      You might not be counting your stitches correctly. Or your tension is off. I hope that helps.

      Have you tried going up a hook size to see if that helps? You can also try blocking your circle by pinning it out into shape as this should help it lay flat 😊

    I started crocheting 2 days ago having never even touched a hook before that. Using your videos I have now got double and treble crochets down (having my work checked at a local wool shop just to make sure I'd done it right), and will be trying the flat circle at some point this weekend. You explain things in this video so I find them very easy to understand, even to the point that I can say what your next instruction was going to be, before you did! ☺️ So thank you and please keep posting videos (more beginner projects would be good, I want to make one of those folded down top baskets using a flat circle base, and square, but don't know what to do with the sides - hope you can help). (For my own use) US terms:
    Magic circle
    Chain 3
    11x Double (chain 3 acts as 12th)
    (Increase by number in original round)
    Chain 3
    Increase in every space (2 doubles in 1) -> you'll end up with 24
    Slip stitch in chain 3
    Chain 3
    (Increase by 12 each row)
    Increase every other space (1-2-1-2-1) end up with 36 stitches
    Slip stitch in chain 3
    Chain 3
    Increase in first space -> single double etc (2-1-1-2-1-1-2-1-1)
    Slip stitch in chain 3
    (2-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-1-1-1)

      If you stop increasing as described your work will start going upwards like the sides of a round basket. If this is what you want to make, no problem. But if you want in to remain flat you need to continue the increases.

    I have extreme issues with retaining information and I learn things at a very slow rate, possibly related to my autism? Not sure. I understand this is beginner friendly but I can't seem to grasp what is happening or retain any information on what you're doing or how to do it with my hands. Does that get better if I just rewatch it a few times or should I take a different approach to it? I'm usually a visual learner but now I'm faced with the issue where I'm not retaining what I'm seeing and I wouldn't understand verbally being told. I feel like I need someone to physically guide my hands at this point and sit with me for hours before I'll have a chance at getting past the first loop. It's quite disheartening

      @@bellacococrochet i’m going to ask a stupid question and I probably should go back to school but here goes. For the rounds that end with 36 and so forth, should that last double crochet that is done in the round be alone? Should I just be ending the round with one double crochet in the stitch? Sometimes I think I get thrown off by stitch placement at the end of the round.

    Lovely pattern, making my own now in grey and it looks great so far. I've just recently taken up crochet and have definitely been bitten by the bug.

      I am pretty tight with my tension, try a larger crochet hook and see if that helps. I usually have to use a half size or a full size larger than what is recommended for whatever yarn I am using.

    This video explains the number of stitches so well. no one tells about considering the initial chain in the magic ring to be considered as a stitch.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Год назад

      The trick is to move the stitches along to the side to create a bit more room; however if you’re struggling then you can make a bigger chain circle to start of five or even six which will give you room space 😊

    thank you for this video. i just learned to crochet, but ive been trying to get all the "theory" down before i delve into any projects. im not really a pattern type of person, every video ive seen about flat circles doesnt really explain how to increase in a general sense, its all project based.

    How do you change colour for this? add a new colour at the end of a round through the sc or ?

    • @happyflower8999
      @happyflower8999 5 лет назад

      You can change colour at the end of a round by pulling yarn of the new colour through the last slip stitch to close a round with it... then you start a new round with the new colour...(hope you understood my explanation)...!
