    I flew on one of United's 767-400's back in 2019 from Amsterdam to Dulles. Even though the 767 is old I loved the flight and I am happy to see these birds are still active these days. Unfortunately the airline I work for as a Flight Attendant, KLM, has retired their 767 fleet a long time ago already.

    Saturday night,very late ,almost morning ,eating my organic popcorn 🍿 watching this at 4AM !! LOL I often love watching videos of airports/ airplanes ✈️ more than movies 🎬 !! I love this channel ! I am subbed . I was there at Heathrow airport this past summer ! I just came back from my Wales/ England tour ( solo travel ) last month !! People at Heathrow airport were so ~nice !! Even the currency exchange place workers at the terminal 2 !!! Both Welsh & English people were super duper kind to me everywhere I went !!( off course,there were some exceptions, just a few ) I LOVE TRAVELING ,hardly ever get a homesick !! Lol. I am like a gypsy in the sense!! Since I was a kid !!
    It's great to see that headrests are adjustable in the economy class even !! 👍👍I had terrible experiences with United flight attendants everytime I flew with them in the 80's ,so I stopped using them ,then used it once in the early 90's, I.saw an improvement, but still not great ! Lol.I am intrigued to watch this !! Although I read bad reviews on 'em all the time to this day !! Lol.I'd love to visit Argentina someday soon & I wanna fly directly ( from U.S.) United is one of the options ,I believe .💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞

    I flew IAH - MUC - IAH on 30yr old UA 767-300ERs, Pillows were not given or able to be requested for those in economy or plus. (no premium cabin for our flights) The blankets were funky like it wasn't dried properly. The cabins were dated and WIFI dropped every 30 minutes. Meal service is the same on this video, but looks like David got a snack with his drink service. We got a napkin. Just wish United was more uniform with their services. Also wondered why they didn't upgauge this flight for Oktoberfest when it was full with stand by passengers going both ways. Would have made sense for me for a limited time and maybe a better service. Also, if you are going to ask $250 - 300 more for Economy Plus, and only just a few more inches in leg, throw something else in the mix like better meal service. To me, that's a little pricey.

    • @baldwindelacruz46
      @baldwindelacruz46 Год назад +1

      1 United wouldn’t earn money if they added capacity for stand by passengers. 2 If you wanted something else in the mix you would buy an Premium Economy where the meals and seats are an upgrade from regular economy.

      @@baldwindelacruz46 The only true upgrade on the aircraft I was on was Polaris business, which for a 30+ year old aircraft, did not look like their nominal Polaris product but did match the theme of flickering tube lights when they dimmed the cabin. People were willing to pay upwards of $8500 for that Polaris seat and to me, didn't seem worth the cost. Probably would have gotten more bang for their dollar on Lufthansa or Delta.

    IAD might not be the best hub airport in the USA, but it does have the best architecture. The main terminal roof was designed by Eero Saarinen in the classic 1950s space-age style and it still looks fantastic 60+ years later. It's a shame those wheeled people movers are no longer used to board aircraft.
    Even though I live in the USA I tend to avoid US carriers on international flights so I haven't flown UA long-haul in ages, but I was impressed with the seat, IFE and the catering on that flight.

The interior of the United 767 was equally very impressive for such an old airframe, as was the meal service. As with most airlines (or just things in general) upkeep is going to be important. I know that there is still one DC10 flying around (the Flying Eye Clinic I believe) but that plane has been well maintained even though they were taken out of service over 20 years ago. Same for 747's. There are still some in service (most are cargo jets) but they've likely been maintained. In fact, an older jet that's been well maintained is probably better than a newer one (say 5 years old) that's not been maintained, as all Jets need regular maintenance and inspections to ensure there aren't problems (ie. checking for cracks, wiring issues, etc). It's the same for most things, like cars too. If a car is not maintained, it will not last, but a well maintained car can last a long time. Most airlines do prefer newer jets so most commercial passenger jets are usually in the 1-5 year age range. Some of this has to with efficiency, sometimes for comfort (new designs, for example to keep up with the times) so it's not that older jets are necessarily bad, but they may not be as efficient or luxurious as newer ones, but if they are maintained, they can still be good options for certain tasks like cargo flights or other things. I mean after a point, even with constant maintenance and good upkeep, some jets do just become outdated and that s when they become freighter jets usually (they move from commercial passenger service to freight services).

    Always enjoy your trip reports! Wish I could travel, but unfortunately am unable to now. I also have a secondary reason for watching! I am interested in seeing which countries have removed the mask mandates! It appears that most western countries have now removed mask mandates for air travel. I seriously wish Canada would "join the club"!! Apparently our mask mandate for air travel is going to remain "for some time"! Thanks for these videos, David! They are greatly appreciated!

      This summer I was on flights from MUC to IAD, IAD to LHR and SFO to NRT and on none of these flights were pillows provided on every seat. So at least I see it as the majority of long-haul routes offering pillows only upon request right now…

    5:47 I remember that UNITED safety video. They came up with a great concept showing the airplane safety features from different parts of the world, all to the music by great American composer George Gershwin in the background
    However iI was surprised to see the final scene of the safety video set in China
    United is a US carrier. Their hubs are in NewYork, Washington, Chicago and SanFrancisco
    It would make more sense to finish the safety video from one of these cities instead since all of these cities have iconic landmarks which could’ve been shown in the video
    Just saying...

    I prefer the 767 300 for the person air vents. The 767 400 doesn’t have them it’s just a central ac vent system. I just flew the United 767 300 from Munich to Houston IAH and it was very comfortable and Smooth all flight and it was a 11.5 hour flight. I was impressed with the old bird
