@@bara7331 you're dumb bro, it's clearly faked. If a bass gets to that level of deterioration it has to be left in the woods for like 2 months. edit: You can see moss and rust on the frets, aswell as grinding marks on the body. That is not natural, someone took an angle grinder to that shit
At first, I couldn't believe that you were polishing the screws - then I saw the results, and recognized that was going to make the bass easier to use and repair, so it was worth the effort! It's a great-looking instrument, and I haven't even gotten to the repaint portion of the program.

Amazing job, the finished result is impressive. I wish I had the patience to do this but thanks, this has inspired me to use some of the techniques learned here, to do some jobs on an old Precision I have that's in need of some attention. Many thanks.
Saludos cordiales 🎸
Thanx for posting...very nice to watch your skills...and the no music fact is great...no nerve-racking tootling...was that baking soda in the neck plate screws, or something else😉? Regards👋
You started with a beat up scratched and just dirty bass that hasn’t see any love. But now my friend the bass is sporting a new paint job and deep cleaning new strings and it a beautiful guitar”bass” that anyone would be proud of playing! It sounds wonderful too. Thanks for sharing with us Peace Out 🤟🎸❤️ 36:50
Al Thor you did a very good job restoring this instrument, I think it’s fake how it got in to that condition in the first place, that part I think was created by you for dramatic effect!
Wow...was this instrument tied to the back of a pickup truck and dragged along pavement and slushy salt melt....then packed away for a decade? Very nice repair.
Excellent work on this bass! I was impressed by how much different and how much prettier it looked after you were done with it. It sounded pretty good, too.
, what a cool video my man! That action is so high turn that truss rod and drop the strings, you can see how high the strings are when you play it and hear it
WOW! I wasn't going to watch all of this, but I couldn't help myself. Such a good job and great to see all the components of a bass guitar. Great video!!!!
Applause for the fine work you're doing. You've given me ideas. For the body (It appears to be alder, maybe) prior to applying the stain, give it 1 or 2 coats of Super Blonde Shellac (or sanding sealer-same thing). This will eliminate any splotching (uneven stain color) with the stain. Hope this helps.
The kettle was on overtime it looked freezing I do hope you get to your destination without anymore issues , another splendid video thank you for posting it
this happened to a bass I sold on reverb. it seems like an odd thing to happen during shipping, but somehow it did. pretty wild that you were able to get them apart!! I will keep this vid handy just in case...
Here's a tip for your next "restoration". Don't rust the screws all the way through, just the exposed head. That will make it more believable, There are several more give-ways here, but we'll start small.
A round of genuinely wholesome applause to you for rejuvenating what looked like a totally lost cause!!🎸 The brown stain finish on the body looked like it might not work, but with the pearl scratch plate it looks great. The bit I REALLY like is the varnished finish on the headstock-I have a cream/olympic white Squier 60s vibe Jazz with tortoiseshell plate and the head is a gorgeous golden varnish and that's what sold the whole bass to me. I still have people tell me its the best looking effort in my collection of five which includes an Epiphone Thunderbird IV!! I would've only made one slightly different adjustment to your Brian here - as well as replacing the controls, I would've also swapped the tuning peg tops where they are blistered, as they are quite noticeable. But Im sure you had a reason to leave them as they are...
The crackling on the tuner heads looks grotty against all the rest of the beautiful restoration. I thought you were just preserving the original equipment till I saw that you were replacing the control knobs. Maybe swap out those tuner heads, too.
It's very humid in Japan, and that causes the "patina" that you see on the metal parts as well as helping dirt to stick to the instrument if it is stored carelessly for a long time. I've bought several old Greco bass guitars from Japan, and despite looking like they had been well cared for they still had some of the same signs of humidity on things like the bridge and tuners.
A cheap vibratory tumbler would work great cleaning up the hardware, while you're busy with other stuff. Then when you're ready to reassemble, just pull it from the tumbler. Maybe one or two pieces might need some touch up. Great restoration!!! 🤘😎🤘
Aaaargh! I’m late to the party! Better late than never. Cool channel, loved the chatter. And of course I remember the Telecaster Bass / Microphone all too well. I remember fitting knobs on it from an old TV set 😂 Love it…
Anyone who treat a bass with no love, should not ever play the bass again.... Good job, Sir👌👌👍👍🎸🎸

I liked the original color but going to the wood finish was a thousand times better! Brian sounds great. What a transformation. Love it.
The best thing on this video: No music, just the video!! Just a relief.
Awesome restore, majestic playing at the end. Breathtaking-both!

Polished screws have absolutely no benefit as far as easier to use and repair. Wtf are you babbling about?

The life of Brian has been a hard one.
Nice color! Nice work!
Esta pregunta me la hago siempre ¿como hacen para olvidar un instrumento de tal manera que quede en esta condición? Un excelente trabajo
Es porque la mayoría de la veces es falso.

por que tienes muchos y ocupas comprar fundas xd

Gorgeous finish, the combination with the pick guard is amazing!
As a bass player, this feels like you repairing our weapon. Thank you for saving this lil guy 🙏
Страхотна реставрация. Браво. Продължавай все така.👍👍👍👍👍
このBrian、25年位前に出たBacchus GLAY JIROモデルの廉価版ですよね。
懐かしい。
This is a quality Bacchus bass and deserves some love.
the band slimeball the sticker is from is a 2005 Japanese punk band that im happy to report was awesome.

great resto, the only thing you forgot was to insulate the pickup cavities. (that black rubberized paint inside adjustment pot cavity)

Wow ,that bass was an absolute wreck, you can tell it had plenty of hours on it , excellent job .
No, it was just abused. Any Bass player worth his salt that would put that many "hours" on this bass wouldn't have let it go like this and destroy it.
I'm impressed! That bass is gorgeous after the restoration! Love that dark brown stain with the pearl pick guard.
I don't regret watching this at all. Great job in giving that beat up bass a second life.
I love the fact that you chose to let the wood on the body shine instead of painting it great job born again and ready to thump
Loved how you used every single parta again. Really nice job.
Excellent work on this bass! I was impressed by how much different and how much prettier it looked after you were done with it. It sounded pretty good, too.
I can’t believe u were able to restore this back to new with all the same parts, great job!
Poor old ‘Brian’, forgotten and at the end of life, suddenly revived great work! I personally like mine a loved looking
I was hoping to see the bass played at the end but I was not ready for you to absolutely shred so hard

Big respect for all the hours of work he spent restoring all of the hardware parts. To be honest, as lazy as i am, i would've bought new parts.

Well done, beautiful restauration job! I like the natural wooden body with a dark satin varnish very much! Kudos!
aw. it had so much character before, though. woulda been cool to just see it restored as-is.

I'm surprised you don't use an electric screwdriver. You made an amazing job.
Did you find this at the bottom of a lake?! How on earth does a guitar get this dirty...looks amazing. Love the stain on the body.

This was an instrument of good quality for all those parts to be restorable. Cheaper hardware would not do so well. This was very nice to watch

Это что же надо было сделать, чтобы довести бас до такого состояния, как мы видим в начале? В сыром подвале его держать? И снег им счищать?
