My take on one detail: If you leave the heat on under the pot (With the vinegar still in the pot) that ensures everything stays on for those 30 minutes AND the heated vinegar sitting in your pot gives it a very deep cleaning. (This is what we did in the restaurant once a week with the coffee pots to keep them fresh...just be SURE to wash the pot well afterward!)

After having a single Kcup maker for years we craved a pot being made on the weekends. Researched a bunch of models and choose this one. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxL8yFdHfPF4ObeIwJ5JdM3i_9XLnbjUC2 We love it! We wanted a water reservoir for the single cup so we didn’t have to pour water in every cup but the other models it fed the water to the coffee pot to so by the time we made one pot we’d have no water left. This model has the traditional pour in feature for the pot and the reservoir for the cup which works great for us. Love how there is a bunch of holes pouring the water over the coffee, makes it taste much better. Only drawback I have is the way the lid is angled on the pot section it’s hard to get the last bit of water out of the pot into the machine without it spilling somewhere else.

I’ve been binge watching your videos for the past week. I ordered and received my K Duo yesterday. Although I’m not ready for descale just yet, I appreciate your thorough tutorial. I will look into purchasing the water filter. I used to have one in my Keurig with the side reservoir. Oh, that brings up another point. The blue light indicator in the side reservoir was appreciated and the machine stayed on the have hot water ready. I am surprised that this unit powers off after five minutes. It won’t be able to keep hot water ready, but will have to wait for a heating process. That feature seems odd to me.

hi, I followed your video for 2:07 descaling my keurig duo,but at the beginning, when I turned the power button on, it did not say descaling. I can not find out how to put it in the descaling mode. I have had it for about a year and it has started to brew only half the pot when the 12 cup has been selected. can you help?
It shows descale to tell you to descale your Keurig coffee maker. Don't think you will see descaling. Once you descale you can reset the descale error. Try my other video it may help with why you only get half a pot of coffee. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/c0gm9Gnxmwg/видео.htmlsi=pDMX1eSWdlBTsqLN
Unplug it to reset it, Check that in the bottom of the reservoir that there is not a air bubble preventing water to go to the machine. Use a Turkey baster to push water through the bottom of the reservoir you will see where the water enters the bottom. If you have a water filter remove it then try the Turkey baster.

I'm not sure my descaling is even working properly. As soon as I start the brew cycle with vinegar in the reservoir, the machine starts to dispense water and then immediately makes the end of the cycle sound like it is complete.

Mine too! Every. Single. Time. It's got one job, made to hold and pour coffee. Impossible to pour without making a huge mess. Now I pour over the sink. Ridiculous. Should be recalled. Obviously Keurig doesn't test their own products.
Did you have to keep restarting the carafe side when running the solution? I have to restart mine multiple times because the vinegar does not want to run
Depends on the model. I would try and unplug it from the outlet and plug it back in. There are videos out there on specific models that show how to fix the Keurig when it descales and wont turn on again.

I’ve already been an hour into cleaning mine and only got 4 ounces in the cup. It just keeps making grinding noise. I also reuse the vinegar making sure not to get the crud from the bottom of the cup. I’ve only been using this machine about 3 months.
I don't think its a cleaning problem. Think the grinding sound is another issue and if its still under warranty I would contact Keurig for replacement.
I had to get a stronger declining acid.. Did the 12 ounces and 12 cups.. Only got about a ounce out of it.. Did the turn on every five for the half hour.. Then let it sit all night. The next morning I got 12 ounces and 12 cups of the acid out.. Rinsed it 5 times on both sides 12 ounces and 12 cups.. The descale sign went out on its own..
Thanks so much for this video. Keurig's own how-to video is terrible. Yours is great. But what a ridiculous ordeal to descale. Really annoying, time consuming descale.
Trying to descale mine but it won’t even brew at all. Have cleaned the needles, tried the Turkey blaster trick. It only brews about a teaspoon and then stops and makes noise and then turns itself off. On the cup side, same thing but will stay on longer.
Mine didn't come with a filter. I bought it separate. It's an option. Most retailers sell it without the filter Only place that might sell it with a filter is Costci.
That descale light will not go off for me?; I've held those numbers down, umpteen times for umpteen seconds, still it shows the light. Mine doesn't look like any you're showing, but on the bottom it says K920 - is that the model #? How do I get rid of that flickering descale light???
Just to let ya know..I have the newer model of this and no longer need to press any "secret" buttons. Once the Descale light comes on, just use the solution (or vinegar/water mix) and simply select the Carafe first and brew out the solution. Followed by the single cup . Light gets reset automatically without having to power anything off/on. Looks like Keurig has simplified the process on the newer models.

Thank you! I’m about to get Er done
Your welcome.
How do you get to the water hose to unclog the filter on the hose?
Someone mentioned using a turkey baster to push water thru the filter.
@@JimMcLaren1950 that you for the help. But its running do not know how but it is. Thank you very much God Bless

Well what happens if it's not brewing on the pot side
Did you ever come across a problem where you do k cup 12 ounces and the machine dispenses more water than it's supposed to, this is what's happening with my K Duo right now, any help would be greatly appreciated
Yes similar problem with k cup side more ounces than called for.
I descaled the unit and the problem went away.
Thanks Jim, I will try that
the carafe doesn't brew through, how do you get that to work!
Check your reservoir in the bottom where the water flows into the Keurig. You can use a turkey baster and push water through the bottom, The spring maybe stuck or air lock.
@@JimMcLaren1950 but only when im trying to descale it, it took 6 hours to finally get it to work. Every time I descale it
@@robinlilly6174 Next time you descale try the Keurig solution or dilute vinegar 50 % Vinegar 50 water 50 mixture.
Here is my video descale with the Keurig solution. ruclips.net/video/Te6zcNKNoEY/видео.html
@@JimMcLaren1950 I did that already 😢 i tried the solution first time so next time I did the vinegar thing hoping that work , and then tried diluting thinking to strong, this time trie md full strength vinegar no luck. I was hoping there was something I was missing. Thanks for the response.
My worked until i put vinegar in and now its making a sound but no water coming
@Anita Prudnikow same here
Thank you
Your welcome Cheryl.
Thank u so much
Your welcome Josie.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks so much for this video. Keurig's own how-to video is terrible. Yours is great. But what a ridiculous ordeal to descale. Really annoying, time consuming descale.
You'r welcome. It is time consuming to descale.
Trying to descale mine but it won’t even brew at all. Have cleaned the needles, tried the Turkey blaster trick. It only brews about a teaspoon and then stops and makes noise and then turns itself off. On the cup side, same thing but will stay on longer.
we never use the pot side. do I still have to descale it? seems unnecessary
You are still using the water reservoir, even if you only use pod side,. The single brew Keurig with the pod had to be descaled.
@@JimMcLaren1950 ok fine. ha
@@djzhanes4148 Its up to you, if you want to descale. You can just reset the descale like I showed in the video.
I have the same keurig but mine didnt come with a filter. Wonder why
Mine didn't come with a filter.
I bought it separate. It's an option.
Most retailers sell it without the filter
Only place that might sell it with a filter is Costci.
That descale light will not go off for me?; I've held those numbers down, umpteen times for umpteen seconds, still it shows the light. Mine doesn't look like any you're showing, but on the bottom it says K920 - is that the model #? How do I get rid of that flickering descale light???
You have a completely different model number. Mine is the Keurig Duo I don't think the descale reset will work on your model number.
@@JimMcLaren1950 Thanks for replying.
Thank you!!!!

Thanks for posting. I am happy Keurig fixed the problem.
Yup. I still have to manually reset the light
Problem NOT fixed, the stupid descale light will NOT go off. 🤷🏼♀️
You could dump the used vinegar on weeds outside. It will kill most weeds. Thanks for posting this video.
Good idea about dumping the used vinegar on weeds
Great video but the pod side of my kuerig isn’t draining
Look at my other video may help you. ruclips.net/video/c0gm9Gnxmwg/видео.html
My pot has a tendency to stop after just a few ozs of vinegar on the pot side. I have to keep turning it off and restarting.
