🔵 The Amex BBP was my first business credit card and one that I'm really happy to have. The fact alone that this card will keep my point balance alive with no annual fee even if I cancel all my other Amex cards makes it a really solid pickup. Of course, I don't plan on canceling my other Amex cards right now, but it's nice to have that safety blanket.
Shouldn’t you apply for the Amex platinum first for the biggest sign up bonus and prove to Amex that you spend enough. If you apply for their lower level cards you won’t get the bigger SOB offers/retention offers.
@@justinschrager1957 Amex values a relationship regardless and your spend on your current Amex cards along with time spent with Amex is key to all the credit and growth with Amex. I hold 8 Amex cards between personal and business I started with a basic Amex Everyday card 7 years ago and in the last two years grew a huge portfolio with Amex. Amex is the best relationship based bank you will ever come across.
Yup I just added the BBP last night, I hold the Amex Gold as well solid duo! I got the Amex Blue Business Cash last year and finally got the BBP, canceled my Amex Green as the Amex Gold is superior.
Do more!!! @asksebby please do more breakdowns for business credit cards. You break things down to another level and I would love to see more of your business content. Example: Hyatt business card, citi business travel card, other bank cards Truist, pnc, BMO Harris etc. lee up the good work brotha love the channel
🔵 the Hilton Aspire is a good card for that hypothetical 4th Amex spot, but that card is overdue for a devaluation. The BBP is a great catch-all card on a well rounded set up with Amex Gold. Ink Unlimited has a personal and biz version, so it's a bit funny to compare them with BBP.
idk, even with a devaluation, I'm bullish on it. I have no qualms about them bumping annual fee to $650 and keeping the same perks (YMMV obviously but happy to pay $250 effective annual fee for the FNC + Diamond status)
I’m looking to add this to my Amex Business card mix, I have the Business Gold (4x category spend) and Platinum for 1.5x for certain categories & +5k charges. It will be nice to get 2x MR points on charges without having to worry about which card to use.
🔵 Just applied and was approved for this card, but only for $2K limit. I have the BBC that’s holding a balance due to the 0% APR as I’ve scaled the business, gonna make sure it’s fully paid off by the end of the summer due to cash flow considerations. Nonetheless, I have $20K limit on my personal BCP and $15K limit on the BBC, so that combined with my balance hold on the BBC most likely contributed to the low limit. It’s fine, I was only planning a $1,500/month run through monthly with the targeted SUB 50K/$15K spend I got.
The BBP will grow with time, Amex most likely is playing it safe with how much credit you already have with them there is a cap on how much you can be extended. Otherwise eventually they will ask for salary proof etc, you can always request to transfer credit from the Blue Business Cash to your new BBP as well.
Love this card! I combine it with my Navy Federal More Rewards, personal Gold card, and business Platinum for crazy good points transfers. I easily hit 250k points per year with this set up.
Amex just started giving out elevated SUB offers on the BBP - I just got a targeted offer through my Biz Plat, they offered me a 50K SUB for $15k spend over 12 Months. It’s like getting 3X MR on $50k of generic spend.
This was a very good comparison/contrast👍🏾 I'm a fan of the Amex BBP, having two of them to escape that $50k limitation, and a bit less of a fan of the CFU. The numbers on the BBP work better, since I like transfer partners over fixed portal multipliers (1.5 CSR), although the latter can sure come in handy in a time crunch or quick domestic flight situation.
CFU has partner options as well (with CIP/CSP/CSR). Might make sense to look into the Capital One options given your high spend. idk if you're at $100k right now, wouldn't be surprised if you hit $200k+ in 1-2 years. Spark Cash Plus is the go-to solution I see for high spending business owners :)
I just got it because I did not have any Amex card that earns MR points and I am at 4/24. I have enough Chase point to last me a couple of years so this will be my catch all card and will replace my Unlimited cards.
I have a very small business, I train dogs and some service dogs, so not much spend. I think last year I was under 20k. I have the Hilton business Amex, but haven’t really found any other business card that would fit. On the personal side I use my Costco card for gas, venture x for catch all and just got the savor one for dining and groceries. Starting the points game snd love it. Maybe I don’t need another business card? 🔵
Amex Blue Business Cash, Blue Business Plus are both excellent no AF business cards. They are easy to obtain and are excellent for smaller businesses the BBP builds mr points for travel etc, more business credit is never a bad thing especially with no AF.
🔵 Hello Sebby, just discovered your new channel today and I subscribed. I enjoyed your analysis of the BBP and I am someone that would be spending less than $50k a year and am looking to build MR points for travel.
🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵Thank you again Sebby for an awesome video. I think where I am struggling is racking and stacking the most points as possible. (I am a travel doctor and own my own travel medicine business). I have the AMEX Business Platinum and felt that was all I needed. Now after watching your videos I see that is not the case. I’m honestly torn on whether the GOLD business or Blue Business would be my best next go to for coverage of say my other high business cost which is food. Do you have a comparison video of the different AMEX business cards among different categories whether on this Channel or your Original one with your expert commentary? Thanks in advance
The combo (Amex Bus Plat, Bus Gold, BBP) for business travel, along with many other perks and multiplier categories, is pretty much unbeatable imo. I found it easy to recoup the value of the AFs in a matter of a few months... and then some. The fact that the multiplier categories across the cards have little to know overlap makes the trio powerful - Good luck😊🙏🏾
Yep! Can put it on the list. If you're comfortable using personal cards, personal Gold might also be a good pick for food (and just document the expense / reimbursement).
Reminder that Ink cards (and their bonuses) have restrictions based off SSN/EIN. If you have 2 businesses, you can get a 2nd bonus + hold both card. i.e., March 2023 = EIN for biz #1 = CIC #1 May 2023 = EIN for biz #2 = CIC #2 YMMV if useful :)
I just got approved for this card yesterday, never had a AMEX card before, it is my first on the business and personal side, got a approved for 18k. How long would u recommend me to wait until I apply for the gold card ? Great video by the way !
Hi Sebby. I really appreciate your videos! I know this is a little off topic, but, recently I was thinking about getting an Alaska Airline credit card and I found the following in their fine print relating to the companion fare eligibliity: "after you spend $6,000 or more on purchases within the prior anniversary year." Have you seen this? Is this a new restriction? I'd appreciate any thought you have on the subject. Thanks
Hey Sebby, so i have a few questions on business credit cards before i decide to get one. i have done doordash and grocery delivery here and there the past 2 years just for some extra cash. i only made like $4000 in between both. im looking to still do it throughout this year making maybe like $5000. would it be a good idea to get one in my situation. i currently have the chase freedom, freedom unlimited, and sapphire preferred. i also seen the ink unlimited has a 15month 0% and i was gonna take advantage of that to invest in a laptop. could i also use that business card on gas and oil changes etc since im using my personal vehicle to do doordash? and should i still get one even if i dont really plan on having my own business and just planning to do doordash here and there ?

Luckily I have that setup as well. Lol
Biz Gold also solid if you run a lot of ad spend (or gas, any of the 4X categories)! 💪
