- This video is a guide for players that would like to try Grand Prix Legends with a gamepad. The tutorial is based on my experience with a Xbox 360 controller but it should work for other controllers as well. The setup tips I give are purely for gamepad players and might not apply for steering wheel users, where steering ratio's won't affect driveability that much.

I have to take my hat off to you Erik, cos as creator of a VERY amateur channel myself, I know the work you have to put in, just to make the simplest of video's, try and look half decent. So considering you don't have the advantage of a microphone - what a very well put together tutorial............ a job very well done.

I honestly believe that GPL is so classic it still has potential for lots of views... But it would make huge difference if you added your voice commentary. It makes people connect more with the channel.

i noticed, that turning my steering linearity all the way down, im able to avoid the twitchy left/right moments at high speeds trying to straighten the car, this sim rocks!

Ive only ever used gamepad but my thumb is so twitchy. Ill get me wheel one day.

Do you have any tips for when the game just doesn't recognize buttons? I use a PS4 remote and I've gotten the Gyro to act as a steering wheel (Hell yeah, portable racing) but the game just doesn't recognize half of the buttons I got to work. For example, square, which the program I use makes the controller be recognized as an Xbox 360 remote, is X on the Xboxbox controller and the game won't recognize it. I'll press Square and it'll do nothing. I've gotten it to work before, but when I had to reinstall the 67 sports car mod, nothing seems to work. Over half my controls are non-existant
I have a razer serval.. and i cant make the rt and lt work in game... any idea?

Hey Eric How do you set your RT and LT for Throttle and Brake? It doesn't work for me, Do I have to install a mod? Please tell me
It should work right away, if it doesn't you maybe have to many usb inputdevices plugged in which causes problems for GPL. Make sure you only have a mouse, keyboard and gamepad plugged in.

Hi! Can I play with the ps2 USB Controller? I'm trying, but the steering just go full left or full right :(
Ik u waited 2 years but I'm afraid there isn't a fix, I use ps5 controller and the joystick doesn't work. My fix is to set steering to l1 and r1. Try to calibrate the joystick to the centre as much as possible
It is definitely a calibration issue
So the best steering ratio to approach the game?
If you're a beginner the highest possible ratio that allows you to take every corner on a certain track. For Monza you can easlity use 20:1, for Monaco thoughh you have to use 10:1 or even lower.

Do you use the clutch for shifting? I'm destroying too many weslake engines
No you don't have to use the clutch, but you do need to lift the throttle between every shift. If you powershift the engine will destory itself very quickly.
