So angry that i try to do the maintenance as described on their descaling kit and NO warning on overheating - there should be a huge thing in red at the top - I just got this 3 months ago!! Thank you for posting!!! After a couple tries at poking the middle item (I didn't have any electric monitors hooked up to it like you) and plugging it in, it fixed it!
Thanks for the tutorial. People shouldn't have to do all of this for the price of this machine. Keurig needs to go back to the drawing board and stop selling it if it's faulty.
Totally agree! These Keurig machines have always had design problems from the very start. I have owned 4 different types ( all with problems). The design before this last one, seemed to have lasted the longest. I should have kept it and not upgraded to the Supreme. The new descale “mode” is faulty.
Guess what? I have this same exact coffeemaker, and followed your directions, and BOOM - FIXED! Couldn't have done it without your video. Thanks so much.
BTW - If the manufacturer [Keurig] was concerned about it purchasers, they would put a reset but on the outside of the machine to easily be used by anyone.
Our 5 months old K-SLIM coffe maker didnt power on after we use the clining kit we got from Amazon. My doughter doubt it i could fixed, then i cross with your video and boom, done, i did fixed in 15min. Hard to take it a part (not dificult, just easy to not brake tabs) reset and now work as a champ again. Thank you again for you step by step video save me $$ puls helped my Ego🤣🤣
If anyone wants to start a class action law suit against Keurig for the emotional distress this coffee machine has caused humannity I will gladly join.
@@CharismaFarrowyup exactly same for me...de scale light never ever went off even after de scaling lol smh....and now ...im looking up this damn vid bc it won't power on....I don't wanna do all this work 😑
Thanks man! Prior to watch this video I called Keurig and they told me my brewer was not in warranty and they tried to make me buy a new one! I fixed mine thanks to this video! God Bless you!
Same exact message. Am I Brewer literally had brood less than probably 25 cups of coffee total. I was pissed when they told me they were going to offer me 10% off a new Keurig. I was like if this one failed and all you'll do for a warranty is 10% off a new one, why should I buy a new one.
I was literally a day from throwing this thing away after fighting with Keurig on the phone for 2 days to warranty a brewer that I literally had less than 25 brews on. This unit was bought for my camper, and we just didn't camp much that season and by the time I brought it to the house to start using it at the house it started to fail immediately. I'm thrilled that you've provided insight to restore the use of the coffee maker, but I'm still pissed that keurig's position on this particular unit, which is clearly having failure problems at a large rate, almost like planned obsolescence so that we'll have to go buy new Brewers, tells me that they're less than a reputable company and I do need to find a long-term replacement to Keurig. From a customer service and customer experience standpoint they suck.
Thank you, you just saved my morning! Once I reset it, it worked like brand new. You just saved me $100 plus! Thank you for posting video to help others out.
For anyone else doing this, a few tips not mentioned. 1) Tabs are under the removable tray, if you pry those 2 up, you can lift up the whole thing pretty easily, the rest will snap off. 2) Pull the sides of the plastic cover wider, it slides right over the top 3) When putting it back together, just snap the back and top pieces off so you can just snap on the Sides, then slide the top part back in, then snap the back portion back on. A lot easier to reassemble that way. The cover is actually 3 pieces.
One more: you don't have to completely remove the whole case. I was able to reset the thermostat by lifting up the case about 3/4 of the way and this made it easier to slide back down.
Thank you! You just saved us 115$ 😊 -Instead of the flat screwdriver, I use a small trowel or paint tool to avoid doing dents in the plastic. -Also, since I was struggling to put back the housing in place, I dismantled it, and it was easy to put all pieces one by one. Again, thank you, because it’s much easier to do once you see a video. 💎💎💎💎💎
Thanks you for these instructions. I repaired by K-Supreme following your directions and was able to correct my problem, and I could not have done it, nor attempted it without your video.
Thank you!!!! so much thanks!!! I had my Keurig thermostat trip when doing a descale and this saved me! PLEASE READ TIP!!!!!! Watch the wiring when you put the case back on as the first time I did this I accidently unplugged the water level sensor and a cable moved that I almost screwed into. What I suggest is to take the case apart ( it comes apart into the front/sides panel. the back panel, and the upper panel). Wrap the front/side panel into place, slide in the upper panel, then snap on the back panel. you wont have to worry about sliding everything down in one piece
Best video I have watched in years. My wife hates me, I just made her a cup of coffee after fixing the keurig following your tutorial and she said thank you. God bless you brother
Dad’s make the most amazing repairs daily and rarely get enough credit for it. Thanks for helping make my Keurig work again. They have sent me two new machines now because of this problem. Now I have the secret weapon to fix them myself. You are a Rock Star!
You sir are a God blessing. I was already shopping for a new one when I decided to look a little deeper into what would be wrong. Your video was right on the spot. Mine is the stainless steel model so the cover comes out a little differently but once I figure it out it was all good. Pushed the button and voila, back to brewing. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It is very sad how manufacturers seem to be making things for us just to spend more $ on them. What a waste would have been if I had tossed it and bought a new one. THANK YOU!
This saved me from pitching the 4th one in a year...I was visiting my daughter when this failed and my wife thought she was to blame. I went to replace it but unfortunately there were none available... I found this video and decided to try it and here I am writing a review!! It seems Kerrigan has already replaced this twice under warranty and did not require a return...that means the land fill has 2 perfectly repairable units because Kerrigan is too lazy to recall or document the fix... I am going to drill an access hole and cover with a grommet as the cover removal is a PITA!!
@@patmahone7095 Great idea. Hope it worked for you. Keurig has to know of the frequent need to reset the thermostat. They could design them to enable us to reset without removing the cover. I think they decided they would rather make money from us buying a replacement.
After getting the shell off changes my view of how it heats up the water, pretty cool actually I had a idea how the water gets heated up as it come out. Awesome video!! 👍🏻💕
Well, it worked, and I was jumping up and down in my kitchen like a hysterical Price is Right contestant! I can't thank you enough!! Descaling is a tricky process, but I'll never ever again allow the machine to be completely without water when running it in descale mode. I learned my lesson. It's in big red letters on my instructions. It was actually kind of fun taking the machine apart. I thought it's either going to work or not going to work, but I'm so glad it worked!! Many thanks!!
Thanks! I really appreciate being able to repair things, which I'm fully comfortable doing... but seeing how to take apart certain cases, etc., is SO helpful.
Thank you! I was able to rescue my dead Keurig from the trash can with your trip. The Supreme Plus has a case that comes off in a very different way, but I was able to get it off, reset the switch, and it's working again!
I have never made a comment on RUclips before but I cannot thank you enough for your detailed instructions. It went exactly as described. This is the second time I descaled a Keurig supreme and it shut off both times. For the amount of money I spend on K pods, Keurig should be sending me a new one once a month. Many thanks
You're welcome! Thanks for the nice words. Next time when you do you descale maybe let it cool down when you run the descale solution through it before you start the fresh water rinses let it sit for about 20 min. then finish the it. it should stay in descale mode during this time.
@Joe Leary same thing happened to me! My machine shut off at end of descale during rinse cycle. I wonder why Keurig recommends such a taxing descale method of its been proven to cause the thermostat to overheat & trip itself to prevent fire or further damage. *Good news in my situation is that Keurig is sending me a brand new K Supreme free of charge due to mine being under 1 year warranty... And the Kicker is they told me I could keep mine, she said to either throw it away or recycle it. Lol, yeah right now that I know what's wrong with it I'll be fixing that puppy tomorrow so I can still drink coffee until my new machine gets here next week!
Thank you!!! I fixed my Keurig (3 months old) because of this video, then set to high altitude (mountains in Mexico), and then descaled!!!! Fantastic videos.
Thank you.... I too descaled and thought I destroyed my Keurig, BUT your video came to the rescue! I'm enjoying a coffee as I type this! Greatly appreciated!
Thank you Just a Dad! You are wonderful, I just fixed my keurig thanks to your instructions I can take my keurig back to Mexico and enjoy my coffee when I vacation there, I had lost hope as no one knew how to repair it and the store wasn't going to exchange it because their 30 day return policy, God bless! Please don't stop making this kind of ideas and helping people this way.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You saved my Keurig and saved me a bunch of money! You also gave me coffee now! Keurig should put a reset button on the outside! 😊
Many thanks for this video. Keurig customer service recommended replacing my unit, which was out of warranty. My machine is a misty green one that my daughter bought me at Target and it is a discontinued color. She was thrilled to find that color to go with my kitchen and I did not want to tell her I broke it. I ran it with the water chamber not fully seated and it overheated and shut off. Your very detailed step by step instructions saved the day. After a bit of a struggle to get all the latches released and the cover off, my husband used our special paperclip to reset the thermostat and NOW IT WORKS! hallelujah!
Oh my goodness I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have come across your video!! I left my Keurig abandoned for about a year bc I thought it was dead but after watching this video & fixing it like you said, it is up & running again just like new! Thank you so so much 🙏🏻
I just finished following these instructions in order to repair our K-Supreme. As well detailed as this tutorial was I found the overtemperature thermostat and reset it with a paperclip. The issue for me is that numerous people have complained about this very same problem with these Keurig machines so it is obviously a design flaw on the part of Keurig. I am not so naive to think that Keurig would actually admit anything wrong on their part and address this situation as they rightly should. Since this issue is likely to turn up again and the thermostat is placed so that it somewhat difficult to get to I wish there was some way to remotely reset the thermostat from outside the case so I do not have to perform open Keurig surgery each time this happens. The only possible solution would be to remove some of the internal plastic framework as well as drill a noticeable hole (=> 1/4") to allow a paperclip pointed rod to reach the thermostat. Probably not worth the labor. Thanks to Just A Dad Videos for this YT instructional. It saved the day. 👍👍
Jeremy Stoneberger the same thing happened to me! Free one under one year warranty on its way next week. They've already sent me the tracking info. Smh though that's ridiculous they tell you to descale it knowing it has such a design flaw!
In case anyone was wondering, I did receive my free K Supreme brewer from Keurig under warranty about a week and a half ago. They did not even want me to send them my old one. Also another plus is the new machine they sent me has a free one year warranty with it. Didn't cost me a dime! I thought I got a good deal for the price I paid for my 1st K Supreme, now I feel I got an unbelievable deal since I got two brewers for that price!
I can’t believe it actually worked. Following your instructions, which were spot on, I did the paper clip reset and BINGO, I’m back in the brewing business. Thanks so much for taking the time to put up this video. It has obviously helped many people fix their broken Keurigs.
Thank you so much for this! I called Keurig and they said since my coffee maker was no longer under warranty, there was nothing they could do except offer me a new one at a discounted price. I asked why since it's their instructions for descaling that cause the problem to begin with! No satisfaction at all. Since we had nothing to lose by opening up the maker and giving it a try, we did; it was a little hard to get open, a little struggle to get back together, but VOILA! It worked! Thanks again!
THANK YOU!!!! We bought a used Keurig at a thrift store, plugged it in at the store and it powered up. Came home, plugged t in and immediately shut off. It would power on for a few seconds while flashing "descale" then shut down...THEN it would NOT power up at all. I then , found your video, did as you instructed AND used white vinegar and distilled water to descale it and now it works like new. Thanks again...Yambo
thank you for saving our keurig! the thermostat got tripped by descaling but the reset fixed it like a charm and the best part is the descaling light is STILL on after all that
Man i had this same issue on my first K-Supreme plus, but thankfully the machine was under warranty and keurig sent me an new one. But i'm saving this video for sure just in case if my current one ever dies like that again. Once again keep up the great content.
After a descale my machine sputtered and died. I was so disgusted that after a 1.5 years I'd have to buy another when the current retail price of my machine is $180!! You just saved me from dishing out more money!! Normally I leave my descaling liquid to sit 10 min in the machine before finishing out the cycle but this last time I "brewed" out the cleaner one mug after another and I think that's what made it overheat. I've learned my lesson to take it slow!! I will say that I learned the back part of the cover can separate from the sides, as well as the top back part can slide out as well which then makes the cover like a shell and can be removed by pulling off towards the front instead of sliding it up over the handle. Thanks so much for this video!!!
Nice instructions. Suggestions to make this a little easier: 1. don’t remove the 3 screws on the bottom then the base won’t separate from the inner workings 2. Remove the back first 3. Remove the top by sliding it back 4. Remove the side last 5. Reverse to reinstall Thanks for a great tutorial!
I ended up disconnecting the sides when I reinstalled the cover. Made it a bit easier. How would you get the sides to unclip from the back to disassemble? I think prying it might break those clips. My wife ran it without the water and that's what popped the thermostat. If she keeps doing that, I might have to drill a small hole so I can reach that reset without taking off the side :)
I followed your instructions and the sides have to be unscrewed. I broke the plastic going up the side after really struggling to remove the plastic, had I unscrewed it they would've popped right off.
I'm so glad I found this post! I opened up the Keurig, used the paperclip to reset the thermostat sensor and, voila, it started up. 1 hour to fix > $200 to buy a new one - Thank you!!
Thank you!!! Support line was useless - “We can send you a new one in 7-10 business days?” An hour later I’m back up and brewing! And crazy proud of myself for being able to fix it myself
Excellent tutorial. We replaced our high-end Keurig 15 months ago with this lower-end unit since my wife needed/wanted that handle for easy filling. Anyway, I did a descale yesterday, which I have done several times before, and it would not power on afterwards. I did try to take it apart but no luck. I called Keurig and they were of no help. They only offered a 20% discount on a new brewer because the warranty expired 3 months ago. I planned on throwing this one in the trash and setup my old high-end model. This morning, I came across this video and decided to try to disassemble it one more time. While the case was difficult to remove, I got it off without any damage. It did take a number of presses with the paper clip but it eventually reset. Re-assembled it and all is now good. Many thanks for this video, without which this brewer would be in the trash. Great job! 👍
Thank you SO MUCH for this video!! Mine had just run out of the warranty period and of course Keurig would do nothing but offer 20% off for another one of their junk coffee makers to which I told them no thank you. You have saved the day and given me coffee while I research other brands that will hopefully be better than this! Thanks again!!
Just a dad, you’re amazing. I am a 60+ woman and I was able to follow your video take apart my Keurig reset it and it’s working again (although I’m not sure for how long 😂😂)thank you so much for how easily you explain and go through these repairs. I really appreciate you.
Thank you ! My daughter used to call this machine her little coffe shop and make coffee for my wife, and one day it just stopped working, and she was pretty sad until I followed this tutorial and fixed it. Now her little coffee shop can finally reopen, thank you ^^
Thank you for the detailed instructions. I was able to follow along exactly as you described and now I have a working coffee maker again! This is precisely the information I needed - Thank you!
Thank you for this! It was almost a bad start to 2022, but your instructions saved the day and the start of the new year in this heavy coffee / hot chocolate drinking household. The hardest part was removing the cover and putting it back (you just have to have the stomach and patience for it LOL). Thank you again, Sir. Happy New Year!
Thanks for the heads up, the challenge that I faced was putting it back together having all the plastic clips fall into place, but other than that this was spot on and you’re going places. Thanks for your help, and your kindness
Major challenge for me also. After several tries getting it on as one piece, I unclipped the top and back as one piece and attached that after getting the front portion in place and clipped in. Top and back clipped on last with no issues at all. Worked perfectly. That’s the only way I’ll reassemble it going forward.
THANKS! Back in business thanks to your video. I'm just a dad at 51 fixing more & more on my own from clothes washers/ dryers/ cars to Keurig Coffee machines. I appreciate your work.
Thanks for a great video. I have never seen so many complaints over a product. After a "descale," my Keurig went dead like so many others I had read about in the reviews. I took my ?SUPREME? (now there is a misnomer) apart before watching the video thinking there must be a simple breaker on the board. I found what I assumed was the thermal breaker and found there was no continuity between the two wires. I did not realize that it could be reset so easily. I'm considering cutting a hole in the side of the unit because I am sure this will happen again. Thanks again
Awesome instructions. Luckily it reset for us. Thank you immensely, you started 2022 happily for us keurig/coffee lovers. You have a Happy New Year, too!
I can't ever thank you enough for this video... my dad recently passed and would've been the one that would've helped my mom and I right now when the descaling process tripped the thermostat - but YOUR video helped me to clearly understand what to do AND IT WORKED!!! 🎉 😊 THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much! Bought my K Supreme less than six months ago and it overheated during descaling. Your video kept me from throwing $180 in the dumpster. From now on, I will take my time with the descaling process.
Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. This was just what I needed. Reset the thermostat and all is good! During the process I discovered why the later models come apart in sections. Mine did this all on its own. While I was trying to work it over the handle. Which of course made the reassembly process much easier. Thanks again!
I'm an HVAC technical support and am impressed! I'll be fixing mine shortly. I was descaling and mistakenly pressed the brew without the water tank connected and it tripped then. I assumed the low water sensor would have prevented it. Perhaps that is bypassed during descaling in order to drain more solution.
My thermostat tripped, I am now certain, after attempting to brew a cup without the water reservoir in place. So if the low water sensor doesn't function without the reservoir attached, it's not limited to descaling only. After watching some of these take-apart videos, I'm surprised that Keurig doesn't have some sort of lockout to prevent brewing in the absence of a reservoir.
Exactly the same here. Descaled, got to the end of the second water tank full, and the descale light stayed on even once the water was out. Hit it one last time and it ran dry, tripped the sensor. Poor design for sure.
Thanks for this very helpful video. I offer the following tip for reassembly. To reinstall the outer case/cover, it is much easier if you disassemble the case into 3 pieces: 1) the curved front with the left & right sides, 2) rear panel, and 3) top panel. This can be done easily by reaching inside the assembly from the bottom (after removal from the main unit) and releasing the tabs holding the rear panel to the side panels, and the single clip between the rear panel and top panel. The top panel (3) will then just slide out from the front & side assembly (2). Then you can easily install the curved front with left/right sides onto the base without having to work around the top handle. Next slide the top cover (2) into place from the rear. Then insert the rear panel (3) into the base, bottom first, and its sides will easily click into place as you apply pressure to bring the top edge of the rear panel towards the top panel. Sorry for the long description, but it's the best I can do without posting a video myself. I see more than one post below with a similar suggestion - I repeat it here, because it's really a worthwhile point to include in a future video!
Incredible!! Thank you so much! I now have a free Keurig because the lady I got it from gave up on trying to fix it. Literally only a matter of minutes to fix thanks to this video. I truly appreciate your time and knowledge. High five ✋
Hello sir. Again you have saved my pockets! My supreme wouldn’t power up like normal. Before ordering a new one (this is almost 3 years old), I remembered your channel and how you saved me a ton of money and headaches when it comes to descaling this machine. This video was SPOT ON! Followed your advice throughout (except for the testing machines that I misplaced over a year ago ). Pulled off cover and reset thermostat and just like that….POWER! My wife is happy also, as she ONLY drinks Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and I Mainly drink from this machine. Again many thanks to you and your channel, and Happy Belated Father’s Day sir!
Excellent tutorial! It was so helpful mentioning the sections that may be hard to remove. I would have given up, worrying I may break the unit. My mom's Keurig is finally working again. We both thank you!
Oh my goodness thank you for this! I am a 63 year old woman accountant about as gifted in equipment repair as a snail. I was able to take the cover off after about an hour and reset the stupid thing! Great video that even a beanhead like me could follow!❤
Thank you! I was descaling mine and it shut off. No power. I did exactly what you said. The cover was a little tricky to remove with those tabs but I got it. My k supreme coffee maker works! Hallelujah! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much, I did it all by myself and it worked! Keurig definitely needs to make these better - my first one lasted probably 7 years. This one only went a little over a year (out of warranty of course!). I appreciate your step-by-step easy instructions!
Just want to say thank you so much for your video! I’m horrible at fixing things but because of your video I was able to fix the problem. If you are anything like me coffee is life so a machine that wasn’t working is just heartbreaking lol Thanks so much! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for all your time and effort that you put into your videos! You mentioned a pump needed replaced in the second unit you showed, or even the thermostat in the first unit....where are you getting your parts? Keurig is no help when I've called them and the local appliance parts store has no access for any parts except the descale kits, water chambers, filters etc. Ive seen folks on Ebay have broken machine's that they sell for $50+++ for parts but thats a real hit or miss. Thanks in advance for your time!
Not sure where to get parts. eBay would be my first thought if someone is parting out a Keurig. Sorry I will keep my eyes open Thanks for your kind words!!!
@@JustADad Thanks for your reply, I thought from the post you had found a source for parts/pumps. This is one of many on going problems that this co has had for too many years... If it don't work, and its not under warranty, its junk/trash! Throw it in the landfill!!! Want to buy another one? and the beat goes on. I appreciate the convenience of the product but......... As always you do a great job and I truly appreciate you channel! I do enjoy it!Have a blessed Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas sir!
Our office Keurig machine was descaled and stopped working with you during video follow step-by-step instructions, and it’s now back up running like a champ Thank you so much. I’m now following you.
WoW Thanks a lot man...Mine was dead after descale it...Took me 10 min to fix it..and she s ALIVE now and working well....Very very helpfull video, amazing,, big thumbs up 5 star etc....hahaha
Suggestion just drill a hole that's adequate size to see this will be easy if you pop the top cover off and use a light to view you may be able to drill your access Holes without taking the machine apart. Just use a drill stop. Then push a paperclip in so you can reset the thermostat you could drill two small holes one of viewing hole and one accessible. This would make the process a whole lot easier. Maybe drill too small holes so you don't have to pop the top cover off you can view in one hole and access the thermostat with the paper clip in the other. You can always put a rubber plug in the hole or holes if you don't want to look at them. My thoughts and suggestion! George W PS A after thought. All the company would have had to do was to circuit to the thermostat when the add water light comes on to disable it. I mean they have a water sensor! Actually it wouldn't be hard to add one! Thank you for giving hindsight in the situation with the thermostat and taking the unit apart!
Thermostats for coffee makers are supposed to close again when the temp goes back down so the thermostat is faulty and only that needs to be replaced once you see that it sticks open again after a manual reset.
My wife was about to buy a new one, because of this video, I look like a hero. Thank you for this. Mine was a slightly different model, so taking the cover off was even more difficult, but the reset thing was the key.
This is my second Keurig Coffee Brewer. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first one lasted 6 years. It worked beautifully until the day it didn't. It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.
Actually, here's a tip to make pulling the cover easier: The back part of the cover is just clipped on, running a small spudger (like from a cell phone tool kit) or a pick along the seams on each side will separate it from the front part - do this AFTER releasing the 6 tabs on the bottom and moving the whole cover up. It makes it a lot easier than trying to slip the whole cover over the top of the machine.
Hi, I appreciate your video but that’s not the problem with my unit. I was wondering if you have made a video on adjusting the lid it’s misaligned and it doesn’t press down on the coffee pod and so it comes on top of pod and the bottom unevenly and the coffee doesn’t taste good it’s too weak I was wondering do you know of a video to help this problem .
Thank you soo much!!! Just descaled mine and after 5 rinsing cycles it was dead. You saved the day! Clear direction with straightforward instructions👍👍
What a great video. I just did my first descaling of my K-Supreme and it was halfway through and shut off and wouldn't come back on. I said to myself "are you freaking kidding me!!!" Hopped online and found your video. Thanks again!!!
Thanks for taking the time to post this tutorial video. I descaled my Keurig Supreme and it just stopped working. So, I GTS. Find your video. Good explanation. You saved me the price of a new coffee maker.
This is a great working solution. One thing i wanted to add for those having issues with the thermostat tripping again and again. Mine reset and powered on first try, Thanks for the solution. But got too hot right away and tripped. So through troubleshooting i found that both motors were working, but no water was being drawn, hence then overheating. I took the motor opposite the tank loose, unhooked the water line from the BOTTOM barb, not side, and powered the motor with a 12v wall transformer. Again, the motor spun but i could feel no air or anything being pumped from the bottom barb. Then, when i applied pressure, with finger, to block the hole of the barb, it primed and began pumping water through the open barb. Cut power from your transformer quickly, dry out the circuit board and reassemble. Works great now. I assume it dried out because it hadn't been used in 9 months.
Hey buddy, I did what you did in the video and it freaking worked!! Awesome 😂😂 except on the newer models when you take off the 1 piece plastic it now comes apart into 3 pieces. Front top and back. I know it fell apart on me. It's back together and working Kool thank you
THANK YOU!!!! It took 30 minutes to get it apart but i'm BACK in business!!! Woot!!This was absolutely a blessing to me. Saved me a bunch of money too. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the video. My machine now powers on but I am having a new issue. The "ADD WATER" light will not stop blinking. I have tried cleaning the reservoir and adding in water when it's off or on etc and nothing works. Do you have any suggestions?? I would appreciate it.
Thank you for the video, My wife has had to replace 4 of these and now I know how to fix them and prevent the issue going forward. When thinking about it, the descaling is when this happens the most. I fixed the last one and it works perfectly by following your video. I have told her to give it 10 to 20 seconds between descaling cups to allow the pot to cool down slightly. Since then she has not had any further issues. Thank you
I've got a K Supreme K920. My wife fired it up with the water reservoir disconnected, I can't believe it lets you do that. It wont let you start a cup if the water is low, but you can start without the reservoir at all!! A bunch of smoke came out of it (not just steam) and then would not power on. Followed your video, hit the reset on the thermostat, and sure enough we're making coffee again. Thank you so much for making this video, saved me a bunch of money and my wife thinks I'm a hero for a few hours.
THANK YOU!!! Mine decided to die after a descale (like apparently many people) and I followed the steps, (geeze it was hard to get that cover off) and it turned on the first try after reassembly. STAY AWESOME!!!
I opened exactly how you said and reset it and it worked!!!!! Thank you very much for providing in detail the steps, I looked at another video but it didn't show step by step. You are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sir, after several attempts And videos, I happened to find your video, and followed your instructions, and got it working again. U just saved me over a hundred dollars just like that. Thank you very much for making this video.
Wow I know this can be very frustrating. Glad I was able to help!!! and thanks so much for your support!!!!!!
Thanks for the tutorial. People shouldn't have to do all of this for the price of this machine. Keurig needs to go back to the drawing board and stop selling it if it's faulty.
Thanks for watching!
Well said Trina
Agreed.
Totally agree! These Keurig machines have always had design problems from the very start. I have owned 4 different types ( all with problems). The design before this last one, seemed to have lasted the longest. I should have kept it and not upgraded to the Supreme. The new descale “mode” is faulty.
@@Andygirl59 yeah I agree 100%
Guess what? I have this same exact coffeemaker, and followed your directions, and BOOM - FIXED! Couldn't have done it without your video. Thanks so much.
Fantastic!
BTW - If the manufacturer [Keurig] was concerned about it purchasers, they would put a reset but on the outside of the machine to easily be used by anyone.
reset but
Where's the fun in that?
You just helped a 70 year old Grandma fix her Keurig! I can’t believe I got it back together and it works good as new. Many thanks!
Oh wow!
If anyone wants to start a class action law suit against Keurig for the emotional distress this coffee machine has caused humannity I will gladly join.
😂😂😂😂I completely agree. I’ve only had this Keurig for 5 months now & 1st the Descale light was on & now it won’t even power on🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
@@CharismaFarrowyup exactly same for me...de scale light never ever went off even after de scaling lol smh....and now ...im looking up this damn vid bc it won't power on....I don't wanna do all this work 😑
Agreed
Stupid manufactured’ why we should go through all this to reset it should make it more reliable to reach to it . 😢
Hahaha! 👍🏻. We should all call them. I’m sure their phone system can handle 500k + inbound calls.
Thanks man! Prior to watch this video I called Keurig and they told me my brewer was not in warranty and they tried to make me buy a new one! I fixed mine thanks to this video! God Bless you!
Great to hear!
You are welcome! Thanks so much for you support!!!!! It really Helps!!!!
I hope you never get tired of people thanking you because THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! You're a life saver!
Thank you!
You just saved us 115$ 😊
-Instead of the flat screwdriver, I use a small trowel or paint tool to avoid doing dents in the plastic.
You're welcome! Good job fixing your coffee maker!!!!
What is your favorite Coffee?
Great job!
This is the new K express essentials model.
I guess we take the wins where we can get them!
THANK YOU!
Glad it helped!!!
LOL thanks for sharing your awesome story!!! Now its time for some coffee!
Thanks! I really appreciate being able to repair things, which I'm fully comfortable doing... but seeing how to take apart certain cases, etc., is SO helpful.
Glad to help! Thanks for you support!!!
Thank you! I was able to rescue my dead Keurig from the trash can with your trip. The Supreme Plus has a case that comes off in a very different way, but I was able to get it off, reset the switch, and it's working again!
Thanks so much for your Support!!!
You just saved me from the worst caffeine headache of all time, you deserve a medal
Glad it helped!
Thanks so much for you kind words!
Thank you!You saved my Keurig and my marriage. Quick and easy fix. Great tutorial!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
You're welcome!
Descaled yesterday and the machine died this morning when I tried to make a cup. Gonna give this a go when I get home from work. Thanks for posting!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You saved my Keurig and saved me a bunch of money! You also gave me coffee now! Keurig should put a reset button on the outside! 😊
Also my husband and son thought we were pretty smart! When they saw us (my daughter and I) working on it they thought it was a goner for sure !
Your welcome glad it helped!!
Yeah I’m about to call keurig for my 4 or 5 replacement so far. Still under warranty and always happens after descaling.
It's so frustrating that they brake like this ....this happened to me also with them continuously breaking .
Excellent!
Thanks for sharing. Had issues taking it apart. But the reset worked and in time for my morning coffee.
Thanks again...Yambo
thank you for saving our keurig! the thermostat got tripped by descaling but the reset fixed it like a charm
and the best part is the descaling light is STILL on after all that
LOL that darn Descale light is causing more problems than its worth. Sorry but I kind of laugh at when you said the descale light is still on.
Man i had this same issue on my first K-Supreme plus, but thankfully the machine was under warranty and keurig sent me an new one. But i'm saving this video for sure just in case if my current one ever dies like that again. Once again keep up the great content.
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!!!
me too, i’m gonna fix my first one and give the new one to my mom if it works!
Thanks! Saved my KSlim by resetting the flux capacitor after running out of water on descale. Awesome video
Excellent!
Thanks so much for you kind words and support!!! they really mean so much!!!
Nice instructions. Suggestions to make this a little easier:
1. don’t remove the 3 screws on the bottom then the base won’t separate from the inner workings
2. Remove the back first
3. Remove the top by sliding it back
4. Remove the side last
5. Reverse to reinstall
Thanks for a great tutorial!
Thanks I bet that is a lot easier!! thanks so much for helping!
@@AoiRozlin same here
It worked on mine! No way I could have done it without this video thank you!
Glad it helped!
You saved me from buying a new coffee maker. Thanks so much!
Wow thanks so much for your support
I'm so glad I found this post! I opened up the Keurig, used the paperclip to reset the thermostat sensor and, voila, it started up. 1 hour to fix > $200 to buy a new one - Thank you!!
Wonderful!
Single mom of two and I was able to do it! Thank you!
The best how-to video around resetting the high temperature cut out, and I'm good to go. Keurig should have made this with an external reset.
Glad it was helpful!
Great job! 👍
Thank you so much for providing this video. I would have never been able to figure that out on my own. Your step by step video just saved me $150.
You're welcome!
Glad I could help!!!
You made our life better! We needed our coffee!! Thank you for posting this!
You are so welcome!
Just a dad, you’re amazing. I am a 60+ woman and I was able to follow your video take apart my Keurig reset it and it’s working again (although I’m not sure for how long 😂😂)thank you so much for how easily you explain and go through these repairs. I really appreciate you.
Great job!
Awesome!! good job, Proud of you for fixing it!!!
This works great. I was about to throw it away and now it works fine.
Glad it helped! Good job fixing it!!!1
Thanks for the heads up, the challenge that I faced was putting it back together having all the plastic clips fall into place, but other than that this was spot on and you’re going places. Thanks for your help, and your kindness
Glad I could help
Major challenge for me also. After several tries getting it on as one piece, I unclipped the top and back as one piece and attached that after getting the front portion in place and clipped in. Top and back clipped on last with no issues at all. Worked perfectly. That’s the only way I’ll reassemble it going forward.
Definitely a cheap part that should qualify for recall. They could have caught this in QA and I think the descale instructions are purposely vague.
Thanks so much! It worked! This 63 year-old grandma did it all by herself ...with your help. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
THANKS! Back in business thanks to your video. I'm just a dad at 51 fixing more & more on my own from clothes washers/ dryers/ cars to Keurig Coffee machines. I appreciate your work.
That is awesome! Good job DAD!!
Thanks for watching, yeah good idea.
This will be my last Keurig. You follow the directions for descaling and it fails. Brilliant engineering
I absolutely agree it’s total bull … I had a crappy coffee pot that was 10 dollars that lasted 10 years longer
Awesome instructions. Luckily it reset for us. Thank you immensely, you started 2022 happily for us keurig/coffee lovers. You have a Happy New Year, too!
Glad I could help!
Good job fixing it!
@@jennifermarvelactually it is meant to not last too long. Intended design
Thank you!!! I was losing my mind trying to get it back together
thanks, pushed my reset and it works again!
Great to hear!
Incredible!! Thank you so much! I now have a free Keurig because the lady I got it from gave up on trying to fix it. Literally only a matter of minutes to fix thanks to this video. I truly appreciate your time and knowledge. High five ✋
you are very welcome!!! Glad to help and you will love your new coffee maker!!! good job fixing it!!!
Your so welcome!!!
Great job!
You're welcome!
Holy moly this was so helpful. Thank you for your detailed step by step video!
You're so welcome!
Sorry I will keep my eyes open
Thanks for your kind words!!!
@@JustADad Thanks for your reply, I thought from the post you had found a source for parts/pumps. This is one of many on going problems that this co has had for too many years...
George W
PS A after thought.
Good point thanks for Sharing
This was perfect!
Super easy and simple to follow along . My problem was fixed after doing this 🙌🙌🙌
Glad it helped!
My wife was about to buy a new one, because of this video, I look like a hero. Thank you for this. Mine was a slightly different model, so taking the cover off was even more difficult, but the reset thing was the key.

Same to you and I am glad it helped!
HINT: To help keep the tabs sprung, I cut and shoved thin strips of paper down in the tab area. You might try more paper clips or toothpicks.
Great idea thanks for Sharing!!!!
Toothpicks worked for me
Actually, here's a tip to make pulling the cover easier: The back part of the cover is just clipped on, running a small spudger (like from a cell phone tool kit) or a pick along the seams on each side will separate it from the front part - do this AFTER releasing the 6 tabs on the bottom and moving the whole cover up. It makes it a lot easier than trying to slip the whole cover over the top of the machine.
Great idea and thanks for Sharing to help me an others!!!
Will try this if there is a next time, thanks for the tip!
I found this out when I couldn't put it back together! Lol
I said to myself "are you freaking kidding me!!!"
Hopped online and found your video.
Thanks again!!!
Bingo! I am now a Keurig tech!
Fixed it! Didn’t break any thing and no extra parts!
Thank you 🙏
Nice work!
Thanks for taking the time to post this tutorial video. I descaled my Keurig Supreme and it just stopped working. So, I GTS. Find your video. Good explanation. You saved me the price of a new coffee maker.
I fixed my machine because of this video. It took about 20 minutes. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing a great tip!!
Hey buddy, I did what you did in the video and it freaking worked!! Awesome 😂😂 except on the newer models when you take off the 1 piece plastic it now comes apart into 3 pieces. Front top and back. I know it fell apart on me. It's back together and working Kool thank you
My husband followed your instructions and it worked like a charm! Thank you so much, you just saved me $160!
THANK YOU!!!! It took 30 minutes to get it apart but i'm BACK in business!!! Woot!!This was absolutely a blessing to me. Saved me a bunch of money too. Thank you!
Excellent!
Thank you
I fixed the coffee machine after watching your video. I am so grateful to you.❤
I've got a K Supreme K920.
