    You, sir, are a lifesaver. Just finished descaling my Keurig Slim, was going through the water rinses and all of a sudden the machine shut down and nothing I did could get it to turn back on. A WTF moment if there ever was one. Found this video, and with a second of trepidation, the shop knife and phillips screwdrivers were out. All of a sudden, I felt like a heart surgeon reaching for tools, and wiping the sweat from my forehead, knowing this was a patient I had to save. I paused my rock xmas music playlist when I got to the critical moment of the paper clip insertion. "Click", it was done, but Slim (as I call him) was not out of the woods. Getting the patient closed up was not an easy task. Tabs, clips, screws, and rubber feet were all ahead of me. Finally, it was done with no parts left over! After I do a mental drum roll, I press the power button and...............nothing! NOOOOOOO! Turns out I forgot to plug it back in. D'oh. Did the plug thing and all is right with the world. I guess you can teach this 70-year-old dog new tricks. Many, many, many thanks.

      Same thing here, Mr. Big Shot. Keurig will send me another one though as it is still under warranty. Second one that this has happened.

    Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I descaled my slim last night before going to bed. All of a sudden no power to slim. This morning I looked at a unplug solution so left unplugged all day. Finally plugged in. Nothing. Time to search utube. Found your video. This 73 yo grandma needed her coffee. It works. So great full to you.

      Hi Just a Dad - you make great videos! I always look to you when I have a keurig problem, and you’ve always come through!
      Right now I’m trying to do a reset. After descaling, I tried using the keurig next day and no power. I’ve taken it apart, tried the reset button, and still no power. However, I did not feel or hear anything at all to indicate a switch being set. I tried pushing harder, no luck.
      Any advice?

    Wow, this totally worked for us. Keurig customer service "trouble shooting" was just testing our outlet. They recommend junking the machine and buying a new one! All fixed, all better. Thanks, JustaDad.

    Keurig K-slim. Astronaut. Coffee-maker, barely alive. Gentlemen, we have the technology. We can make him better. Stronger. Faster. Thank you, sir! It took me longer to find the tools around the house than to take apart and fix, then put back together. Now works like a charm! THANKYOU!

    Wifey tried to make a cup without water and no power afterwards. It was very satisfying to hear the little click of the thermostat and then plug it in and have it work again. Thank you sir. I hope you’re having a wonderful day!

    My husband insisted that I am the one that broke the Keurig, so I had to fix it! I said, " Fine, you stay completely away and don't put your two cents in". Admittedly, I did struggle due to my eyes are not the best and I honestly needed better lighting. However, I did it and it is now working! So, Thank you! BTW, my Keurig is only a year old and we've only used it in our motorhome. Thank you again 😊

    Thanks so much for this video. I had not used my Keurig K Supreme for several months. When I tried to use it this morning, it shut down and nothing worked. I called Keurig Customer Support with no luck. They just wanted me to buy a new machine. I found this video and the reset of the sensor worked. Thanks again.

    I’m 75 years old ….. and was able to do exactly what JustADad demonstrated to do! And my Keurig now works … I had descaled it….and it wouldn’t turn on at the end of the descale… reset it! Thank you!

    You, my friend, are a genius! I am on my third k-slim and it died today during descaling. The first two were replaced under warranty, but it was a PIA to get it processed. This literally took five minutes, heard the click, snapped it back together and it worked. I think the problem is there video does not advise you to add additional water! HERO!

    This worked perfectly for me. Thank you so much for posting it. This is just another example of consumer product companies building in obsolescence and/or self destruction into their products. This could be so easily avoided in the product design with a reset switch or a self performing reset in the software when the unit overheats during descaling or heavy use. They must figure the opportunity costs for most users to figure this out is less than the cost of getting a new unit and they are probably right about that.

    Your video save me from buying a new coffee maker after mine stopped powering during descaling. (I wish now that Neurig had a built-in reset button or, at least a mention of the ptotential to trip the thermostat during descaling.)
    The steps were clearly presented and the video clearly showed what needed to be done to disassemble, reset the themostat, and reassemble the Keurig. Saved me a lot of time fumbling around. Thanks.

    I love your videos! You have no idea how easy you make it seem and fix the problem with Keurig. I’m a 50 years young lady and always told my son once you open it up (anything electronic or motorized) it will never work again. Boy was I wrong. I searched last night for 4 hours trying to listen and pay attention to all the other videos of other people but I found you. You should have been ateacher or a professor. Your voice is calming and assured of what your teaching or help us repair.
    I fixed my own Keurig Slim and I thank you!!! I have subscribed and kind of secretly excited if one day f my sharks or Dysons stop working. I know you will be right here showing me and others how to fix it!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🤩🌴

    Thank you so much! I was able to push in the reset on the thermostat by only loosening the panels and sneaking my hand inside. Saved me at least $100 thinking it was a dead soldier. And the pesky descaling light issue was fix by watching your other video!

      With all that we each paid for these, it shouldn’t die in a year! Mine is dead now too and I’m sure it’s this issue- but keurig should either fix the issue or refund us.

    Thanks for posting the repair. I had exactly the same problem. This was our second machine which had been replaced under warranty. While I was getting ready to toss this one in the garbage out of frustration my wife found your video. Looks like the bimetallic high limit switch doesn’t want to reset on its own. Paper clip worked perfectly. Now I can enjoy my coffee while typing this response. Much appreciated.

    Thanks, just a dad! I tried this on the Keurig K slim iced brewer and it worked like a charm.
    The front didn't come all the way off like in your video but I managed to reset the machine.
    I had sent my original Keurig back for replacement so this was the second one and it is a hassle to give them all the documentations. Your video save me from all of that and I applaud you. 😊

    Great video. I was going to buy a new coffee maker tomorrow. I thought "Why not see if this is on you tube?" Sure enough, I found this video....
    I was very skeptical the whole time I was taking my machine apart, doing the paper clip thing, then putting my machine back together.
    But Yea!! The machine has power again, and a video saved me lots of time and money.

    You are a Godsend, I called keurig customer Service after my Keurig stopped working while I was descaling it And they couldn’t figure out how to solve the issue so they just mentioned buying a new one but this was a gift by my mom so I didn’t want to just buy a new one ( plus I just spent money on buying a descaling kit) this really helped a lot thank you

    Worked like a charm for my K-Slim with Iced Coffee maker. BUT: had to do it two times because that darned air pocket caused the overheating… twice! The third time I heard it sputtering and I immediately unplugged it. Gave it a minute, re-primed the water again… and then started a cycle. And it worked like usual! Thank you, again, for your thorough walk-through!

    Your video was sooo easy to follow! I descaled my newest Keurig before went in to help a local LTC place last night. I only had a few hours sleep this morning, was suffering from a headache & then the disappointed of my freshly cleaned machine not powering up.
    A Redditer shared your video and I had my machine fixed in under an hour. (Probably would've been even quicker if I hadn't had to refresh my self on using my multimeter)

    I did it! It was a bit tricky but I kept on trying....and took my time. Just A Dad guy totally walks you through it....I had to pause or replay a few times....but I got it reset. It didn't click but I just made sure to press firmly. It works great now.😊

    Just like the other comments. I was just about to buy myself a new Keurig after it bricked up after a descaling process but came across this video. I mean it was going in the trash anyway what's the worse that can happen. I pulled it apart, hit the reset, cleaned it up, and put it all back together, and it worked. Thank you so very much.     Thank you so much for this video. My Keurig would not turn on this morning and what is a day without a coffee start? I was skeptical thinking that I might have to buy a new one, particularly when I stuck the paper clip into the reset hole and didn't hear a click. So I pushed it in there several times with the feeling I'd still have to buy a new one but, alas, your technique worked. Thank you again!!

    Thanks for the step by step video. As per your instructions, this grandma was able to save Slim from an early demise. I had to slightly lift the reservoir repeadedly, since the thermostat did not want to cooperate. Also, I kept the housing off, until I finally was able to get a full cycle of descaling. (For which I used vinegar) (evidently, the Keurig descaling solution I used three weeks ago didn't do such a great job, otherwise it would not have come to this emergency operation) Thanks again!

    Worked like a charm. My mom was about to throw hers out so i reverted back to my old adage, I cant break it more. Followed the vid, 30 min later works like a charm. Beauty here is I have a slim for my RV so now I know what's up if that does the same thing.

    Thank you very much! I was just descaling my slim machine, noticed the add water light was not going on, so I tried pressing again. The machine died. Just got off phone with Keurig, sending me a new one at 50% off. Then I found your video. I did exactly what you said and it works!!!! Thank you. What a sham that they can’t tell you that it’s a simple fix!

    Omg thank you so much for this video. My grandma’s keurig shut down after she took the water reservoir while it was descaling. We called customer service and they just said if it’s plugged in to a working socket and still not turning on than we need a new one. Well my grandma has two tool boxes and we always put things together ourselves so we followed your video and got it to work!

    OK... I'm about halfway into this disassembly process, and I've already nearly bloodied my left thumb on those 5 upper needles in the K-pod chamber! Be sure to secure a rag with a rubber band in there to protect yourself. (LATER) Got the thermostat reset and (with minimal difficulty) got the whole thing back together again. Now de-scaling with cleaning vinegar. WORD OF WARNING! : Don't EVER let the water tank run completely dry!!! THANKS DAD for this awesome video!!!

    Great video! Our manager got us one of these and when we descaled it recently, it wouldn't power on after we had rinsed it. Sure enough it was because the reservoir when dry... I followed your video and got it working again!

(Okay, maybe that's a bit of an overstatement... but you did save me more than $100 with this simple, step-by-step video to reset the thermostat on my Keurig Slim coffee maker!) Apparently, a cycle was started without sufficient water in the tank... and BOOM! Suddenly no worky worky. A simple 10-minute reset repair, and back to regular morning coffee. So, perhaps you DID save a life, as I will not have to do without coffee again tomorrow! Thanks, sir! 🙂

    I started and stopped this comment about 10 times. I tried to make it short and compact but failed every time, (because there is so much I wish I could tell you). Bottom line, this mornings descaling killed my machine exactly as you described, by NOT flashing the "ADD WATER" light. I contacted tech support and got the usual "Did you try turning it off and on again, try another wall outlet... If that fails, you need a new machine" (ref: The IT Crowd) I purchased a new Keurig Slim on Amazon. (by the way, Keurig did offer 35% off a $159 Slim when it's $99 on Amazon) Before trashing the old one I thought "I wonder if RUclips knows a guy" ;-) ;-) I found and watched your video twice and fixed my machine in less than ten minutes. Very well documented steps, easy to follow. Thank you :-) :-) I still wish I could tell you the full story . After the fix I called tech support again and asked why this solution was not proposed... they had no real answer. Again: Thank YOU :-) :-)

    I can't believe it. I did it and it worked!!!!!
    After running multiple descale cycles it powered off. I must of overheated it in my diligence.
    This thing is a BEAST to take apart. I am your typical female, with NO background in electronics. I am tenacious though.

    OMG!!! I left my wedding ring on top of the lid (washing dishes, completely forgot I left it there) and I was trying to make coffee for my husband the next morning and the ring went inside after I lifted the lid up to insert the pod.     I have two Kuerig Coffee makers, but my K900 model wasn't used for several months and did not work at all, but now after watching your video I will open it up and reset the Thermostat. Thank you friend! I need a quick fix!!!😜😜😜😇😇😇♥♥♥!

    We have a K 900 in our cabin in Maine. The cabin sits empty over the winter. Upon our arrival from Cal. the coffee maker was dead. Was expecting to have to buy a new one but gave RUclips a shot. Your repair video was just what I needed to bring it back to life ! Thanks !

    After a failed attempt at descaling (not doing it the correct way) our Keurig K-Slim would not power back on. We were about to throw it in the trash when I decided to do a search to see if there were ways to "reset" it. Sure enough, this worked. I also followed the descale instructions to the letter on another Just A Dad Video and was able to properly descale the unit without any issues. Thank you!

    You are a lifesaver. The first go around didn't work but you mentioning to try the rest a little harder did the trick. Crazy how this machine just stops like this when it overheats

    So happy to have found your videos tonight. Just was given a slightly used one of these Slim models and all of your videos are helpful as it sat awhile with some water in it with heavy minerals. But I wish I would have known the info in this video 5 years ago - threw out one of those $300 color touch screen models with the tanks that lit up (something like the K500s?) for the very things you mentioned in this video! It was brand new. Put into storage for a year, after only been used 6 months by just me (and not even daily). Took out to use after moving. Ran descale, and it didn’t start back up once done. I was heartbroken- wish I had another one and knew how to keep it working - loved it!!
