@@lukaskback9710 First of, nice name. Secondly, the shitty level curve should make it easier, no? The one time it spikes is at Red and that is the last fight in the game.
@@falafelfreak That's what he means, the level curve is super low all throughout, it jumps a bit when you hit Kanto but by that point you are so over leveled it doesn't matter, then the spike hits on Red and you hit the long grind. Said grind is thankfully a bit better in HG/SS but it's still there.
Thus the shit pacing. This amazing games and remakes though.

I think part of it is that a lot of the games he plays aren't competitive online games so he won't screw himself over if he takes a second to read chat every once in a while.

A day or two after this Ant did a race against someone and it still took him like 7 hours taking notes. One of the gyms/E4 people (forget which) was stupidly difficult to find and took like 3 hours by itself

It's funny how the loading zone to enter the first "dungeon" in the game, Sprout Tower, leads to the last room of the the final one, with Red
Now this is the open-world Pokémon game everyone was wanting.

With how many checks there are to make gym leaders be available in their gyms, even without the "no notes" rule, this would probably end up being the most interesting thing ever to see as a race.

Why is it so fitting that the last stop in this challenge is the first major stop in an actual playthrough? How poetic of an end.

Ash Ketchum challenge: You play through any gen 4-5 game, but you can only use pokemon that are weak against the current gym for that gym. So for platinum, the only available options before gym 1 would be chimchar, burmy and shinx. I guess technically shinx is eligible against gardenia since grass resists electric, but chimchar and burmy would have to be boxed and youd have to catch new water/ground types. For the elite 4, you always have to lead off with a pokemon that has a type disadvantage against their lead.

When i read the title, i didt know what the randomizer was, but i felt pity knowing that if Smant says its hard, it’s probably hard
I used the text file that you get when you randomize it, and sure it helped me, but holy shit were the searches long!
Like, I got past the typical name calling for the cities exteriors, but going back and forth just to find where the warp I want to land in to go to the actual warp I want to use to reach a certain place is just uuuuuuuugh. Like, the goldenrod underground, the team rocket part; with those warp names I couldn't understand which one was supposed to be which or connected to which other ones.
And you might get a randomized version where you can still reach the main goals, but you can't get Team Rocket away from the radio tower and so can't access some of the goldenrod warps that easily anymore for example. Speaking from experience here.
tbh. its rediculous that he cleared the game this fast without taking notes. thats faster than a normal playthrough for many many people.

I just recently tried to play through Platinum with the warp randomizer (and random Pokemon too, just for fun) and I was thinking "I really want this for HGSS." so it is AMAZING that this video happened to come out, almost on cue.

I really want a map randomizer that includes Fire Red, Heart Gold, Emerald, Platinum and Black 2.
You must beat each region in order from Kanto to Unova and beat each person in order. No notes and ALL warps and loading zones are randomized. It would be chaos and incredibly difficult, frustrating and chaotic but brilliant.
It was the only stream I've ever watched live and I could feel the dead on the inside reaching through the screen

You pretty much have to be a pro to do this. I don't even remember where HMs are, to games I've beaten a hundred times lol, let alone all of the events necessary to get certain gym leaders/items. And then you add all of the randomized locations. I'd probably pull my hair out trying to complete this madness.
