@@lylabryce5793 It shows you what your aperture setting actually looks like. Usually, when looking through the viewfinder or at the screen, you're seeing it at the largest f-stop, not necessarily the one you want to take the photo with. This really matters when you're seeing something at like f2.8 but you want to shoot it at like f11. There will be so much more depth of field (stuff in focus) at f11 than at f2.8.
The button in 6:53 is the Depth of Field Preview Button. “Press the depth-of-field preview button to stop down to the lens’s current aperture setting. You can check the depth of field (range of acceptable focus through the viewfinder.” I found this in p. 80 from the instruction manual for the Rebel T1i.
My first DSLR was a Xti, the precursor to this Digital Rebel series. I still shoot with a t1i and 70D. They're great, unless you care about 4k video and being an influencer....But if you just care about actual photography; they're excellent even now.
I just found one on eBay 10 minutes ago! It's basically new and in the original box with a lens paperwork, everything - 70.00 start bid, 1 bid 2 minutes from the end, I sniped at 6 seconds and got it for 72 Bucks!! It's beautiful! Like I don't have enough Canon DSLR's already!! MORE the MERRIER!!
I just got one of these since I've been away from home with my normal camera for the last few years. Any best lenses to add to supe this guy up? Mine has a Canon 35-70mm lens
@imran580m there is a latch you open on the camera to get to the battery and you’ll have to order a battery charger for it if you don’t have one. There should be one linked in the description
The maximum ISO of the T1i is actually 12800 (or displayed as H), not 6400 if you go to Custom Functions and head over to ISO expansion and set it to on.
If you switch to MF on the lens barrel, then you can focus with that thin, ribbed ring on the end or the barrel. Works pretty good if you zoom in a couple times, just as you pointed out.

I really like using the f/1.8 50mm lens which is only like $125 brand new but you can find a lot of used ones on eBay for less. I also like the 10-18mm and the 75-300mm lenses. An opteka 8mm fisheye can be fun too
Well both. You can get a really nice camera that has amazing video and pictures quality but you can also get really nice lenses that will help with the image quality of you have a low end camera. Check out the canon 50mm lens
I’m not sure what your price range is but I currently own the canon m50. It’s a pretty small mirror less camera I believe it’s about $650 for the mk1. The mk2 might be a little more. But I got that camera back in 2019 and I have loved it since. You can order an adapter so you can use normal dslr lenses on it. The m50 has a bit smaller diameter lenses than canon’s traditional dslr lenses.
That little mystery button is the "Depth of Field Preview" button. Excellent video BTW!
What does that do?

the video quality feels perfect for a 2000s amateur skate part. low res, low framerate, good color

Heck yeah that’s a steal too. It’s pretty cool I just wish it had a flippy screen haha
@@brandoncameracollection Ha Ha! I rather have just the regular screen. Don't think many of those moveable screens fair too well after a lot of use 👍

Just bought a Speedlite 430exII and BG-E5 battery grip for mine. Still takes great photos and still videos.
It was a huge step up from my AE1.
just found my dad's old t1i, excited to get into photography!
I never tried photos with it but other videos I’ve seen look like it takes good ones

There is a manual focus ring on the 18-55 kit lens. It's just very small, and right behind the filter threads.
My first DSLR and love it.
Same
I have had one since it came out and love it.
They are pretty cool I have to admit
I just bought one so I'm excited to take some photos with it
It’s. a good camera
Manual on the 18 to 55is serated ring right behind the front lens and filter.
Love your videos and I appreciate you.
Thank you 😊 glad you enjoy the content

Yeah honestly it’s still a great camera
Have one and it’s awesome.
if i add a different lens , is the quality better or does the camera control the quality

@@brandoncameracollection what's a kind of budget camera that would be good for sports photography
