This song was originally written as part of the score for the musical "HAIR" (called a "hippie musical" at the time). There were other songs that made top 40 radio charts in the top 5 - including "HAIR", by The Cowsills, "Age of Aquarius / Let the Sun Shine in" sung by the 5th Dimension and "Good Morning Starshine". Incredible soundtrack.
Those were the days
I remember a very young Nell Carter singing this song in Hair.
@@simchabaruch7023So much good music. We were spoiled rotten with great music.
Love this band
Very few, ever, can compare.
A Outstanding and under appreciated vocal group from the late 60s to mid 70s.
Not at all under appreciated. They had many top ten hits that are still timeless.
@@StevenCarinciyou’re right, they were very appreciated, loved Three Dog Night!👍👏👏👏🥰
The American Indians had the best description to explain who you are. For example, the word
"friend" in some Indian tribes was " One who shares my sorrows" . So beautiful...so descriptive of a friend.
👍👍👍This brought back memories of my youth. Loved Three Dog Night. 🖖❤
This Group doesn't Miss .
Deep inventory .
Out in the country is another beautiful song by 3 Dog Night that I hope you get to soon 🙏
Yes!
Before the breathing air is gone.
@@brianherrington7226Before the sun is just a bright spot in the night time.

It's wonderful seeing your great appreciation for these guys. Kudos to you taste and your musical ear.
Such a beautiful, smooth song. Great vocals.
Three Dog Night were a serious part of the soundtrack to my childhood. They’re so good. Please keep going with them.
“Try a Little Tenderness”is not to be missed, if you’re interested in more 3DN
Most number one hits between 1969 and 1972. Great band. Check out this song from the musical Hair. Amazing...
Tell that shit Biz
Three Dog Night....What they do to a song is fantastic. Three excellent lead singers. They also cover songs rearranging them and turn them into top hits when the original releases weren't. Loved them from the start.
Love Three Dog Night. This song is even more pertinent today! However, this track is so beautiful with the voice and instrumentation. Perfect.
Really great timeless sentiment they made with this song ..
Love this tune I think this one would take anyone over 50 back to better days hearing this one
I'll be 49 next month and does that for me! Close enough though, right?
I should have said 40 Thats fine @@garyclark9618
Another great cover from the rock opera Hair. Chuck Negron is one of rock's best singers.
My very favorite of their songs
My favorite Three Dog song , thanks for the great breakdown of the lyrics.
Love to listen to you break it down! Some people only care when they have an audience for their caring! Thanks for your true words. And great reaction as always!!!
Dude, as much as you enjoyed this.. you need to hear "Old-fashioned Love Song" by them.
And this particular sound... Only other band I ever play along with these guys, is The Grassroots. So similar a vibe and sound. And the vocals!! Anything by them fr.
This group of once very young men were truly blessed with such wonderful gifts in music. They once had the World by the tail.
One of my all-time favorite song from Three Dog Night. It's cover song from the Tony Award winning Broadway Musical, "Hair." Excellent song!
Favorite cover of a song from that musical Hair. Three Dog Night were the bomb back then.
Always loved this tune from 3 Dog Night! As a young kid, I had their album, Golden Biscuits, which was a compilation of their Hits, up to that point, which was about 1971..
Biz...react to Black and White...from 3 Dog Night.
Super talented group. Many charted songs through the 70's. They were on the radio all the time.
One of my favorite bands. They should be in the rock n roll hall of fame. Icons.
Thank you, I’m so glad that you reacted to this song, one of my favorites, another great one is Pieces of April
Pieces of April is a beautiful song.
Good stuff Biz. Old Fashioned Love Song is another one
This was always one of my favorite songs off of Golden biscuits. I'm glad somebody from this generation is getting to hear it again! Peace!
👍👍
Great review, man - one of my favorite three dog night songs
I just turned 68 and I have about 5 true friends, many acquaintances and lots of pals. A true friendship is a diamond, not a cubic zirconia.
Astute observations , Biz .
Appreciate your thoughts .
Truth Biz
my all time fave 3 dog song still in my dac....
Love 3DN. They are a band with such a varied musical catalog which shows just how talented they are. This reminds me that I need to replace my CD of their greatest.
tell it!
Beautiful Classic
When I was a preteen I liked Three Dog Night, and my older brother said it was Bubblegum. He said that about a lot of bands I liked, but he was wrong. He did turn me on to the Stones The Who Zeppelin Floyd and Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Etc.
He was a guitar player and we played all the Classics for decades together. Rip
ive missed you Biz.... glad you are getting into this one too. chuck negron is a dear friend of mine. he's quite the character.... thank you !!
What a great song! You're exactly right, Biz.
PLEASE "Out in the Country! " such a great song honoring the great outdoors.
Enjoyed your reaction 👍😉
Please do videos. Watching the artists sing their hearts out is so important to those of us raised on Arena Rock and MTV when it used to be good.
Three Dog Night is The One
the ultimate 60's/70's vibe
Takes me back to jr high school dances, and getting asked to slow dance with my boy crush❤
How d doodie Biz! Love this song. So enchanting and deep. Always enjoy your videos 😊
Thanks for listening
This is a cover of the original from the rock musical ‘Hair’. Excellent rendition and a big hit for 3DN. You’ve already reacted to Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In, another Hair soundtrack cover. Go for a third with Oliver’s whimsical and beautiful Good Morning Starshine.
Like the song.Reaction is real and truthful!
Hey Biz!! I Love Three Dog Night.. Saw them or what's left of them a couple of months ago. I grew up with them. I don't think they put out a bad song. I'm not sure which ones you've already reacted to. I do love "Celebrate"... Any will do for me however...I say bring on some more BOWIE! hee hee
Spooner killing it on both channels.
Yo Matti I aint gettin' catti but here in my culture we nick name " Chewi" ala Star Wars to Matthews, soo happy to see & hear the younger Generation discover multi genre of Music that Changed the Pop' Culture therefore the WORLD, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! They put the civil in cival rights,Art is the enemy of COMMERCE & overcome.. just about ANYTHING!!!❤❤❤😊
BizMan shizz it deep, real and dope right?. heard this at 10/11 years old, @66 it still grooves hard, Chuck Negron doing the lead on this one with Cory Wells, Danny Hutton on backups . love your chan . subscribed my brother, peace 👊🏻✌🏻
Such a great band! Love all of their music! Thanks for being so diverse 🙂✌️
Hey Biz, OK you have done a reaction to Eli's Coming, the recorded version, now I challenge you to react to the live version from 1975. It has a totally different opening showing the "Pipes" of there 3 lead singers. Truly a great song. Thanks for your reactions.
First concert I ever went to. I was a sophomore in HS 1973. I was in love with them. Had my Cory Wells poster on my wall ❤
Seriously though they were a talented group with a string of great hits. Some of my Favs other favs: One, Eli’s Coming, Just an old Fashioned love song…many more!
Never Been To Spain was always my fave!
Their live at the forum album for me through my freshmen year at college!!!!
Probably my favorite 3DN song, up there with Eli's coming.
Great song from a show I got to see twice: HAIR...
Hey Biz, here is a great selection if you like the Three Dog Night sound.
At track call " When I Die" by Blood Sweat and Tears.
You're really deep man, glad I discovered you 👍🏾
I appreciate that
Seconding another comment... You should listen to the rendition by Cheryl Barnes from the movie version of 'Hair'.
Tom Waits - Till the Money Runs Out
Great reaction!
Off topic:
Do you love saxophone? Please give a listen to Lady Blue by Leon Russell
You need to do the version by Cheryl Barnes in the movie "Hair" 💔
Grim Reaper: Rock you to hell. Please.
Biz, you question things. I think you have a slice of the philosopher in you. Check out some general philosophy. Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" is a good start. Or, of course, there are the Greeks. Pick a philosophy that you like, but I would avoid political, since they embrace the emotional, instead of the logical side.
i love Nietzsche brilliant Philosopher
This band, gets labeled, too often as just an AM radio hit machine. Whatever the genre you put them in, they put out a lot of music over a time span that saw the formation and dissolution of many great bands and the songs still hold up pretty well compared to what’s being produced by todays music industry.
