      Don't let it cloud your judgement of non-accented people. There are a lot of people out there that would take everything you own including the shirt from your back and not feel any remorse. Keep your guard up around people you don't know, even if someone seems 'trust worthy'.

    Thank You!!!I showed this to my mom. The elderly are very susceptible to these kinds of scams, both on line and via the telephone. Although she only uses the computer for very basic things like reading the news, e-mail, checking out sales, and I put fairly decent virus protection on there, occasionally she gets pop ups or weird e-mails. The pop ups are invariably filled with tales of how badly the computer is functioning etc... and how these sites will fix for "free", Several times she has received the "IRS" e mail that scared the bejesus out of her. I've pretty much drilled it into her, NEVER click on any of these, and the fact that the IRS will always send an official document via mail (not to mention the web address was wrong),but 2 of her friends haven't been as lucky. One had several hundreds of dollars extorted via Email. The other several thousand via phone all to "fix" things that were never broken to begin with. Neither are well off to begin with. These scammers are boils on the asses of humanity.

    I fell victim to this twice!😕About 8 years ago I got the same call. They messed up my laptop so bad. I didn't know it was a scam. Called back for "tech" support and nothing! I was told I would have to pay more!
    I also fell victim again this past summer. At the end of the call, I didn't have the 300 bucks n they messed it up! I took my laptop to where I bought it, and they told me on how it was a scam! Luckily they were able to clean up what the scammers did!
    Thank you for making the videos! They still call me! Every time I answer the phone, I tell them they are con artists and reporting the number to the police...they hang up!
    I would love to scam them! 😂

    • @cburgess5294

      the way he did it was pretty slick though. While the tree was running he used the command to change the text color to red and then typed the warning message at the c prompt and hit enter a few times. This made the screen turn red and the error message appear once the tree finished. I had to pause it and go back a few times to see it because it all happens so fast at the end of the 'scan'.

    Microsoft does not operate like this.

    • @Volkaer
      @Volkaer 8 лет назад +5

      They do now. Windows 10 comes pre-installed with DRM, allows Microsoft to control what software you run on your systems, blocking users from customing their systems' settings, and automatic updates that cannot be disabled, stopped, and won't let your computer be used until the update is done.
      Heck, I would far rather deal with these 'old school' scammers. At least they are illegal, they know it, and there are plenty of ways of avoiding them. You can't really do anything with Microsoft and Win10 - at least once they drop support for Win7 - other than going to Linux. Which I'll have to think about moving to in a few years from the looks of things :)

    • @seymour5575

    • @SandyDiVa
      @SandyDiVa 8 лет назад

      Volkier Neigh you could get a Mac and install Windows on it. Because it's UNIX and doesn't have the software structure, it could stop the auto interference from Windows servers? Maybe?

    • @seymour5575
      @seymour5575 8 лет назад

      Hmmm.

    • @Volkaer
      @Volkaer 8 лет назад +2

      Sandy DiVa Fair point, and good suggestion, but I don't want to cripple myself with inferior hardware that I cannot customise or upgrade, for double the price, only to install the OS which is the only thing I deem as a problem. Especially when there's the Linux alternative.
      To be honest, I would have switched to Linux a long time ago - but unfortunately there's the whole incompatibility issue with a lot of software. Windows emulators are great, but they only go so far. But oh well, I'll have to eventually make the leap thanks to the way Microsoft is operating.

    Hi E&E. Just watched your video and found it quite entertaining and informative. I'd love to know if there has been a response from the financial institutions you contacted to this date and what was the outcome if any? Keep up the good work, this helps innocent persons understand the dangers of online scammers.

      Simply going to Task Manager and ending the iexplore.exe process or the edge.exe process will be enough.
      Firefox users can simply just open a new tab and/or close that site tab.
      Chrome has a built-in Task Manager.
      The sites with the HTML5 history bug (CPU clocked at 100%) MUST be killed via Task Manager.

    Here in Australia, we're currently getting the scam phone calls that tells us: "In the past few months one of your family has been in a car accident" I instantly pretend I'm hysterical with grief and pleading them to tell me where they are as I haven't been able to reach them... The truth is, noone in my household owns a car nor can they drive one. I'm the only person in my house hold who is actually bed bound due to Secondary Progressive MS. But damn it's a nice break of routine to mess with their heads till they hang up! Gotta get my kicks somehow. ;-)
