@@moimorak while the plot for the game (aside from Farewell) was written quite ambiguously, the creator has stated that in hindsight she wrote the protagonist's struggles based on her own ones that came from being trans.

Hey I gave Wizard of Legend a try after your last video. You were right, it was an amazing experience. I only wish the elemental environmental synergies were more developed. Otherwise, rogue-like mechanics were well implemented.
For elemental synergies i recommend magicka and magicka 2. It is really fun to combine different Elements there. Wizard of legend really Doesnt have any elemental synergies to my know but it is more fun to play with different item combination
@berenarchidon8256 yeah magicka was OK, a bit slow to my taste but was unique at least. I still crave a magic combat puzzler type with environmental kills/interactions as a focus
This is the same vibe as "Illumination made minions, the Mario movie is doomed" and then the trailers show potential.
I'm hopeful that both that movie and this game will actually be a redemption for these producers and developers.

I always thought the slytherin house was a bunch of young directionless kids getting into trouble who just needed good role models and direction. And much like our prison systems we just give up on them and stick them all in the same housing to let them symbiotically feed off each others negative behaviors and aspects to become worse.

I find it hilarious that in an interview the devs stated that they designed the broom in a way to keep the player closer to the ground until later in the game after you've upgraded your broom.
Then without missing a beat they showcase a flying horse that can go anywhere as something you get from preordering the deluxe edition.
What yall do miss out on though is the thestral mount which kinda sucks…
I feel like the laser beam battles will be like the the button mash sequence at the end of a big battle where you have already done the big intense battle and it is more so a cutscene where you have to time the button presses at certain times like a quik time event.

I hate those. If I wanted to do that I'd play with a Simon Electronic Memory Game. It is, in fact, the reason I don't play any action/adventure RPGs.
A lot of developers start off making cheap soulless corporate games (because money) before they get a project they can be passionate about, so their track record isn't necessarily indicative of their future performance. I remember there were some other big, talented dev groups that started off the same way.
Yeah, doing what Hollow Knight did is a huge risk/huge reward type-a-deal, and it's not something everyone's willing to take. Sure, you won't have a trashy game on your record, but if the passion project fails, then you're just fucked, not much you can do about it.
I think it's funny how laser-beam battles became so common in the Hogwarts universe, after they established, in the movies, that they were extremely rare occurrences... The only reason Voldemort's beam, and Harry Potter's beam connected like that, was because they had twin wands, wands containing feather cores from the same phoenix... This was explained IN the movies, but... I guess they forgot that, because now anyone can beam-connect with anyone, at any moment, and it's a super common occurrence? In a time-period BEFORE the events of Harry Potter?! Lmao.
And somehow, 1800's wizard fashion (The whole Noire-style), looked more modern than early 2000's wizard fashion ( Based on 1600's style)? Make it make sense...
I have some things to say.
1: The PlayStation exclusive stuff only lasts a year then it'll go on other platform's.
2: The developer's have said that there will be many choices that will allow us to go down the Dark Path.
3: THAT MOB PSYCHO MUSIC AT THE END OF THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😍
I'm not too optimistic about the game overall, seeing how lifeless Hogwarts looks in the trailer. Like, it's a freaking school, teenagers should be running around everywhere, doing a bunch of shit in the background but they're only standing in little clumps of silent idle animations and the few you can interact with stand there like trees with little sparkles around them to indicate they have a pointless fetch quest for you.
At least, the combat looks pretty decent, but that won't suffice.
i mean hogwarts doesnt look too lifeless imo in the SoP it looked like there was areas where there were lots of npcs talking sitting down looking like they were talking and older years i hope the new showcase makes u change ur mind
It's realistic in my opinion. I went to high school in the UK and the corridors are essentially empty unless it's right between classes
@@randomterrarian5566 but even then hogwarts doesnt even look empty i mean maybe it did in the showcase we first got a couple months back but that was because that was literally a different build of the game on a dev kit the 2nd showcase showed how npcs outside of hogwarts are quite realistic there was one npc kid pretending to ride on a broomstick lol also the 2nd showcase visually looked better with textures and stuff so im excited

Mana systems are only problem when it's an inconvenience to fill it and not a skillful part of the game.
Ff14 is a great example of mana on healers/casters. You should never run out if you're playing properly, but you can if you don't know what you're doing
he talked about why a mana system is bad in one of his previous vids, TLDR: limited resource makes you spam the most powerful spell to get the best dps, disincentivizes cool spell combos and creativity
@@shalvei_ So the reason OP mentioned FFXIV is because although it doesn't have an "open combo system" or free combat and what have you, there's benefits to using your skills in a specific order to conserve mana and amplify their power as much as possible. No smashing funny big number button or it goes down the drain and now you have no mana, no bitches and a funeral to pay for.

I hope that the main storyline traverses multiple years so you get the experience of going through all of hogwarts, and that would also be a good way to lock some of the more powerful spells behind the main questline, I also hope that there is a skill tree that prevents you from unlocking EVERYTHING, I want there to be choices that you make which change what happens

I'm confused. What's wrong with the "ASMR" videos? I think they're a neat way to make players watch places from the game and search for clues. They're basically free to make, unlike trailers. The devs are HP fans and know we're dying to get our hands on the game. They're just sharing what they can with other fans. I adore this game's marketing strategy.
I loved the asmr videos. They solidify the world as something real and also its just overall relaxing

There are some really good ASMR videos with most just being generic as every other genre of entertainment. The best in ASMR are usually men but there are a few professional women who are really good at their craft and put care into their work. Moonlight Cottage ASMR has a video called "Wand Shop" that's related to Harry Potter and the set looks real and very well done. You should check it out if you haven't.
There's also Gibi ASMR "The Adventurer’s Shop" which is more general fantasy. Pretty good stuff.

My primary take from having followed the game over the last year or so, is that the developers really seems to care about the game, and have gotten at least some freedom to make the game they want to make aswell as the time to do it
You HAVE TO PLAY "Your only move is HUSTLE" if you want to know what is to play as a wizard.
So I never watched nor read Harry Potter yet found myself in the wizards and magic brainrot club. The gameplay itself looks really damn good and that's definitely something it has going for it. Without Rowling's influence I think there's a high chance they take a good amount of creative liberty around things like available spells and answering questions Rowling never did. Definitely going to wait for more info but it has a large amount of potential.

That has nothing to do with retroactive continuity (retcon) because retroactive continuity is changing or recontextualizing an existing event or piece of information. The author has the rights to retcon whatever they want, they can introduce information that changes the way something sits in the world. Now, the reader can choose to straight up ignore it if it's not in the book itself like Rowling's Twitter, but by itself your claim that DotA prevents already written books from being retconned is entirely false, as subsequent entries in a series can retcon something in a previous entry.

I wouldn’t let the past games be indicative of this game, I mean From software, and Santa Monica Studios made some weird games before they got going on their big series and look at them now. Each have games that have won GOTY and this year they were pretty much neck and neck for GOTY. It looks like the devs of this game are passionate about it so I think it’ll turn out great
You know how Toys for Bob were assigned to work on Skylanders for years before Activision let them make Crash 4? That's basically how I see Avalanche rn because the game does look amazing.
Can you choose your house, get your classes schedules that you'd have to actually attend to them or else u would repeat a year? May be reward for having good grades? Maybe competition with other houses? Teachers? Random festivals? Actually fucking year/seasons rotation? Sneak out of ur dorm at night? Secret path that leads to places where ur not supposed to be? Relationship with people? Quidditch?
The game came out and I can safely say…
It’s upper-mid. Spell variety and creativity are lacking, but exploring the world, solving puzzles, breaking through shields using different kinds of spells with different effects (red shields go down either short range with fire damage or long range with disarming, for example) does get fun. I just wish it wasn’t trying so hard to hold exploration tools back. Like, I want alohamora, but I can’t have it until the story lets me have it. I can’t just do a Hermione and learn it by reading outside of class.

My biggest issues is that a lot of key components of the world like: hard magic system are being handled by the devs since they literally have so little to work with. My expectations for this game are low tbh
They NEED to look at D&D for inspiration on the spells. They can also look at: Neverwinter Nights, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and BioShock.
Also Guild Wars 1... Actually... If they just completely ripped off Guild Wars 1, I wouldn't even be mad. lol

I really hope they are just saying she wasn't involved so that they can avoid controversy, and that she actually helped them behind the scenes. just because she has weird and stupid opinions doesn't mean she isn't a genius or should be shut out of her own work.
She hasn't written anything decent since the last book. The fantastic beast films are the most incoherent plot hole ridden messes ever put to screen.
@@TheStellarJay Because she's a good author, not a good filmwriter. the fantastic beasts 2 movie was also greatly misunderstood. I also hated it at first, but then i watched movieflame's video on it and it changed my perspective. If you're looking to actually be open-minded, then feel free to check that out. If you don't, then you're willingly and obviously trying your hardest to hate J.K.

@@donthavelove42 There's a differnce between writing a script and saying what should and should not happen in a game. She should have input, is what i mean. She could tell the story of harry potter so well in her books because that's what she wanted to do. that's what her ideas of lore and characters was built around. She still has so many ideas and bits of lore, but its hard to write a story around something that you just came up with because it's interesting and fit into the universe you created.
If other people are going to be using her work, i think she should have a say in what happens and what doesn't happen, and also get to share ideas.

Game was kinda boring.
Enemies lacked variety
Game just reuses things from other games and just gives them a potter skin.
I feel no incentive to explore.
Most interestinf part of this game in my opinion is room of requirement
The enemies actually do have quite decent variety in that all goblin types have their own special moves or abilities and all wizard enemies have different signature spells that they use at you, and all enemies have different weaknesses with most of them having unique ones.
I think the real problem there is that the game throws so many enemies at you all at once and usually they only need a couple of hits to kill so you don't actually need to really pay attention what you are facing when button-mashing does the trick fast enough, and even if you tried to utilise their weaknesses there's usually so many of them at once that you don't have time to concentrate properly. It's also rather ridiculous that a fifth-grader ends the game with a body count of hundreds of criminals and there's still only one police officer in the entire area.
All of the enemies should be much tougher to take down so you'd need to utilise your tools and their weaknesses more and there should always only be a couple of them at most at the same time so that you'd also actually have time to figure out what you need to do to deal with them.
And while we're at it the basic cast shouldn't have been a thing at all and instead the spells we do have should combo with each other more.
I greatly appreciate the Lena Raine music. And honestly there's so much that easily could go wrong that I've lost all hope already.
