We know that the whole point of having a Keurig is that you don’t need to know anything about making coffee. Still, understanding a little about how your machine works is a BLESSING. It will see you in good stead for when you find your Keurig not working.

While there are plenty of different models in the Keurig original and Keurig 2.0 ranges, the fundamental mechanisms are the same. There are two essential parts to the Keurig brewing process - the machine itself and the brand’s unique K-Cups.
The K-Cup is inserted into the chamber, ready for the brewing process to begin. It is punctured at the top by an upper needle, allowing hot water to enter. It’s simultaneously punctured at the bottom to allow the brewed coffee to exit into your cup. When you press the button to brew, water from the cold-water reservoir is pumped into the heating chamber.
Once the water reaches the optimal temperature, it’s pumped to the brewer, where it passes through the grounds in the K-Cup.
Despite being a capsule coffee maker, the Keurig uses an extraction method similar to drip coffee. This is compared to Nespresso coffee makers, which use pressure extraction identical to an espresso machine.

Change your title, so it’s accurate! This is FAR from a fix for “ALL”problems. This fixes only the first simplest most obvious problem of clogged needles. NOT HELPFUL and your title is misleading AF.

Thank you! My K-Elite would power up, try to start brewing coffee and then shut off completely with no power. I watched your video and unclogged everything with a paper clip. She is back up and running! Did this all at 5:30AM desperate for a coffee 🤣🤣🤣 thank you!

@@sweetcaroline1125i unfortunately took the whole machine apart because I was sure I was having a power issue. I realized mine was just clogged up. I believe it was shutting down as a safety mechanism. I unclogged it and it started running like normal. Use a paperclip 📎 like in the video. It worked for me, good luck!
_My duo is almost 2 yrs old. Never used the carafe side. Recently it started to do a weird thing that I can’t find a fix for. When I do the usual, it will fill hot water to the correct size into my mug & everything else works, no visible leaks to the outside, except it’s not going thru the k-cup. I’ve done descale maintenance & all. No luck. The only thing I haven’t done is taken it apart._ 😫

I've had my original classic Keurig machine for over 10+yrs now with no issues.
The first ones my friends bought when they first came out gave up replacing them. WHY? WHAT WAS THE PROBEM WITH THEM? Because most people turn the power on & off when going to make a cup(s) and the heater switch is (or was) being used everyday or every use to turn the machine on & off, and the heater switch burns out quickly that way being turned on & off so often. Not sure if Keurig ever fixed this problem, after it happened to me with my first machine that only lasted a year, from then on I just KEET THE MACHINE ON EVERYDAY AND NEVER TURN IT OFF. The lights are all that stay on power wise just like any old coffee maker pot clock.
I keep the tank full always with fresh water (unless going away for a long period), and I've never had a problem with the machine in over 10ys+. I clean it twice a year & descale it easily within an half hour at most.
Help please?! How to fix the arm on a K2.0 -500 model that is now discontinued? It’s stuck in the up position and won’t push down. Love this model! It features a touchscreen, 60oz tank, more importantly can be set to turn on/off, brew strength, water heating for tea/Cocoa, 4,6,8,10cup options. My point is they don’t make a similar model, none that will stay on with set on & off time. Are there Keurig repair professionals out there to take it to? Love my old Keurig!! Thanks😊
Lift arm look under you will see what I call a lip with a square indentation,lightly pullon it while lowering should shut then.

My Keurig acts like it has a plugged lower needle. I believe that the K cups are not being pushed down far enough or that the needle has receded a bit. The needle punctures the bottom of the k cup but it doesn't push the K cup far enough to allow the coffee to go through the needle orifice. Thanks for the great video.
My coffee keeps tasting really weak. I have done cleaning Cycles and there are actually not many grounds when I do the cleaning. What causes weakness with it when the K-Cup already appears to be clean
I have the same issue, the coffee was tasting great, then I descaled with vinegar, suddenly the coffee was weak and watery. I cleaned the needles, they didn't seem to be clogged. Called customer support, they told me to descale again, I did, it maybe helped a tiny bit but I still haven't gotten back to the great coffee flavor I was getting before I descaled. I wonder if maybe the water is not hot enough so it's not bringing as much flavor out of the grounds?

Bc the water always came out with no coffee inserted. But when I punctured the bottom twice, it would come out.

My Keurig has been descaled with vinegar, and descaling solution, I have the many flows of water the problem is to descaling light refuses to shut off I don't know what to do. I've already done make sure with a needle everything was cleared everything's all good. Any solutions
It took me around 10-15 descaling processes for the light to turn off
I have a model B77. If dispensing clear water (example, for tea) it works perfectly filling cup as necessary for size selected. However, with K-cup inserted, it will fill differently every time and usually only 1/4 cup even though large cup was selected. No extra water goes thru the diverted valve back to the reservoir when this happens. The check valve was disassembled and cleaned, works well. It is as if the water pump does not have sufficient pressure to force water thru K-cup. Any suggestions?

My Keurig does not turn the lights on. I have to unplug and restart. It will growl, if lucky, work for one cup. Then, the lights do not turn back on, if you want a second cup. I have to unplug again and reset. If lucky, it will work again. Oftentimes, it does not. What's going on?

I had the exact same experience. Coffee grounds all over, water splashing all over.
- Poked something through the spouts, now it works fine.
- Definitely seems like grounds got into the spiggets.
In what universe does this "...Fix *All* Keurig Problems..."?! It did not address the problems that my machine is having.

When using those fill your own cartridges in model B30 , it will pop open before the brewing is complete and the force is strong enough to jump the cartridge out of the holder. Have you had experience with this? Thank you.
I’m having problems with my Keurig making loud noises when it’s starting up. Sounds like something is rattling inside of it. It still makes coffee. It’s just that noise is just so annoying.

I did this needle cleaning technique a few weeks ago and it worked, but today the issue came back (noise, but no water came out) and this time it didn’t work. I repeated the steps a few times and it hasn’t helped. Please help if you have another suggestion.
Don’t rotate the k-cup if you want to reuse it just lift and close the lid and choose the desired amount. You get grounds because that k-cup has already been pierced if you rotate the k-cup it’s going to get pierced in different places and the grounds are going to “escape” and make a mess.

I have a 2.0 keurig and the water comes out but not in a stream it’s going everywhere.. was in storage everything else works all displays but which hole actually should go to top or just HELP!!!! Live it and am not ready to throw away!!
Try pulling your black gasket around the top needle down a bit. I think I pushed mine up when wiping it down as I do once a week and man, I was getting so frustrated! I have a k cup drawer under my machine so everytime it would splash, it was a HUGE mess! Good luck! Our machine is 10 years old and I don't want to throw ours away either 😆
My lid will not close I can hold my finger on the button under the k express but how can I make the lid close to fix it so I can have my coffee 😢

what do you do if the needles become dull that it doesn't pierce the bottom of the pods? is there a way to sharpen it or do you have to replace the whole unit cup holder?

I was having coffee grinds all over my keurig as well. It took me about 45 minutes to clean my machine. We must have a hard water going forward. I did make sure that the needles were clean as well because I have seen the needle to where it was dark. I did not even know that it had holes in it.😂 that definitely worked for my Keurig🎉 thank you very much👏🏽😊
When I turn it on it heats up and starts then turns off. Just a little water drips through then it turns off.

on my keurig the heater stopped working is there a fix for that? i think its a wire burnt of from the kettle part where it just sits there with the heating up logo..
My keurig shuts off when I place a kcup in.
It works without anything in it to just give hot water but the minute I place a kcup in it shuts the whole machine down (off...lights out)

We got a brand new Keurig and we used it 3 times only, and the coffee grains started spilling everywhere inside of the coffee and fully loaded where we put the coffee K dispenser.

4:50 pm coffee grinds all over, gave it a good clean still did not work! Shuts down. Went and bought a brand new one and it’s doing the same thing! Same model. Keurig Elite model

The same thing happens to mine. They run clear when there's no K-cup in there but when you put the K-cup in the water goes in the k-cup but it doesn't come out so the grinds bubble up through the top of the K-cup. I even replaced that first basket you pulled out even though it wasn't clogged. It still does it. It makes no sense the water goes into the K-cups and won't come out but rushes through the machine without a K-cup in place. I've had this happen on 2 previous machines and just end up replacing them. They only last about a year.
I clean my needles top and bottom gives me clean water. then a couple cups of coffee. then grounds, then grounds inside, I clean again, take out the pod holder and look down and see lots of coffee grounds down on the bottom of the floor like area, how do I get that out and why is it happening and how do I stop this, is it bad pods? pods do seem raised, should they have air inside them? I had coffee grounds before and could clean my needles but now.
I had that problem....turned out it was a faulty cup, no filter material was installed during production! Had to clean up, what a hassle!
My carry machine gives me a little bit of cup of coffee better enough to drink isn't my carriers this machine is probably pretty old it's probably time to get a new one I probably will get a new one soon I'll give you a little bit of coffee when I run the water in it the water comes out like like the coffee should come when I do what the coffee or coffee in a cup
My Kurieg K-cup dribbles for about a minuite after done brewing then heats up and dribbles some more about another ounce of coffee then dripps for a while. I have cleaned the needles etc and even did the reset using the buttons. Can you help?
My problem is the bottom part of the needle. It doesn't make the puncture wide enough. It is very small and the plastic does not bend/fold up inside the kcup as it should. This makes it do a slight drip and backs up the water with coffee grinds spilling over the top. This is so annoying I have to stand there and wait for the water to start going inside it the open it and try and reposition the stupid kcup and hope it doesn't pour all coffee grounds inside my cup. And the top inside by the pin on the top doesn't have a hole anywhere but it does on the bottom part.

This video had nothing to do with my problem but it solved my problem anyway. While showing how to clean the pins I noticed that the bottom part of the K-cup holder looked different than mine. When I looked I found that mine had detached. I probably didn't put it back together properly the last time I cleaned it. So thank you for unintentionally solving the problem I was having.
My issue is that the water will pump through but NOT when there is a k cup in place.
My coffee maker starting doing the same thing , just under a month old but when I put in my K cup it works , I always run a 6 oz of water after I get done with 2 cups I am done with coffee in the morning so I don’t thing mine has grime in it, just started this morning.

Mine does the same thing. Also, it produces too much water. When I set it to 8, it will make 12.
My last shot at effective descaling/unclogging was to run through water just short of boiling ...That did the trick! be careful...but it worked!
