  • This stupid scammer went to work fixing my computer before he bothered to check and see if my payment info was correct. Too bad Malware Bytes and CC Cleaner didn't fix my rigged hosts file.

    My apologies if the audio at the end and the scammer scorecard is a little off. I recorded it in a hotel room while I was pretty drunk and dealing with a severe case of jetlag.
    Special thanks to FoolBoyMedia on FreeSound.org for the awesome dubstep track!

      +Audiojack This is true, many believe they're legitimate tech support, and some are probably afraid to question their bosses about it because if they're unsure themselves and they question their boss it could be taken as an offence. Pretty sad actually - if un-employement was high and these were the only jobs available at the time I'd totally take it if it meant putting food on the table, even if I knew my self I were scamming people.

    when you pay them to "fix" your computer they install some cheap antivirus software and do very little to almost no work on your computer and tell you everything is "fixed" and they just scammed you for hundreds of dollars when you could've done the same thing on your own for only $20

      Well it's the tech support scammer, connected through a free support software found online (LogMeIn Rescue). Basically gives him access to the computer to "fix' your computer.

    • @samidellaidella532
      @samidellaidella532 7 лет назад

      I'm pretty sure LogMeIn Rescue isn't free. They might have pirated it, who knows, but I think it's a paid service . The might have the usual 1 week free trial. For them that's a lot of Rupees to waste. I can't imagine that they hook that many people. Maybe 1 out of 500? Then they probably get 2% and the rest goes to the real scammer who hires these guys who do his dirty work.

    Where did you get the fabricated routing/account number from that you use in these? Do you type random numbers, or is it a routing number dedicated to artificial uses (like a 555 phone number)?

    Oddly enough, running MBAM, CCleaner, and AdwCleaner are frequently enough to 'unclog' quite a few systems...; did he not resort to showing any bogus eventviewer or stopped services? :)

    I noticed the "report abuse" at the bottom of the support.me box. Does this type of activity qualify? Can you report them? Also you can report them on PayPal or whatever pay service they use.
    I would be nice to limit these scammers access to team viewer and other access controls.

    • @EachEverything
      @EachEverything  8 лет назад +1

      Hey Charles, yes you can report them to LogMeIn/TeamViewer/etc and they'll look into it. I do it with every scammer.

    It is just stupid to only accept cheque where he said it themselves, victim can cancel it within 3 days. They should take credit or debit card where transaction is immediate and permenant after that they can just run away.
