I still remembered many years ago when MAS Airline was one of the best Airline in the world . Really hope that in the future MAS will regain her glory once again .
I hope so too. 2014 was a horrible year for the airline, they were technically bankrupt and I'm glad they even still exist. Let's hope they will flourish again. I absolutely love their crew, food + service plus I love Malaysia. So wish them all the best.
@@petermuller5800 would you mind sharing what was the main cause of their downfall? Did their service got bad at some point or something?
@@luckyeevee13 in 2014, two of their 777s crashed. One crashed at the sea and still hasn't been found yet. The other however got shot downed over a warzone in Ukraine

Glad to see Malaysian presenting a good product. They have all the ingredients for a good airline. I hope they regain the greatness that was once theirs.
The only missing thing is MH inconsistency in service. out of about 4-5 flight on MH I found that 2 of the flight service were great 2 is about average service
They always had a good product. The two accidents would have destroyed many other airlines. But they came back from the brink. For that they deserve huge respect.

MH has always had a great long haul economy product - the 744s had tons of legroom and well-padded seats. The ill-fated 772s had slightly less legroom but still very comfortable and IIRC LAX-NRT-KUL they served 4 full meals plus mid-flight snacks. They also have super nice crews. Breakfast: you really have to have the nasi lemak. You missed a treat.
Whoa... that touch down on Heathrow was remarkably smooth. I was looking out for the wobble in your video once the plane touched the runway but it never came. Impressive indeed!
Most if not all MH often have a nice & smooth landings! Good job to their pilots and crew.

2:41 yes they deploy A350s for KUL-NRT and KUL-AKL routes but its not guaranteed. They will, most of the time, use their other widebody, the A330-300 for those routes. Only the KUL-LHR-KUL route will have guaranteed A350s used.
Sydney gets the A350 irregularly. A very under rated airline.
Their A330s are also acceptable. Entertainment is the same, seat aren't so much different. Plus I love the 2-4-2 configuration of Airbus. I personally don't like middle seats, so love sitting on the 2-seats row of the A330 (window or aisle).
i really hope malaysia airlines will recover as soon as possible..

My favourite holiday destination Kuala Lumpur favourite hotel is Four Seasons and HOTEL EQ love bukit bintang love KLCC and Pavilion shopping mall absolutely amazing hospitality and great customer service
Nice to know that you enjoyed the current MH experience. I used to like flying MH too, but after the pandemic their schedule reliability is sadly not good enough. Hope they can be a better airline like they used to be.

Yes I hope Malaysia Arline will be in the glory again ! It always was good Arline always great crew always great products! Unfortunately this Arline suffer so much in the past ! I never forget few years ago during my trip to India I became very sick and have to go back fast to Australia! Malaysia person on airport upgrade me to business class so I can have more comfortable travel back home!

You didn’t know? MH was one of the earliest who received 5-Star Skytrax even before Qatar got it. But after series of unfortunate events….they’re where they’re now
Is an airline have a good width, legroom, and food, and service on economy ( and of course everything else in the plane), if a 5 star airline for me

One of the cheapest full service carriers to fly from Australia to Asia! The quality of the product is great! And service is fantastic

On the second leg of my trip from London - Doha - KL, had not been on a MAS flight for quite some times. The plane (A330-300) was a lit old, especially the entertainment system. However the hospitality and services I received was outstanding even for economic class, unlike the first leg flight (Qatar Airway), the staffs of first flight were overwhelmed and almost attended to no request even after several requests. The MAS flight service staffs on the other hand were attentive, friendly and offered almost too many meals (for me). It was only a 7 hours flight but they served pre-flight drinks, Breakfast, after-meal dessert and snacks to the passengers. Glad to see the improvements and I’ll certainly book my next flight with them!

Well done Malaysia Airlines. A great flight for an incredible price of ca. 370 euro including seat reservations and 35 kgs. baggage. Other airlines, e.g. Austrian from BKK , would easily charge double.

@@oshkoshbgood. Yes, sadly it's difficult to see MH becoming profitable after the tragedies of flights 370 and 17 and with the toughest competitor in Asia, Air Asia. Loudmouth Tony Fernandes has announced 2023 Air Asia X flights all over Europe, including David's home base of Vienna.....I'm not holding my breath.

Great video! Flew MH in 2004 all the way to New Zealand with a stop over in Penang for a week. Super attentive cabin crew,would not hesitate to fly with them again!
I still remember how their cabin used to smell..premium-ish 20 years back. That MAS scents. Wondered if it's still the same. Haven't been on since 2015.

You missed a really really important point - the economy plus seats at the front have got foot rests and they’re brilliant . Massive improvement on economy

I dont have any regret when taking MAS Airline, its so great, not luxurious but what can you expect, even from economy class, they serve us with 100% service, good job MAS

I hope you didn’t need to use the lavatory too many times because of the food poisoning. One time I had it in KL and I flew KUL-HKG, went to the lavatory three times on a 3.5 hour flight😂 it wasn’t fun. Great video David!

Awesome review on Malaysia Airlines' sole European route, and I just knew you'd have a great time flying with them! Though, I do have to say that British Airways shouldn't have discontinued the Kuala Lumpur route; I would've loved to see you review Kuala Lumpur to London and back on British Airways. Hopefully, Malaysia Airlines will go head-to-head again with British Airways.

Good to know that their main meal service is nearly identical to what we usually have for regular domestic flights, skip for the desserts and appetizers. While not Emirates or Singapore levels of economy experience this will do for me.

I live in england and I used to fly on MAS to KL non-stop via manchester airport (circa 2001/2003). Loved the service and the food. Unfortunately, MAS has stopped flying from manchester which is a shame.
There's really not much demad coming from Manchester, it would be unprofitable for such routes to exist.

As a precaution against food poisoning you could consider carrying a pack of charcoal tablets. A relative of mine travelling with her husband headed for the nearest pharmacy (Indonesian: Apotek) when her husband got food poisoning on a Bali holiday. He was very ill but the charcoal tablets quickly absorbed the toxins and he recovered quickly.
