Unfortunately, my grandfather fell victim to a scammer recently. We are sure what exactly happened, but we know he sent photos of his ID to these people. Luckily he mentioned it to my dad, and we stopped him from engaging further. Thanks for what you do, Kitboga!
Not sure if you've done that already, but there's software/services that can check the internet to see what of his personal information is floating around and where. Since sometimes, if the scammers can't get money from their victims directly, they sell the personal data they collected/stole. Since it was photos of his ID, that might open your grandpa up to identity theft. This stuff is also generally good to report to the police (via the non-emergency number, or by filing a claim online with their fraud department/the responsible government agency) so IF someone uses your grandfather's identity to do anything illegal, there is a record that his personal information has been compromised. I'm glad you and your dad were able to catch the scam and cut it short before things got worse! These fraudsters will often take advantage of elderly people who are not very tech savvy and don't know how incredibly advanced the techniques these scammers use have become :( it's really gross and predatory (especially considering a lot of these elderly victims live off pensions already and don't have a lot of money to their name). @@midcondition It's not anything specific to scammers, and it's not about "all Indians" but it is still true. It's an aspect of the work culture in India. People are expected to conform and follow basic orders without questioning them, sometimes even if those instructions are obviously incorrect or illegal. If an Indian person is given a suggestion (especially if the suggestion comes from someone senior to them), they will often unquestioningly agree, and follow instructions to the letter, unless those instructions contradict something they were told by a more senior employer. This can be anything from working ridiculous hours, to doing things which are obviously wrong (either factually or morally), or simply refusing to acknowledge or fix obvious problems because their boss never told them to. @@TheChase2010 In layman's words (or what I've learned from watching these videos) once the refund-scammers get access to your computer screen, they merely change what your screen says temporarily, with some minor coding/HTML editing tricks. In reality, they never actually touch your money whatsoever (because the reality of an ACTUAL financial transaction on your account by them is impossible). But sadly what they can do is an optical illusion: when YOU look at YOUR screen, it LOOKS like your account balance has been adjusted to reflect a new big total from the incorrect refund. If you were to hit refresh on the bank page, their temporary screen would be lost, and your true account would be there as it always was. All the scammer has to do is get the victim to believe the temporary, wizard-of-oz smoke screen for a moment, obey their constant "DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPUTER," and be emotionally motivated by whatever guilt/fear ("you messed up the computer....you will go behind the bars") or empathy ("ohmygod, I will lose my job") tactics the scammer employs. The scammer manipulates the victim into heading *directly* to Target/Apple/Walmart (instead of going to their bank and realizing the nonexistent issue) for the gift cards with the "owed" money that they actually never gave you in the first place at all. And thus, the scammer can con away thousands.

The people who get talked into doing these scams believe that this is their job, that YOU are taking THEIR potential money away (and theoretical money since you're wasting their time) lol. It's great that people are starting to catch on to the scams and started wasting their time (and that older people are either becoming wiser to it or are dying out and aren't falling for it like they used to).
I honestly think they justify their abhorrant behaviour thinking we are all "greedy" in the west. They have no conscious as they view us as greedy, spoiled and entitled. However, I don't see them giving their stollen money to help those in their country. All I see is them living it large, spending money on a luxury lifestyle, one that their victims could only ever dream of. Their culture is to have the utmost respect for the elderly, funny how they have absolutely no qualms trying to Rob a 77 year old western old man. Sorry no other word, complete and utter bastards!!!

Wishing you and your grandpa the best!

I've experienced this myself in working with people based in India, and I can see the evidence of it in these videos. It's not a problem with Indian people, but with Indian work culture.

This guy is disGUSTING! I cannot believe how many times he commanded an elderly man to just shut up. Don’t get me wrong, all scammers are disgusting to me. But this guy made me ridiculously angry. I had to keep pausing the video because I felt so uncomfortable I was losing my composure.
Love your RUclips name 👍🏼
And because of this I really salute Kit's patience with them. I would have hang up at hello
it shows just how low these scammers will go to get money off people I wish we could blow there call centres up and shot them as well : I am a nice person but hearing what these scammers do makes me think what I like to do them as they make a lot of money over this jim borowning is doing a great job as well showning you inside the call centres and trying to shut them but police get paid off so they look the another way that's why we get all scams : any way keep calm and stay safe everyone: one day we will sort them out once and for:
disgusting how low microsoft's hiring standards have gotten
That burns me most of all too. It’s even worse when Kit is playing Edna and they yell at ‘her.’
"Every person, every single day, has a choice: To make the world a little bit like heaven, or a little bit more like hell. And it starts with speaking truthfully."
Adison Conway you a lot like Sofie Dossi
Amen to that
She was quoting the video guys
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
My heaven is the scammers hell
“You guys are not letting me speak”. That scammer will probably have a stroke at days end.
We can only hope...
hopefully he'll quit
The work that goes into scamming the scammers is amazing. Keep fighting the good fight.
“Is he your son?”
“Yes!”
“Oh God no.”
Mayhem ensues...
my mum fell for one of these scammers once. She was recovering at home from heart surgery and genuinely thought she was talking to someone from Microsoft. The process went on for quite some time but before she got to the stage of actually giving them money she texted me at work. I was able to call her and get her off the phone call with them. It really shook her and took away whatever low amount of confidence she had with her technology. While i find these videos funny they just infuriate me. I've seen the after effects they can have on the vulnerable and it doesn't go away.
This guys grandmother fell for one of these. She had alzheimers and they took advantage of her. That's why he does these videos. They're funny, but they're also about awareness and warning people what these guys are about and how they try the scam.
How does this work? They actually give you money and you send it back? And then what? They cancel the transaction?
TheChase2010 they’re not giving bro are you dumb?
@@IRam-iq7bp Thanks.
Dude, I noticed a little bit of sadness creep in right at the end when you reflected on that session. I know what you do must sometimes shit you up inside, but you're special, important, and you do what most of us aren't brave enough to do. Strength, brother, and thank you.
Well said man.
Dean, you nailed it. It's not easy, but the payoff is incredible!🌙⭐
it might be disappointment in humanity.

I help customers over the phone for a living. You do a great job pretending to be an old person. The tangents you go on are spot on (obviously a little exaggerated, but pretty close).
I'm 83, and I can attest to the fact that you're absolutely right.
This gentleman needs his own Special television show...this is better than scripted...
I love this...

Fuck scripted reality tv, the only thing good on there is cartoons, Futurama #1

After "steven" hung up I honestly thought for a second that the call between the old man and the woman would continue. Then I remembered they were the same person and realized that I was being silly.
Next minute...
I even expected so. Which he did😁
Scammers deserve this type of torture honestly lmao
Just Some Guy without a Mustache I literally find you in every comment section
I think they deserve worse. They should have their legs cut off, and then if they don't get the message and continue scamming people, we cut off their hands.

My grandmother has almost fallen for these scams multiple times. Thankfully she called my mom. I'm so happy someone gives them a run for their money...
scammer logic: you have to send us this 15000 dollars bc we cant access it, but if you dont do it i'll empty your whole bank account right now
LMAO. That is pretty stupid. So logical.
They make great programmers too...
It's is logical. That logic only works in India though.
I'm from India, originally and I love your videos @Kitboga. These jerks deserve much worse than just losing their time. Preying upon old helpless people and invoking God too in the process is plain evil.
I find these funnier because I can understand what they're saying in Hindi too. Sometimes, its plain hilarious.
At 2:53 for example, he said something to the effect of, "he's trying to be a Casanova". He thinks you are asking about Kathy Jackson because you're trying to get into her pants :))
If you ever need help with translations or subtitles when they lose their shit and start jabbering in Hindi, please do let me know. I'll be more than happy to help :D
