STICK Around for the latter end of this episode of Airborne… Got question about MOSAIC… EAA Boss Jack Pelton has a lot of info to impart! It's been years since we’ve seen a new AMERICAN powerplant…. Much less one that takes advantage of MODERN technology… but DeltaHawk will be going to production in the first half of next year and helping to modernize GA in a big way. Sadly; we lost Tom last year while Oshkosh 2022 was in the works, after a prolonged illness and we will really miss the guy. But his work lives on and now he has been memorialized with a stunning statue in the EAA Museum. Daher is here… and taking over the single-engine turbine market… They are showing their much upgraded Kodiak rough and ready high-wing turbine… now adorned with a monster Hartzell five blade prop while the 80th TBM 960 is already getting handed over to a new owner… All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!

16:00 This is something that I am hoping gets added, as well. Allowing owners to trade in the standard airworthiness certificate for their airplane to grant them the privilege of doing more than just basic preventative maintenance is something that is currently allowed under Primary Category. Nobody actually did this because there were other issues with Primary Category, but I think the idea is more workable under MOSAIC.

Deltahawk has been going to production next year for the better part of 20 years. Hope that the certificate means that it will be real this time. The price jump over the years from $40k to $90k will not help much. That is turbo Lycoming money.

half the fuel burn, but keep your 70 year old engine.

The engine production process needs FAA certification also (FAR part 33?), and then I think you need an STC for every aircraft application.

@@thewheelieguy I am just hoping that the STC for the DeltaHawk engines goes over smoothly, RAM does STC 160HP engines for Cessna's and Piper's and its straight forward. Getting this STC'd like that into legacy Arrow and Archer models would be a nice change. There are some pretty exciting changes coming to the GA industry very very soon, if not about a decade or two late.
