Still crying my eyes out, can't believe the loss of Andy. A true gentleman the likes of whom we won't see again.
Rest well my friend at your eternal reward.

I heard my first Silly Wizard song while listening to an eclectic radio station in Santa Barbara, CA. I was at the beach inside my car watching the ocean at night. Suddenly one of the most beautiful songs I'd ever heard, "When Summer Ends", came on. After the host said it was "Silly Wizard", I vowed to find out where I could get the album. Amazingly , a couple of days later, the front page of the Ojai Valley News said "Silly Wizard" was going to be performing in Ojai that weekend and that it was their last tour. As a young woman who could barely afford my 1st apartment, I made sure to afford a ticket, and I can honestly say that was the greatest and most memorable concert I'd ever been to. 10 years later, I was fortunate enough to see Andy M. Stewart performing solo in Ojai once again. Another amazing and memorable performance and as he was very kind . Rest in peace Andy M. Stewart. Your music not only opened the door to other celtic music for me, but your singing enriched my life more than you could know.

I co-host a folk / traditional music programme on Aberdeen’s local community radio station, “SHMU FM”. On last week’s programme - which can be heard through this link :
    www.shmu.org.uk/fm/shows/wednesday-session
until Thursday 14th Jan. , Colin and I played some of our favourite Andy M. songs in his memory and as a musical tribute to the fine body of music he has left us to enjoy.
    May he rest in peace.

The above appeal has been posted recently on some traditional music websites. My brother played in "Silly Wizard" with Andy for 11 years, and confirms that it is a genuine appeal launched by Andy's sister Angela. If you are one of the many people who have enjoyed Andy's music over his career, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
