  • Mark Smith takes us on a walk through one of the oldest aero slubs in the UK, the West London Aero Club based at White Waltham Airfield.
A gentle stroll on a Sunday afternoon as Mark talks about vintage aircraft , learning to fly, and the heritage of this amazing airfield.
There is something in this video for everyone who is interested in aviation and learning to fly.

Worked the and learned to fly in the late 1970s. We had two Chimpunks and a bunch of PA28-140s, 180, Arrow, Apache and Aztec. It was owned by Maurice Looker, ex RAF before the current owners. It was inside the London CTR at that time and we had a height restricted 'freelane' so we could get out of the control zone west to Twyford with a circuit height of 800ft agl. Glad to see you are now just outside Heathrow's airspace.
