I can’t believe I am just now finding this other channel! You should promote this more - it is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. I just got the Business Prime Card mostly because I am a Sole Prop and Chase won’t approve me thanks to 5/24. This puts me at my limit for Amex Credit Cards, but I don’t mind cancelling it and replacing it with the Chase one once I am out of 5/24.
Just got personal Chase version. It was a no brainer for me. Already have prime for years $200 & 5% back it was time. I spend about $8,000 a year on Amazon a year🥕🥕
🥕 Fun one. I think the Amazon cards and the Prime service are underrated, at least in the bonus hunting wing of the credit card hobby. You won’t take a deeply discounted dream vacation from getting your Amazon card (probably), but you will save on many or most purchases almost every day, and that’s kind of a big deal for most people. And a 90 day payment window is incredible if you’re a cash strapped small business. (Free delivery is no small thing either.) I don’t want to give up an Amex slot for an Amazon card, but I use my personal Amazon card for business purchases fairly often.
This is great! You make the best credit card videos! I appreciate your strategies and considerations! Unlike some other RUclipsrs who only repeat what they see on the website
I had to refer back to this video as I was thinking about getting the Amazon Prime Business card and your video pushed me to getting it. I mostly just use a AMEX setup to earn MR points and only have two credit cards with AMEX (BBP and BBC) along with three personal charge cards so the five credit card limit doesn’t really bother me and by adding the the Business Prime card I would still have two open slots for other credit cards which I don’t think I’ll fill anytime soon because I don’t really use hotels very often as I’m more of a Airbnb type of guy and the other AMEX credit cards aren’t all that appealing to me. I’m currently at 3/24 with only one last Chase non business card I want but I don’t want the hard inquiries I’d get if I applied for the personal version of this card through Chase (AMEX only did a soft pull since I already have a bunch of AMEX cards) and even though $25 isn’t much the welcome bonus was still higher so the Business Prime was just more appealing to me.
🥕 I have been considering getting the Amazon AmEx card for a while now. I do have Prime and I now know my annual spend would be enough to warrant getting the card. Thanks.
I love my personal AMEX Platinum card and want to get both the Prime Amex and the Business Platinum for my new business but my concern is being able to share or bundle the benefits of the Platinum cards, especially when I travel. For example, can I use points from both cards to book a Bonvoy hotel and will Bonvoy recognize me as two different card holders or can I link Bonvoy status from both cards somehow? Id like to combine all points and perks/ benefits from all vendors.
🥕I am 8/24 through. 7/2023. I was never sure about these two and even with this review I still have reservations on whether or not to get it. I only have CIC, Amex BB Plus and Navy Fed Biz cards. I want additional biz cards before I get those additional Chase Inks but I don't want the hefty annual fees of the Amex Platinum or the Amex Plum until my biz starts bringing in consistent cash. Maybe I'll apply for the Amex BB Cash in the interim.
Good stuff. I was looking through my cards and all of them have a fee. The key is to make sure I get value from them. Glad you are there to show how to maximize benefits.🥕
🥕 I’m new to the card game. Learning about the 5/24 rule etc. Will this count against your 5/24 rule? Also are inquires the same thing as 5/24 or is it just actually opened cards? Thanks a lot
hey there to anyone reading who possibly knows, just making sure if i was to apply and get either of the cards and once i start accumulating points those points can only be used at amazon ?( was hoping could get gift cards or add those to another amex card to combine points etc)
As it's the same content but simply focused on business cards I feel like this could have just been a playlist. Though I'm not a RUclipsr and I'd be curious to understand why this approach is better
Good question. Business cards + business owner content historically hasn't perform well on the main channel. This is compounded by the RUclips algorithm. Each video you upload is graded relative to the last 10. 1 of 10? Fireworks animations - awesome job! 10 of 10? Yikes, something must be wrong. "People are not interested in this content compared to your other videos." If you have multiple poor performing videos in a row, RUclips interprets that as people no longer enjoying your content or your channel. The general belief is that you get moved into a different recommendation lane or level. This (and other reasons) are why you see some channels with millions of genuine subscribers, but only 500-1,000 views for recent videos. The algorithm plays a huge role in recommending content, EVEN if you are subscribed to a channel. Why a separate channel? I can freely talk about business cards and other business topics (i.e., solo 401ks, tax write-offs, interviewing subscribers who have businesses + their card setups) without the shackles of the algorithm. Eventually, it'll be a factor but hopefully the audience I build here is more general small business + startup + sole prop focused :)
@@AskSebbyBusiness I like that you’re doing business card stuff separately because I’m in the process of incorporating my business as I’ve been running a sole prop for a few years and it’s been so hard to find good information on biz cards and which ones report without having to sift through a bunch of other stuff.
Wow, you will be the king of the niche (personal finance), within the niche (credit cards), within the niche (business credit cards) - assuming this is a channel only for business credit cards :) 🥕
🥕 had this card, got rid of it to make room for others, but might get it again later. Good card, weighty and metal as well. End of 2020 they had an offer for 5% on everything which was amazing
Your calculation for determining if the 5% version is worth it is ignoring the fact that since you'll have prime you will also save money on shipping costs most of the time.
Yes and no. I'd argue that many people have Prime without having either cards (i.e., me and probably majority of people). I have Prime because the math already worked out = it's a "sunk" benefit from a cost/analysis perspective. If needed, add in a new variable for average shipping cost + number of orders and solve for breakeven again :)

Contrast this with the terms of the Amex Gold, which doesn't even mention return protection.
🥕 Do you think this would be a good first biz card to get if your credit isn't good enough to get a chase ink card or if you don't have any history with chase yet? I want a card that has no foreign transaction fees since I plan on traveling internationally for my business.
If you already have Amex cards = it's a good pickup. If not = I would avoid Amex cards due to opportunity cost ("mathematically, first Amex should be 150k Platinum due to targeting). TLDR: REALLY hard to get "targeted" for the 150k once you start an Amex relationship: www.asksebby.com/guides/cardmatch
thanks for covering this topic! - was looking at the financing side (90-days). Would be cool a tier list of business cards (S,A,B,C,D,F) for different categories of business owners (Software, versus Inventory, versus Traveling Consultant, etc)
There's a fee for Prime but many people already have Prime independent of the card. A lot of the "super powers" exist on the non-Prime version as well :)

Definitely works as a short-term "plug" option, especially if you have high spend on those categories :)
Exactly not even on channel list for maim channel 🥕

Got the Business Prime last month just for fun and they had that $125 amazon credit dangling over me, so I thought why not!
Awesome pickup :)
Love the new channel. Don't have a "real" business, but do plan on a chase amazon card at some point. Just need to garden for a bit longer. 🥕
Thanks! Side hustles count ;)

Coming soon! :)
What do you think is better for a new business that plans to scale quickly the Amazon card or American Express plum card? Thanks
Plum feels like the ultimate scale fast card (depending on business type of course).
This is a great video!
So how many different kinds of 'Amazon' cards are there? 6 from 3 different issuers?
Do the prime card report to the business credit reports?
Question: Do either earn MR points, or is it just cash back? Thanks Sebby!
~cash back and NOT MR (so less upside).

Yep! The fact it locks you out and "burns" a slot makes it tough imo.
Carrot. Couldn't get pic to show up. Seb, the Citi and Barclays AA biz cards deserve your love

Yep! Wish it didn't take up an Amex slot. It might make sense to grab the Chase version as a long-term earner.
@@AskSebbyBusiness I've had the Chase version for years so luckily that's taken care of. Always appreciate your videos sir 😊
Any advice on a good business cards for points or cash back for gas stations that can be used for traveling?
US Bank Triple Cash or Amex Gold Business.
What is the downside of getting a business amex prime card vs a chase prime card both have no annual fee and both have their perks..
1) Credit report posting
2) Capped vs. non-capped
3) Amex 4/5/6 rule ("5 card cap")

Both Amazon Amex biz cards don’t show return protection when I checked just now. Did they remove it?
So it’s under Offer and Benefit Terms, but not on the landing page where benefits are usually listed
