beat it.

Still remember my first nuzlock, my roommate at the time and I did it together, but competing with a twist where we had to fight after every gym and winner got to pick one mon on the other's team to eliminate. I ended up with mostly great rolls thanks to luck and research to make sure I hit the best patches of grass I could for the best odds of getting a mon I wanted. The bs part of this was that we also introduced a shiny clause early in that finding a shiny by pure luck means you have to swap (not optional) out the pokemon you initially encountered on that route. I had just lost a battle and lost my only water type at the time and had a bad roll on the route following, but my very next encounter was a shiny Floatzel. My first full odds shiny ever, and it happened during a nuzlock at the most clutch time possible. Roommate was salty, I was hyped as fuck over both the fact I got a shiny encounter and got the exact typing I needed on my team. Roommate proceeded to get annihilated in every following post-gym battle and eventually lost the run while I completed mine.
