I have to say, the best thing about your work is that you reuse EVERYTHING, you don't replace anything with new parts. Using the existing hardware keeps the age of the guitar, but takes just a couple of years off the damage. Great work.

El Maya was a cool guitar brand and they made some very nice own model guitars too like the EM series (1000-1100-1200-1300) until the factory in Kobe Japan was destroyed by an earthquake. Very "Daion" like.
Truly an 80's gem, if you have one... keep it. (I didn't)

    It's a Maya 🙂🙂🙂
I have a '75 Maya that looks exactly like a Gibson ES-175 and, according to people, just as good if not better...
It doesn't surprise me that the Maya brand produced strat copies as well...
Back then the Japanese guitar companies produced high-quality that original designs and copies of American classics that made Fender and Gibson very very nervous...
    Anyway...Great work as usual...

Too bad you couldn't eradicate the stupid KISS shadow and shadows from the reflective tape on the fretboard and headstock. I found an Ibanez Artwood acoustic in the trash which I restored for my daughter. It had stickers all over the front which left the same sort of shadows but they all faded in time. Maybe these will, too.

I do like vintage Japanese guitars but they also produced low end crap too...not every Japanese guitar is a gem..

Are you aware that collectors pay lots and lots of money for guitars that SHOW their age? Cleaning is one thing, but you need to be very careful. This job has cost you maybe a thousand dollars! Now it is not that great old Maya anymore! Why did you do it that thorough? Better leave it looking old, but clean and grease just the spots that need attention. These tuners for example, make them work again, but do not make them shine like new. Good thing is, this is one original Maya less, these untouched Maya's will one day be worth a million dollars, thanks to fanatic cleaners. Do you understand? You did a good job, now you can play this guitar, and it looks good. But really, it is a vintage guitar, it is pretty good quality, you really should not change the looks. It is simply not "just an old guitar".
