A lot of people do fall for this, particularly older people with failing cognitive skills. It obviously pays well enough to support a large number of call centres in the subcontinent, which seem to operate with impunity.
This is why we cant have nice things like trust in the world. Guys scamming like those. All they deserve is pity.

unfortunately these scammers are hard to trace even the fbi have problems tracking them down, everythibg they use is fake like thir software vm fake ip adress. i dont know much about computers but i know most of these scammers are not easy to track down and some are impossible to track down.

First one of these that I watched from you. Recently got into watching videos of these scam videos. Your achievement popups were perfect. I even guessed some of them correctly before they happened because they are so predictable. It is like there is one universal scamming script. xD

They didn't hang-up on you and they kept "transferring" you because you were indeed "ringing some bells" and they had never heard anything like it! There's always all kinds of active connections happening in the background.. Telemetry data to Microsoft, Apple updating iTunes, etc. Quite a few of those were the scammer's connection itself! haha

at those prices its a hell of a lot cheaper to break the computer over and just repair it lmfao. ill be like "ill return when i have more issues"
that houses has gone through about 7 owners since 2013. one person owned it for 6 weeks. wow the amount of real estates claiming to have sold that house on the same day.

Did you do some Reg edits to keep VMware from showing up in the systeminfo? I used to work for dell and i dont think ive heard of a Optiplex "3020". And DAMN those repair prices are insane. Next time you should say something like "wow thats really expensive, i think im just going to go buy a new computer" to see if they change their prices
+neverthere 108 there is an OptiPlex 3020, but it's part of the business line and just recently got replaced with the 3040. But yeah, using Regedit to hide the fact that it's a VM.
It has to do with the virtual machine's BIOS which is a nightmare to deal with.
If you use oracle virtual box, you can use my script: pastebin.com/6RS5EufL replace "Win7" with your vm name and change hdd/cd-rom "port" to your settings.
You can also modify the .VMX file to reflect your actual real computer's Bios by entering new line of command... I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't copy it directly from my own VMware file, but I think it's something along the lines of : SMBIOS.reflectHost = TRUE. You add this line at the bottom of your .VMX file and you won't see VMware as the manufacturer anymore in MSInfo32. The Manufacturer and models are bound by the Bios, hence why custom built PC do not have that line. Making modification to the Bios is very possible as well, but this is a very simple and easy fix to hide those details.

I love the part where the scammer actually did not know what and where is the firewall ... Why the hell do they do such things if they do not know the basic components of a PC such as the firewall, Center Accessibility Center network and sharing ... Things that are incorporated into any PC ... Bad it is God to be stupid, but to show off that you work for Microsoft or any other large firm in computers and you flop in meaning basic elements, this really is just icing on the cake ...

The experienced and more glib scammers also ignore questions, they are just more glib and better at misdirecting the intended victim's attention.
