Not only is this a great space saver, there are some members of the disabled community who will love this concept.

I, for one, am one of those people who love the concept. I really miss being able to go to track days, but I can't really use my left foot with the same precision that I used to (And it's incredibly painful for me)
I can't afford any of the mods to my cars to let me drive my old cars, nor would I exactly want to be tearing apart my Skylines and Silvia to do that, and my steering wheel controller is just as painful for me to use as a car, so this is the best of both worlds for me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of the planet.
As soon as I get a 3d printer, I'm making one of these, brushing up on my CAD skills, and hopefully remixing this to make it a little more ergonomic for putting in your hands.

I have some ideas for the controller.
1 - Add L/R buttons (like regular controllers), could be used for shifting gears.
2 - Move/add buttons for blinkers in the front of the controller.
It would add/change the following :
    - L1 and L2 Button, located in the front left corner of the controller.
    - R1 and R2 buttons, located at the front right corner of the controller.
    - Since blinkers will move in the front L1/R1 or L2/R2, you’re left with 2 unused buttons. You may want to leave the there, repurposing them for other controls.

@@Adlevio, life has been tumultuous in Iraq for 30 years due to… well,
      America basically.
Every Iraqi I have met has been very friendly and enormously skilful in their chosen fields. An Iraqi Doctor in Australia saved my son’s leg when he was 2 years old. If it wasn’t for him pushing Aussie hospital staff to do better, the result may not have been what it was (my son had an unusual, rare bacterial infection in the hip joint; If this Doctor had not diagnosed it quick enough and acted so fast with surgery and the exactly correct Antibiotic, my son would today have only one leg). Thanks to an Iraqi, my son is 20, able-bodied and doing body building now and enjoying life (and now my son, in turn, works with children who have disabilities to make their lives easier).
I am confident this young inventor who shared this video will succeed in his career. If he succeeds IN Iraq, great. If he has to move for career advancement opportunities, so be it. Iraq (and the world) needs people like him. Imagine the blessing this device would be to disabled gamers who don’t have use of their legs and find regular controllers unsatisfying!
Being from Iraq probably does make him different. That Nation and its people have overcome a lot.

having the wheel auto center when move your thumb from the steering wheel to the analog stick to rotate the camera (since both are on the left side) just sounds inconvenient imo.
a better design would be to have the analog stick on the right side, and replacing the pedals with triggers just like a normal controller since then, you can both rotate the camera and the steering wheel at the same time which removes the inconvenience of having an auto centering wheel.

This is amazing work! As a professional game designer, I really appreciate what you did. Some suggestions:
    - Consider the ergonomics of the controller - smoother edges, firmer grips, like in an Xbox or PS controller. This will enhance the gaming experience.
    - Consider 3D printing a small, lightweight steering wheel assembly for your desk with a quick release option. You can research quick release adapters from Thrustmaster or ones used for camera tripods. You can have the quick release system permanently attached to your desk - snap in the steering wheel, connect via USB and you're done! Just keep in mind this will be less durable than a normal attachment :)

Agree. This is amazing was my first thought but my second thought was, Carpal Tunnel. Along with the overall ergonomics, I'd suggest "R" and "L" buttons for the index fingers to be used for shifting, and maybe a repositioning of the camera joystick. Super cool work, well done!

it is quite uplifted, so it would definetly hurt the hand in the future due to height
but also from ux-side - moving the 4 buttons somewhere to center would be way better, cuz people would probably missclick on them while playing
also i would like to curve the pedals themselves to better fingerpositioning

@@Justgreen89925 WTF you need gasoline for??? You charge the car battery by mains grid while there is electricity. I think a 3D printer needs more power than an "UPS" for PC can deliver. At least the sort I know are used in offices only to safely shutdown the PC without data loss, so it has only enough power to run a desktop PC for perhaps 15 or 30 minutes. Of course also huge UPS battery cabinets for keeping a whole data center online during power fail exist. But I don't expect that this is stuff average people in Iraq have access to or can afford. Lead-acid car batteries from junkyard are most common where weight doesn't matter.

    • @Justgreen89925
      @Justgreen89925 2 месяца назад

@@cyberyogicowindler2448 I thought you meant an old car battery with a generator. Also your method is pretty unreliable since a battery+inverter solution can't switch from Bypass to offgrid like an ups can, and a 3d printer like his won't use more than 300w which a pc ups can very well supply

    • @cyberyogicowindler2448

@@Justgreen89925 For uninterrupted transition between mains and car battery, you may simply mix DC outputs of both power supplies through big diodes into the PC.
