B767 is one of the best job acconplishment of my life. I worked during the production of the first 60 airplanes of the 767 between 1981 - 1984 .My title was (Mechanical Electrical Avionics Functional Test) My position allowed me to install and to functionally make sure every electrical electronics hydraulics and mechanical are working per directive drawings. Most of my work was in the flight deck, the Avionic bay, the Wheelwell, and the engine pillons. My qualifications at the time were after being an Avionics ElectroMechanic Tech for the Air Force C130, C141, and C5 cargo airplanes. My position at the final assembly during the manufacturing process was quite fun. It was a job that I was very proud to be able to do for my country. I would have done it for free if I had to. It was such joy to just being able to actually see the entire process being put together so successfully at the final assembly of the factory. The first 10 airplanes were designed for 3 pilots, then we had to go back and retrofit them for 2 pilots at the flight deck, which was very challenging. We managed to accomplish it all successfully in a timely manner. These are memories that I will always cherish for being at the center of it. Yes, we did take pride working together at Boeing. United and AllNippon were the lunching airlines of the 767. In fact, I had some opportunities to go help out on the 757 program to help them get on the same track as of the 767. Both were a new innovative airplanes. Long live the 767.
My great uncle worked on both the 757 and 767 during his career as a wind tunnel / model engineer at Boeing. It is great to see these plane still out there!

Love the history of the 767. Never knew it was designed as a tri-jet! Great to see you progressing thru your career and still loving your job….your enthusiasm for flight is still very much infectious! Keep up the great work!
I loved watching this. My father was a Captain for United Airlines 1960-1994..I think (but not positive) that was the last airplane he flew before his retirement. I wish I had more conversations about his career/aviation before he passed. I appreciate you posting this, beautiful airplane! Thank you💙
Another awesome video, Swayne! I learned a lot about the 767, which is one of my favorite aircraft. It is very impressive how knowledgable and passionate your are about aviation!
This is probably one of the best videos of the 767 out there. Thanks Swayne keep it up! Hopefully we´ll get to see something like this for the 57 too ;)
What an excellent video. So much detail that is spot on. Also great marketing material for United, for one now at last I got to know the different cabin product. Can't wait for the 757 video. The powerhouse aircraft.
As someone who builds these fine jets you've done here more than justice! Love it! Makes me feel very proud to be a part of it. Would love to see an E/E bay tour of any jet you feature next!
767 freight pilot here… great video showcasing the history and build of the plane. I know these videos take a lot of time to produce, but they are always well done. Looking forward to your future posts!
It’s crazy to see how far you’ve come, I remember watching you on island hopping airlines and you’ve come to this! I am currently 13 Y.O and hope to start a similar journey in a few years and I hope to have the same journey you did!
Same here! I remember I was 13 just like you now when I started watching him when he was at mokulele. Now i'm 18 and got accepted in a flight school program which starts tomorrow. Best of luck to you, time will fly by and before you know it i'm sure you'll be in that left seat too!
Yet another hugely interesting and well produced video Mr. Martin! Thanks for taking us on the tour. (and also interesting to compare it to the 74 that I'm on now.)
I'm happy for you Swayne! I spent 7 1/2 years flying the 75 and 76. Great fun to fly. I found the 75 had better control harmony and felt more like a race car. Enjoy it!
I was always amazed that the 75 and 76 have the same type certificate! A few years ago, I got to do a tour of Delta Airlines' facilities at DTW, and during the tour they let us on both a 757 and 767. It was super cool seeing how similar the flight deck layouts of both airplanes are!
Incredible video! I learned so much from this and really enjoyed it! I've been a supporter of your channel since your days flying Cessna 208s with Mokulele Airlines. It's crazy how far you've come! I once had the pleasure of flying onboard a United 767-300 from Houston to Denver, and it was an incredible flight. It's awesome that you get to fly a fantastic aircraft with so much history and so many cool characteristics!

It looks like you're having a blast flying for United Airlines - as always, congratulations Swayne, I'm very happy for you! I also wanted to give you a quick update on where I'm at with my aviation career. On November 07, 2022, I was hired as a Flight Instructor at Arizona Aero-Tech / Double Eagle Aviation, Ryan Airfield (KRYN), Tucson, AZ. To date, I've had ten (10) students, 5 full-time (All Private Pilot) and 5 temporary (1 × Private Pilot, 3 × Instrument Rating, 1 × Commercial Pilot), accumulating 486.9 total flight hours, 381.9 hours PIC, 27.5 hours of simulator dual given and 24.2 hours of airborne dual given. Finally, I now have one passed checkride under my belt (Instrument recheck). Nine more to go towards Gold Seal status! I hope this message finds you and your family well. Take care Swayne and I look forward to flying with you as a pilot for United Airlines!!!!!
I absolutely love flying on the 767-300, and it was my first widebody flight, so flying in an airplane that big, especially on a domestic route, was kind of surreal. It's sad seeing them start to be retired in passenger service, however I'm excited to (eventually) see what boeing has in store for its replacement with the nma. Awesome video!
Thank You so much Swayne for this awesome 767 tour, such a remarkable airplane I've been a passenger on one numerous times very nicely done thanks again!
Hi Swayne - what a great tour. Your camera man kept up with you on the tour. The facts you presented was well explained. I was on a 767 from Boston to LA and the captain gave me a quick look in tour as the plan was deplaning, Major changes since 1978. I have noted to best seats to ask for. Very proud of your accomplishments keep up your professional work. Looking forward to your next video. dwb
Hi Mr. Martin. I'm glad to know where you are and what you're up to. I followed you in your early years with great interest due to your cheery disposition and solid work ethic. You're also very strong communicator. Keep at it and enjoy your life. You've earned it!
I love the cockpit, like a perfect mix of tech and vintage ... also a bit of military look to it ..... A GREAT and proven Boeing product. Congrats !!!!. Such an acomplishment !
I used to love listening to Channel 9 on United flights. I loved the chatters between cockpit crews of different airlines flying west of Anchorage and then near the Russian Far East on their way to Asian destinations.
One time I was flying UAL from LAX to DEN and was listening to channel 9 while still on the tarmac at LAX. There was this huge argument between ATC LAX and a few of the pilots about departure order as there was some tarmac construction which caused some traffic issues. We were second in line and our pilot happily offered our spot as we were just going to Denver which is very routine but ATC was like, No Denver, you are second. I've also heard of some other arguments between pilots on other flights on channel 9 and was surprised at how subjective but not unprofessional the communications could become.
I spent the last 9 years of my career flying these, mainly for the places we went - the 777 had far fewer desirable destinations in that era at my airline. Interesting points about the center systems, although it may be that they would have been included anyway, since the A-300-600 also had three hydraulic systems and I know for certain that there never was any plan for a 3 engine version of that airplane (it was designed, as a twin, to an AA specification that had been put forward for the jet that became the DC-10 - AA always wanted fewer engines). As a bid status, it was arguably the best at the airline, since it encompassed both wide and narrow body, short and long hauls (or at least as long as I was prepared to tolerate!), international and domestic. I'm glad I had the opportunity to fly it and the 757. Too bad we retired all of them a few years back.
This was awesome! HUGE fan of the 767/757! Please try and do something similar on the 757 - it's my favorite plane! Showing the quirky things about the plane and even your own pilot stuff around the cockpit is awesome! Like no other
Absolutely stunning airplane, I've never flown on a 767, it looks fantastic 👍 I'm a very nervous flyer but I love aviation 😊. Best of health and luck in your career ☘️
It is crazy how much room there is in the 767. I got to visit the cockpit of an A350 and was amazed by the size and comfort of it. I told the captain it was the size of my living room. I love the 767 and 757, and wish they were being produced in passenger variants.
I have flown on the United 767-300 in 2017 from Houston to Munich with my family. It is so cool that you are a pilot! It is my dream to be a pilot since my dad is.
Wow you are very fortunate to be flying this two amazing still classic airliner jets, I can see you really enjoying them! Thanks so much for the great videos.
Been following you for a long time and real happy for you that you've taken such a big step in your career! Congrats! I only regret that I started on the path so late and I'll never make it that far.
Hello Swayne, You have come a long way from the Cessna Caravan in Hawaii! Keep up the great work. You are an inspiration to all those people who aspire to be a pilot. I look forward to your next video.
Awesome videos man! I've been following your content since your videos in Hawaii! It's great seeing your career evolve from caravans to now 767's!! I appreciate the great info! I am 30 years old and starting flight school next year if everything goes to plan, financially of course. Wish me luck!
I think that when it comes to wide body aircraft in the aviation industry, planes like the 767 are kind of left out and not a lot of people care about or even talk about. For example, many aviation care + talk much more about the more “popular” aircraft like the 777,787,a330,a350, etc, than planes like the 767. It’s probably a reason why I think the 767 is awesome!
Having just passed my FAA dispatcher exam and studying the 737-800's weights, this thing is a beast!!! Amazing to have a personal guided tour. Thanks Swayne!
Swayne, each one of your videos has me making me want to quit my desk job to follow my 25 year dream of being a commercial pilot. Keep up the great work
I remember when we first got the -400s at CAL. They were brand new and we didn’t yet have a sim so six of us jumped in with an LCA and we each got to do three touch and goes up at Pease AFB to be considered blessed on 767.
It's been great (and a privilege) to follow you through your career, right up to the "big ones." Congratulations and much more success (and more videos, please).
What a great video sir!! Your parents must be so proud of you with such an amazing career so young. Your explanation of your Aircraft was spot on, not to mention your overall Charismatic attitude and Personality which will carry you far into your Flight Career… Thanks so much!! Happy Flying!!
Great review of this beautiful plane learned several things like aileron lockout and airspeed bugs.. old school. Keep up the nice vids 757 sometime soon. Thx for sharing.
I’m a licensed mechanic; I work on 767s at my company. Although ours are converted freighters flown by Amazon, and they’re equipped with GE engines, which I vastly prefer to the PW engines.
Fantastic video Swayne. I'm from Brazil and 767 is special to me because back in 1983 when i was 11yo a friend came from Seattle and give me a big post from a brand new Boeing 767 cockpit. Fly safe, wish you the best.
Great job. I've watched your videos on and off since the days of Hawaiian island and Envoy. Yes, the 767 is a great airplane. It's a mix of old school and somewhat new school. What you said about the gear is true, that the gear tilts forward 18° to allow it to fit in the gear, but also if the titl sensors fail, the gear handle will be locked out. I noticed the CWS buttons below the L,C,R FCC buttons are gone. We had them in my days of the -200. The 757 as you say, it's a different beast indeed. Same cockpit (minus the ADP, and a few buttons) and hopefully, you'll do a video on it in the future. Love the cabin arrangements. Great to see you moving up in equipment. Happy flying!
Thanks for this video and explaining the boeing united this is very interesting new to your channel I love planes I did not relize how big these planes were kym
You are so thorough and explain everything so clearly. United is quite fortunate to have you as a pilot. I really enjoy your videos. They are the best I’ve watched.
I flew both the 75 and the 76 as well. I'm glad you mentioned the difference in control forces between the two. I likened it to the difference between driving a Caddy and a pickup truck...that doesn't have/lost power steering. It's good to remember which A/C your flying when it's time to rotate!
Hi Swayne..I just discovered your channel. The United Livery caught my attention as I’m a QCL on our Airbus fleet. I’ve never flown Boeings other than plumbing the 727 my first year at UAL. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour of the 767 and learned a lot. I will continue to follow your channel and career and look forward to what comes next. Thanks for the professional production and so glad you’re out there putting a good face on our team. This really is a great place to work!
Thank you for sharing. I always loved flying this bird between LAX and JFK. So different from my first flight in 1957 when it took 18 hours to fly from Frankfort to JFK.
Ahhh, the 767, one of my favorites. I have flown on the 767 many times with both Delta and United. One of my longest flights was on a Delta 767-300 flying from Seattle to Osaka Japan, which was about ten hours and over 5,000 miles. Very comfortable, enjoyable flight. I also have the priviledge of loading 767 freighters for UPS at our hub in Louisville, so I get to see these beautiful birds up close every night. Swayne, I've been following your journey since the days of flying Cessnas in Hawaii, and it's great to see how far you've come. You're videos are always educational and enjoyable. Keep up the good work!
Ok, now you know about the 767. What do you want to learn about the 757?
Everything! I love your content, thank you. I finally got to fly on a 400 this past week between EWR and IAH. Love at first flight.

A transition from ERJ-145 to the 767 was a long journey, here you are living the moment

Berlin Airport at 6:43 🤩😍 - and thank you for this impressive video with so many details about the plane!
I’m a huge fan of the 767 and im exited for all of your upcoming 767 videos
Wow you are very fortunate to be flying this two amazing still classic airliner jets, I can see you really enjoying them! Thanks so much for the great videos.
Great video man, love how thorough and in-depth you were with explaining everything about the airplane. Keep up the good work!
Swayne you have come a long way. Thanks for showing us this plane and continued good luck in your future!
Great video Swayne! Thanks for the primer on the beauties you’re flying these days.
Been following you for a long time and real happy for you that you've taken such a big step in your career! Congrats! I only regret that I started on the path so late and I'll never make it that far.

Hello Swayne,
You have come a long way from the Cessna Caravan in Hawaii! Keep up the great work. You are an inspiration to all those people who aspire to be a pilot. I look forward to your next video.
Thank you Swayne. So happy to see your career path going so well. And love your content videos.

The 757 is like a pencil while the 767 is like a Sharpie.
Thank you sharing a beautiful aircraft..I am glad I have flown on our 767s out of Chicago..
Swin goes from the crj or Embraer over to the big boys. Congrats Swain. The 767-400er is my favorite one.
Thanks for the tour Swayne. Be safe and all the best!
I, probably like all of your other thousands of subscribers, are very pleased to see your career progressing... Congrats once again
It's been great (and a privilege) to follow you through your career, right up to the "big ones." Congratulations and much more success (and more videos, please).
Retired on B767-400. Great job kid. Would have enjoyed flying with you. Very professional.
@@CaptainSwoopif your over 55 and Sawyn is under 26 hes a kid in ny book. If they're young enough to be your kids.
Its a compliment of sorts.
When you get older you will know why lol. Anyone under 50 is a kid
What a great video sir!! Your parents must be so proud of you with such an amazing career so young. Your explanation of your Aircraft was spot on, not to mention your overall Charismatic attitude and Personality which will carry you far into your Flight Career… Thanks so much!! Happy Flying!!
Not a pilot just an aviation buff! I love your videos man keep it up and enjoy a wonderful career
Former cabin crew.. LOVE the 76. It is the absolute best plane to work.
I love Love LOVE the 76. Best seating arrangement of any aircraft.
Fantastic video, Swayne, thanks for making the effort!
Thanks for the tour, had to imagine your progression in just the past few years. Life is good.
Fantastic video Swayne.
I'm from Brazil and 767 is special to me because back in 1983 when i was 11yo a friend came from Seattle and give me a big post from a brand new Boeing 767 cockpit.
Fly safe, wish you the best.
Thanks for this video! Such a cool over view and also my favorite Boeing airframe. Keep them coming bro!
Swayne you've come a long way really fast. I've been watching you progress for a long time. Congrats and keep climbing.
Wonderful! One of your best vids. Especially appreciate the clues about seating. Thank you!
Thanks for this video and explaining the boeing united this is very interesting new to your channel I love planes I did not relize how big these planes were kym
You are so thorough and explain everything so clearly. United is quite fortunate to have you as a pilot. I really enjoy your videos. They are the best I’ve watched.

The 767 is my favorite commercial jet, right next to the MD-11 and DC-10. Lovely plane.
i love the 767 Plane. This is my Fav.
Congratulations on your 767 assignment Swayne, thanks for the video!
Thank you for sharing. I always loved flying this bird between LAX and JFK. So different from my first flight in 1957 when it took 18 hours to fly from Frankfort to JFK.
Does UA help with editing and animations? Because they’re incredibly lucky to have your talents!
Very interesting video about the Boeing 767! Thumbs up and thank you for using part of one of my videos.
Excellent video man. Type of pilot to put passengers at ease while in the air. Well done, props to United
