I seriously don't understand how people fall for these scams. Yeah, I get some people being fooled by the better ones, but come on. Why would any legitimate business require you to jump through so many hoops and buy gift cards.
I'm 73 and I get these calls all the time.. While computer proficient, I'm certainly no hacker.. HOWEVER, I have managed to keep them busy for up to an hour on more than one occasion as they explain how much danger my account is in and how to get on my computer so they can "help me". I have folded a load of laundry and emptied the dishwasher while I was supposed to be getting a pen and paper. I'm sorry there are people that fall for this stuff. I've just always had a sense that Amazon, Microsoft and Social Security don't call you!! thanks for what you do.
He simulates it ALL. The online shopping, the Google play store, the Google play card codes, the bank account, the money in that bank account, even the entire computer. It's a fake simulated computer so the scammers can't actually lock him out of his computer. It's the most EXTREME level of trolling.

It's a scam, not a scheme. Schemes are much more thought out and usually don't target innocent elderly people. Don't get me wrong stealing is bad but scams are much worse than schemes, just saying.
Its because they work for a larger illegal scam call center and have to hit metrics/goals to stay employed. They get frustrated if the scam doesnt work because they could really lose their job. You shouldnt feel bad for them though. Theyre not doing ethical or legal work.

It's a scam, not a scheme. Schemes are much more thought out and usually don't target innocent elderly people.

Its because they work for a larger illegal scam call center and have to hit metrics/goals to stay employed. They get frustrated if the scam doesnt work because they could really lose their job.
