I believe it happened to me with the Amex Hilton Honors, I took the approval regardless which turned out to be my highest Amex CL! Some cards it makes sense to wait for the parole and if you hunt bonuses even more so! ✊

Update: Applied for this card today, got instantly approved, no pop up jail for a $25,000 credit limit which is higher than anything I have by far. I was thinking about the Platinum card but decided to garden for the US Bank Altitude Reserve.
That's so awesome! $25,000 is really nice. I love signing up for Amex business cards because of the soft pulls on your credit report. The US Bank cards seem to be tough to get, but I'm hoping you won't have any trouble getting approved
Putting spend on your wife's amex cards will not improve your chances of getting out of pop up jail. Similarly, putting money on your amex card will have no effect on your wife getting out of pop up jail.
I thought there’s a new rule with Amex you have the platinum and you got it first then your not eligible for the sign up bonus for the gold, You suppose to get the gold first then platinum and I think that’s the reason your getting that pop up message
You're right about the rules with the Platinum and and the Gold, but I'm applying for the Business Gold, which doesn't have the same restrictions as the personal Gold card

Yeah I'm shocked my wife couldn't get approved. We don't put a ton of spend on our cards now, but that's because we don't spend a lot in the top elevated categories, so it almost always makes sense to use a different card
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit Have you thought about getting the regular Amex Gold? I know you all go abroad a lot but while you're in the US you can get a lot of points from it, that's what I did. Might help with your pop up jail situation because I don't blame you for not wanting to use the Platinum, those multipliers suck.
We've considered the personal Gold card. I can't get the bonus because I sign up for the Platinum first (before the new bonus rule changes). My wife could get the card, but right now we'd rather sign up for business cards to help our Chase 5/24 status

Can you tell us more about this 25k SUB? Where did you find it and how much spend in how many months? I've checked all the public links and a few referral links I can't find a 25k offer. I found a couple targeted links, but they all said the offer was unavailable when I clicked through to view it

Nice, that's awesome! The Business Cash looks like a solid option, but MR points are much better to have if you use them for travel
If it makes you feel any better... I got the bbp card when there was no offer at all. It is a great catch all. I use it all the time.
The no interest for 12 months alone is worth it! 2x catch all is excellent it’s like the Venture X stand alone catch all!

i took the 125k offer. used it to buy a car. one and done and into the sock drawer you go.

That 125k was on the Business Gold, right? lol. I'll try to put some decent spend on it if I can get approved, but might be hard to justify in year 2
