@matt9736 auto focus does work while recording but you need to press a different button instead of half pressing the shutter But it is always best to focus manually during video
Work out exactly what you need to film first, avoid all that editing ' not always easy' plus shoot in 720p 30fps it's much smoother and generally sharper. 1080p really only comes into its own on larger HD screens anyway. I've shot 4k video and even on a 65 inch 4 k panel it doesn't really look much better than 1080p from 20 foot away. Frame rate and smooth video is far more important than resolution, as for 60 fps unless it's fast moving scenes nobody at all could tell the difference.
hey thank you for your feedback. this was the first video ive ever filmed with a DSLR so i wasnt even sure what i was doing but i have shot many other videos after this and have learned so much. for my latest work please see www.RUclips.com/c/jakobzmedia
@bulldozerHW sorry for the late reply the D3100 from nikon is coming out and it will do 1080p video so i'll recomend you wait it out. it will cost roughly £579
@PurplePinkGlitters sorry for the late reply....its not your battery its your memory card.....you need a huge memory card...we used 3 8GB memory cards for this shoot. if you need more info on choosing the right card please click on the link in the description of the video.....these guys are really insighfull.
Sir I'm borrowing this camera from my friend for shooting videos ... Can please suggest at which modes & settings the video come out to be better ..please
Hey bro I can't remember the settings anymore as it's been years. But a good start is to shoot at the highest frame rate you can get. I think with this camera you can shoot 24 frames per second on 720p so that would be a good place to start. Set your shutter speed to 1\50 and your ISO and aperture setting based on what lighting you need. Hope that helps.
@@BeardChampion Yupp i mostly shoot cinematic video's .. setting up high frame rate will reduce the stabilization something like that sir ?? PS. I don't have a gimbal
hmm.....does the quality look bad when you view it on your pc without uploading it to youtube? and are you converting it to another format before uploading them to youtube? i wish i could could help you more but i need some more info......and yes i do use a program and its called premiere by adobe
@bulldozerHW 1.it does not (550D does) 2.Quick time video file 3.100MB gets you 20 sec of full 1080p 20FPS clip 4.focusing is the only hard thing and auto focus is not reliable overall you'll be better of with a 550D as it will do 30FPS on 1080p. 20FPS on 500D cannot handle action or sports very good thats why my subject does not move around alot. hope it helps and sorry about the late reply
For the used price of this camera, the quality if very good HD. Even if it's just 20fps. It's very usable.
Is that the reason why this is so laggy? If he lowered the quality to 720, would that be better ? Will it be smoother ?
@@adenielle2331Somewhat, but it's very noticable. The 720p mode supports 30fps, which is like, 1.5x 20

@matt9736 no that is 100% manual focusing...... it was all in my hands
Hi....
Legend has come after 11 years 🙂😁

Hello, Howard can i find the music in this video
@TheKuyaVince i think its called 'Reminiscence' Nocturne
and yes it is played by the girl in karate kid.
Hi! Thanks for putting effort to show us this one I really appreciate it as I am about to buy this camera for a reasonable price. thanks a lot!
@bulldozerHW sorry for the late reply

it will cost roughly £579
@xRuFFZx yes it does its the difference between getting smooth moving action shots and chopy video footage
@darkbow98 this was shot at 20fps as the 500d cannot shoot anything above.... :)
@bulldozerHW well i would advice checking out the sony NEX3 since u can change the lenses and it has aps-c sensor aswell as 720p recording
This looks great. Did you film in 24fps or 30fps?
1080p mode has only 20 fps on this DSLR
@Guamra he used manuel focus in the video.

@@ThePhilharmonicStudios no a higher frame rate will allow a smoother playback
@@BeardChampion Thank you 😇
Thank you so much for sharing! Great video! Super informative camera test video creation! Nice musical! Good day!
👍🍀🇭🇺🌞☝️
unbelievable.... I appreciate your efforts
thank you..... this camera started my love of film and its let me to my new page "Jakobz Media" please check it out.... im sure you'll like it :)
Sure dear
How noisy is your lens when autofocusing?
@TommyPh500d your so right
hmm.....does the quality look bad when you view it on your pc without uploading it to youtube? and are you converting it to another format before uploading them to youtube?
i wish i could could help you more but i need some more info......and yes i do use a program and its called premiere by adobe
hello, when i record video with this camera it looks very, very pixelated. At both 1080 and 720. And I use premiere pro.
i love this song, whats the name of it? Isnt this song used in the karate kid?
@TheKuyaVince Chopin-Nocturne, for violin is the name of the song :)
what settings do you export at? i cant get full resolution no matter what i do! unless my mermory card is to slow?
I think that 720p is way better than 1080p on this camera, because 1080p has a 20fps
'm not happy with the filming! Movie images are not synchronized and shocks.
@JeffreyHellman sorry mate i am a adobe premier guy.............i would not know anything about final cut pro
Hi there, is it possible for me to use this video for non-profit usage? thanks!
20fps @1080p.
im thinking on buying this camera with a 18-55mm lense will it shoot a video with this lense?
What are your settings? And how do you get 1080p?
Just go to sethings and change quality
But first turn on rec. mod
@ImHomeAtLast hmm... that's weird....i use an sandisk 8gb extreme.
As I can render in that capacity in adobe premiere I have that same camera Cs6
What lens?
does the auto focus work when its doing video?
how can you do this with auto focus when it's video ?
@bulldozerHW
1.it does not (550D does)
2.Quick time video file
3.100MB gets you 20 sec of full 1080p 20FPS clip
4.focusing is the only hard thing and auto focus is not reliable
overall you'll be better of with a 550D as it will do 30FPS on 1080p.
20FPS on 500D cannot handle action or sports very good thats why my subject does not move around alot.
hope it helps and sorry about the late reply
it will shoot video with any lens
very nice...
I also have a video test for 500d - yours is nice!
Thanks bro
What's the frame rate here?
you shouldnt get a dslr....
an why would that be. I bought this camera and its amazing!
You need a gimbal that video is so choppy
this was captured 8 years ago on a camera that shot 1080p on only 20fps..... i dont think gimbals were invented or even affordable yet to the masses
@bulldozerHW about 150 GBP but its worth it
done
nice 500d camera
அருமை
I have the same camera :)
To bad it's 30fps
(Fps 0) 😂 😂
