    My duo was leaking plain water every brew, and using your disassmbly instructions, I figured out that the tube was disconnected from the vent fitting. Each time the water tank was filled, the weight of the water in the vent tube would make it tip over and leak clean water into the base of the unit. Thank you!!

    Can't even tell you how close I was to just tossing my keurig out into traffic. The water would not pump after descaling and I could not for the life of me figure out why. Found this video, did the steps and whammo! It works! Thanks Dad!

    One morning recently, my Keurig Duo Essentials worked fine and I made 3 cups of coffee using the pod side. The tank was pretty low, so I filled it, although the fill light was not on. That evening, when I got home, the fill light came on when I turned the device on, in spite of the tank being full. We searched for solutions and came across your video. Following your examples, we were able to get the pot apart and found the problem was the vent tube ( plugged with coffee grounds --weird).The easy part was finding and fixing the problem with the vent tube. Not so easy was putting the pot back together. We judiciously removed a few of the more annoying tabs and got it back together fairly well. It makes me wonder how in the world they put these things together to begin with. Anyway, it is all good for now, but it wouldn't have been possible without your video. Thanks for sharing!

    This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.

      I have this exact model the duo Keurig and today it's pumping the water out after I place my k-pod into it it pierces it both on the top and bottom of the K-Cup but no water is going inside of the pod so it's not brewing I don't know how it's going into the cup plain water and not into the pod? And when I remove the K-Cup out of the Keurig it has a hole on the bottom and the top from where the needle pierced it

    I am taking mine apart today. I seen this nasty gunk deep inside of it. Been having sewer flies living in it. YUCk.. Anyway , while taking mine apart, the top section, before trying to take that part off , I think around 3:36 of your video.. I noticed there is a red wire that goes from the power button selections down to and part of a wire harness that is connected to a circuit board. I would reccomend to carefully pull this ( looks like about 12 wires.. 11 black 1 red ) and disconnect it from the circuit board. I will easily pull out, just be careful not to yank by the wires. Doing this will take all that tension from the red wire that goes up to the buttons. Dont wanna pull the top off and rip that wire apart.

    3:27 : I just ordered this part on eBay and it said it’s the water pump. Is the other one you point at the air pump then? I replaced this and put it back together. Almost perfect- wondering if I need to replace the other pump as well. I get about 10.5 ounces when I choose 12 ounces and 4 cups when I choose 12. Thoughts?

    My K-duo just like this clogged. I've been trying to descale it with vinegar. I was able to get a couple ounces out through both sides but that's all. It seems like it trys to pump but only a little comes through. If I knock on the side a little more will come through. Is there something I can do? Where do you think the clog is?

    The thermostat on the heating plate is a "KLIXON", it's a bimetallic disk that "snaps"on when cool, and off at a preset temperature. It turns on and off to keep the carafe at a relatively constant temperature.

    Thank you for this video. Although my issue was a little different, I was able to fix my Keurig. As you described, my Keurig was not completely filling cups from the K-Cup side. The K-Cups would fill properly if I held down the handle while brewing. What I found was the paddle that rests between the top of the K-Cup and the top needle had broken further back in the mechanism. This also caused the 'locking' feel you would get when closing the handle, to also be broken resulting in the handle coming up during the brewing process and tripping the sensor that the handle was open, stopping the brewing. I've super glued the broken component. Here's to hoping it holds.

  • @SeamusMaccDuff

    Very insightful video. My problem was that water on the cup side would not run through the cup itself, but around it. Other videos said likely a hose had come off. Wished I had watched this through as the fix did not require full disassembly.
    At 7:47 the cover for the cup side is off. No indication how though. Can you show this? Cover off revealed that indeed a hose was off. Simple enough to connect. Of course, I’d done the disassembly. Some comments there:
    A lot of the disassembly involves disengaging tabs. The first is at 1:40. Put a small flat screwdriver in the outermost slot to pop these loose. A note: screw #4 only holds on the warming plate cover.
    2:00 The larger back panel overlaps the smaller one. This is probably why the tab broke. When reassembling, align both panels together to avoid this.
    3:35 Jab a large pin at an angle into these caps to pop them out.
    3:46 Whoa there. Steps that take a lot of work and may break pins are what we want to see. 😊 Removing this panel is a real pain. Lifting one side will drop the other’s tabs back into place. And you have to lift from the back, which forces the front tabs in. There’s along toothed tab in the middle. Between right-left and front-back, I broke this off in removing the panel. Plus the wiring is still attached when you take this off.
    If you could show how the cup side cover came off, that would be a big help if this happens again. Raising and lowering the cup cover can gradually work that hose loose.
    Thanks!

    • @SeamusMaccDuff
      @SeamusMaccDuff Год назад

      Solved the cap removal, as my hose had again become detached and I didn't feel like taking the whole unit apart again.
      To remove it, raise the cover. Place a thumb on each side of the cover edge underneath. Press upward until the forward tabs detach. The back tabs lift off to the rear. Voila!
      Reattach the hose using a needle nose pliers. I put a small zip tie around it to help keep it from coming loose again.

I laid the machine down and took out the coffee basket and what i noticed in the right far back looked like a very small senior so i took my straw bush to clean out my straws for my hydrojug and cleaned it it had alot of coffee build up on it ,sat the machine back up put the coffee basket back in and pushed the botton for the coffee and picked how many cups i wanted and it worked it made 12 cups of coffee. I have been looking the past couple of days for someone with the same issue as us and can't find anyone with it. I found our Keurig duo essentials in wally world compactor I was dumping about a year ago. (It was a return to the store and in the box with a return ticket saying not working.) So, I brought it home, cleaned it real good, and tried it out. Worked perfectly. Now, almost a year later, all the single serve numbers overfill. 8 oz. brews 10 oz. 10 oz. brews 12 oz. Do you suppose it could be a pump issue with ours as well, or possibly electrical? (As in a circuit board.)

    I believe this is a descaling issue. Everytime I try to descale the machine I have to run it 20 plus times to get it going again. I've had this keurig almost three years and i make alot of coffie. Other than this i love it.

    • @BigPMachinery

      This is the issue I have. I have learned not to use vinegar at all. I work in the HVAC field and typically have ice machine cleaner on the truck which is a mixture of citric acid/phosphoric acid. This mixture does not work either. It does not run a full cycle like stated in your post. HOWEVER, pure citric acid powder works great! I mix about 3 table spoons in hot water and dump it in the back of a full tank of water and run a full 12 through carafe and pod and they fill up just fine. I usually buy my citric acid power and my local health foods store but those results may vary.

    • @glenthompson291
      @glenthompson291 2 года назад

      It’s probably not the water pump, take off the hose before the proportioning valve and see if the thing spits out hot water when on. If it does you know it’s something in that valve or later if not you know it’s before that. It cuts the options of issues in half. Do the same thing at the tank. If it pushes water out before the tank you know the tank is clogged. If not then you know the pump isn’t running. If the pump isn’t running then it has to be on the electric board. I would trace the wires from the pump and see if you can find any issues and possibly disconnect and reconnect the pump from the board in case it’s a bad connection or there’s corrosion. Whole process should take 10 minutes after you disassembled it to get to everything. Hope this helps!

    We would lift the k cup side and see water is pouring in there from the side, seemingly not from the tube.
    We just took it apart today. Found no leaking tubes, and decided to run it. Then suddenly the water went pot side. We have no idea what happened

    I've had my Keurig going on over two years now and still no 'de-scale' light by using only distilled water. However, I am running into problems with the K-pod handle and lid not properly functioning (as @jasonmcbride8729 posted bellow) At a later date, I'll follow his technique. In the mean time, and when I get another Keurig and since the handle/lid assembly design is flimsy, I have been pressing down on the on the pods until punctured by bottom needle using two thumbs, instead of relying on the poorly designed assembly that can not withstand the downward pressure to puncture the plastic portion of pod. The top foil puncture is no problem. Thanks for the video!
