Umm... He restored the guitar. He made it look as close to original as possible. He removed everything from the guitar that made it look different than the original. Did you even watch the video? How is the restored guitar "the most punk rock thing ever"? How is it more punk rock than what he started with? I need a real punk rocker like you to explain this.
To be honest, i did lokenthe raw original look with the peeled paint and stickers. Just gave it a lot of character. Good restoration though, i just would not have had the heart to remove any of that.
The guitar in this video is the one I used to play in the past. You can listen to its recording on my channel. The guitars I currently use are an SG and a Mustang.
I regret trading mine, for a Craftsman rollaround tool cabinet. Best sounding guitar I've ever had. I think I paid 75 bucks for it. Not going to name who got it, but he is a current Gibson endorser I played with back around 2004.
Just went and listened, very cool stuff-yeah, it definitely has that hi-fi, 3D sound, like an old LP or SG before they went to the T-top pickups. It's a TERRIFIC fusion guitar, too.
For all those little individual parts like little screws and such, try getting a rock tumbler with fine sand in it. You could toss all those in it and let it run to sand off the rust.
I've recently had a lot of success treating rusted chrome parts with rust remover (phosphoric acid). I find this a much better solution that abrasives like polish and wire brush etc. It chemically destroys the rust very quickly and doesn't damage or remove the chrome. Highly recommended.
I like how you left the dents and chips and scratches in it to maintain its rough around the edges character. As usual, it looks and sounds great! 端の周りに粗いキャラクターを維持するために、へこみとチップとスクラッチを残した方法が気に入っています。いつものように、見た目も聞こえます!
"I was just sitting there minding my own bidness, then someone doused me in black finger paint and exposed my metal to an acid - it burned...then they put stickers all over me and more black finger paints. What's weird is, the next morning the person took me all apart and took all of it off again. I guess I made it to yt. I got some camera time in. And everyone thought I was a prized relic of yesteryear, like all the greats that came before me."
I spent all of 96-97 going down the street to the music store debating while I made payments for my Mustang or Jag Stang which one I was going to get. It was a real conundrum. They had the red and aqua Jags and white and aqua mustang. My layaway choice kept changing. Someone bought the white mustang (which was the one I probably would have ended up with) but got thr aqua that I still have to this day. It’s color changed in 2005 to black but it is cool as shit still
I like the design, only reversed so that the longer horn is on the bottom for a right handed player. The thumbnail picture would be a left handed model, short horn on top, long horn on bottom. One of the best shapes I've seen in awhile.
nice Curt Cobain guitar..yeah, old hard plasic stickers are a real PITA on guitars..you really need a good ventilation for all that solvents, they can also make your pickguards warp
I think it would be cool to see you restore a guitar with the grungy punk stickers and/or paint similar to this one and keep as much of the looks as possible.
Oh man can’t believe to see so many people crying over someone’s decision to spray paint and sticker bomb his own guitar… A Kurt Cobain designed guitar!!! I wonder how you’ll feel when you find out what he did to most of his guitars haha
There were likely only 2 made in 1994. Both were given directly to Cobain himself. The first commercial releases from 95-96, were marked Made in Japan. Later releases were marked Crafted in Japan, more recently, Made in Mexico. The T in the serial number denotes this guitar was made in 1995.
Any plans using an ultrasonic cleaner? It's will help clean special parts especially the bridge plate without getting scratches from the steel brush. Great job as always.
I've been really enjoying watching these restorations, but I'm curious where you actually get hold of these guitars. When I look on the net for repair projects all I seem to find are shitty old Chinese catalogue guitars from the nineties.
Man this guitar sounds great. The black paint aside, I would’ve loved to see it in this playable condition and still have all the sticker history on it. Another cool project.
Ahh i have a blue one that I've had from new. Early 2000s. It's so playable with the short neck. Those pickup selector switches were a health hazard though. Used to put white insulation tape over them when playing a gig. Nice job!
Not giving a crap about an original Jagstang is the most punk rock thing ever.

Not the restauration.
its also something that Cobain would've done
@@XLBiker13youre so annoying

You got reading comprehension issues. Lol
Thank for leaving this raw punk look, by not repainting
Was hoping he would leave the stickers :) Best Regards and Best Wishes!

I was sad he didn’t too but in all fairness that stuffs hard to preserve compared to everything else
To be honest, i did lokenthe raw original look with the peeled paint and stickers. Just gave it a lot of character. Good restoration though, i just would not have had the heart to remove any of that.
Would have cleaned the hardware and sealed all the stickers and paint.
I would've just cleaned the sludge from the fretboard and polished the frets
If you own that guitar keep as you would keep your guitar don’t listen to anybody except your heart ❤️.
That Jag Stang was just a Minor Threat

Not the worst thing you've ever worked on!😄 A buddy of mine has that same Roland amp, sounds great.👍👍
It was beautiful when you began. It was beautiful when you finished.

good job mate!!!!!
Fantastic flip! Love that color. Great job leaving its “patina” intact without the paint and stickers!!!!!
This is what we call a natural relic 👍
Flawless as always. Nicely done!!!
That guitar has one heck of a tone. Clean ones were beautiful!
To be honest, the Roland Chorus may also be the reason for the beautiful clean tones.
This JagStang cleaned up great...the wear on it looks awesome!
This guitar have a real story behind. Not like one of these brand new "relic" fakes.
The guitar is iconic with the legend of Kurt Cobain.
23:13 The "Designed by Kurt Cobain" decal is missing though
Kurt would have strung it up left handed and plugged in, shredded until it wouldn't shred no more, then destroyed by the end of the set.

Walk Together, Rock Together is the first punk album I ever heard. Back in 1985.
Surprised to see this one not get stripped and repainted
Amazing work! Love your videos :D I wonder where u get so many guitars like that! lol
i liked the way it looked at the start but i also like the way your gloves sound so i keep watching
Perfect. Great find! These are not common! Great resto by leaving it original. 🎸
Fantastic job man!
what riff you play in 28:22? sounds groovy and punk)

A channel that Un- Relics and Un-Punks guitars.
I Love It!
I thought it was funny that the stickers held up better than whatever paint they used.
みんなすごいけど、ペグが綺麗になっていくところが特に心地良いですね。Fine mente。
Where do you find all these guitars? and what do you do with them after you clean and repair them?
ebay and market place i guess
I would love to know the answer to those questions too!
I wish I could read the product cans. Watching these videos is like meditating with guitars. I can't wait to see the endings.

Love the Slapstick stickers.

where do i get those kind of stickers??
Amazon or a music store probably
Looks great. Love the song choices to show it off.
When a guitar has more personality than the owner. So glad you restored it to it own beauty.
It looks cool in his original form but it’s punk phase looks great too.. I see a lot of personality in that tbh
@@enriquepastor3626 yeah it probably smells like piss, beer, cigarettes and cheap amphetamine

Bro I have the most badass old school guitar. Would love to see it fixed up. It's a Memphis. Looks like an explorer sort of.
That guitar lived a tough life.

Since it bears the "MADE IN JAPAN" label, it's a premium Jag-Stang made during the Fujigen era, isn't it?
This guitar is probably a Dyna instrument made from 2007-2010.
no@@quinquereme1124
It has a "Made in Japan T 022247" serial number, which puts it in production 2007-2010 by Fujigen.
@@robertlewis5439 I still have my 1995 Sonic Blue, one of the easiest guitars to play!

What kind of sticker remover do you use?
Great work, as usual.
seeing that guitar like that, hurt me.

when you put the tuner in the headstock it shlurps.
Love the Minor Threat!
This guitar is my dream! And the color is gorgeous! Candy Apple red!
It’s fiesta red…….
when you tested the pickups at the start, they were both turned off at the 3-way switches. just saying.
Never would have guessed the JagStangs came with mini pots. Great restoration though.
we're just a minor threat!!!
do you know other songs?
Your videos are excellent.

The only thing I have to say is it could have used getting new frets.
