How to get the descale light to turn off on your Keurig.

Pour a cup of vinegar and fill with water. Turn all the way off, no lights. Press 10 and 6 till flash. Hit 8 and it should start process of draining. Keep adding water till it shuts off, no lights.

If you have a newer iced coffee model you need the power off and hold 10 & 6 for 3 seconds until descale light blinks and keep pressing 8 until descale light comes off. Of course adding a half of a cup of white vinegar to the water. Works everytime 👍

Tried several times, including after unplugging first. While pressing the 10/6 prompts the 8/descale to flash, pressing 8 does nothing but try to run an 8oz serving, then all lights flash briefly before the machine turns off. Turn it back on, and the descale is on again. We’ve descaled this just recently. Either I’m missing a step or the machine has deeper and more entrenched issues.

You have to press the power button off (smaller gray button) first to make sure the machine is off (no lights are blinking on/off) before you hold the 6 and 10 buttons to start descale mode, other wise it won't start descale mode. Mine took about six 8 oz cup cycles before the descale light turned off. I use only fresh water, no solution or vinegar this time. About once a year I run about 8-10 ounces of vinegar through with the first full tank of water.

Thank you. 1st descale needed, I have followed the instructions, unplugged etc ran 12 - 8 oz runs and it just keeps blinking and will not make coffee anymore, stuck in descale mode EDITED... I called customer service and its under the 1 yr warranty they are replacing it with a new one for free. Apparently this is common.

Okay, it took me several tries, but I finally got it. Do not turn the machine on. Just hold the number 8 and number 10 button simultaneously like in the video, and then that's where things come to life. I put white vinegar in the reservoir to help clean it out. I know they sell a descale kit, but I'm currently snowed in at this time. I noticed the machine running slower than normal, so I need to do something to keep myself occupied, so I thought, why not descale my coffee maker. Hopefully that pesky descale light will turn off now. LOL.

I descaled my keurig. To turn off the descale light, I unplugged the maker for a few seconds. Plugged it back in. Pushed the power button. "VIOLA!!" Back to normal operation.

Try unplugging it and plugging it back in again while it’s off then do this video…but make sure the keurig is completely off when you hold down the 10 & 6 button. I use two cups of white vinegar and two cups of water to descale. Then refill with clean water and keep running to get all the vinegar out.

It runs once then it stops then u empty your cup in the sink, then you place the cup again and then press the 8pz again and you repeat the process till the Descale light turns off. I just did this, hope it works

Exactly, the descaling is due when the light comes on, however using the descale cleanser doesn’t turn the light off no matter how many times you do it. Trust me I tried it several. I only shared this because after doing so several times I set out to figure out how to make the light go off and wanted to share it with those who have also already cleaned it or for those who bought a new one with the light coming on prematurely.

This is the WORST Keurig I have EVER had!!! 1st one burned up after trying to clean it w Keurig cleaning solution and now my second one same mode and color and same as in video is acting up. I’m not much of a coffee drinker so it may get used 1/2 times every other month but making sure I use the water in reservoir or changing it out. Keurig customer service the worst to work with!!!
