Personally, I can't wait for the inevitable armored formation detachment and seeing a literal phalanyx of T11 bricks on the other side of the board. Also, it's worth noting that Hellhounds work well with Punishers. The point is annihilating chaff infantry that might not hurt you, but WOULD sieze the objective. I guess they're just niche until we get that tank detachment, since guard can just run chimera with infantry if they need to contest an objective.
Don't sleep on heavy bolters: sustained built in; detachment lethals; access to AP buffs, ignores cover, hit rerolls and flat 2 Damage volume at 36" does work w/out hazardous or blast limitations.
@@TacticalTortoisei like triple bolter in s tank heavy list. it really gives some volume to take our chaff and 5 man marine squads while the big guns focus heavies
Great video. I’d rate the el Classico leman russ battle tank in the top tier due to the full re-rolls on all its guns meaning the chance to spike lethals on the multi-melta or plasma cannon sponsons and even the stubber can put some extra wounds onto enemy vehicles and monsters. Also makes it less reliant on orders if needed and that’s an important insurance policy
It's pretty interesting how much more popular Tank Commanders are at top tables in Europe than they are at top tables in North America, definitely seems like the general difference of WTC vs GW terrain meaning that it's easier to get out of range of DBAO stateside whereas the shorter firing lanes of WTC means the TC demo cannon is more valuable Also American and Canadian top lists are significantly less homogeneous than our European counterparts
Nice video! In my opinion the best Russ is the demolisher. The firing into melee is a lot more useful than you’re give it credit and being squadron gives it access to some great buffs like extra AP and lethal hits. Also the Inspired Command strat is completely useless thanks to how orders work now. Things like tank commanders can issue their one order and that’s the only order they get for the battle round so to use inspired command you have to not issue an order in your command phase just so you could do it in your opponents turn.
Yeah it depends on how many vehicles you have in range at the time - once they start dying or moving away I find I've Solar or Grand Strategist orders floating, but you're right in that it is rare
The amount of anti-synergy in the entire Astra Militarum roster is insane, it feels like you are fighting with your rules almost as much as against your opponent.
Nooo! Eradicator is great! You can charge the enemy and still shoot next turn if they don't fall back. Really cheap way to get that profile and all the sponson guns Its no Exorcist but...
I'm looking at a list of 2 tank commanders, 2 krieg, 2 basilisks, 3 vanguishers, 3 rogal dorns. Don't know how well it will work out, but should be interesting.
Is it a rule or errata you can cite on that? Cause RAW Take Aim improves the BS without limitation, with the exception of no skill being able to be modified by less than 2+
In terms of the sponsons, whilst multi meltas might have the highest damage output, its worth bearing in mind that the heavy bolters can actually kill more models... Specifically space marines, multi meltas can kill 4 marines very well, but heavy bolter sponsons could max out at potentially killing 12 marines if all rolls were duccessful. Who dares wins and all that jazz
The stubber is clearly better, but not "strictly" better, because it gets an extra shot under 12" so there are circumstances where the storm bolter is a better. I don't think armies consisting entirely of Lone Ops are a real thing, but if you should encounter one, the storm bolters would be a better option. Maybe if you face nothing but Wolf Jail lists where you're effectively always within 12" of a target all the time...

Parking lot guard is best guard

Seems like it could be spicy on the LRBT - hit rerolls into Sustained gets kinda cool

As someone who has only been playing guard since the start of the year, this was really interesting. Thanks!
OK but I need this list for Brood Brothers. This is high demand content that will get you at least 23 views. Come on, help a brother out.

Tank commanders don't get lethals. Kinda lame
Indeed 😭
UNTIL NOWWWWW

"Eat your heart put space marines, everybody gets better autocannons than you"
*laughs in astraeus twin-accelerator autocannon*
There is one guy that plays Lord Solar, Bullgryn, and all tanks in our play group. It's easily my least favorite matchup
A legend indeed
@desgildanphi8825 I would disagree but hey you do you

I just played into 9+ leman russ's yesterday. Can confirm they are pretty tough to chew through!

@jago668 he had 3 tc's, 3 demolishers and 3 vanquishers. It was A LOT 😅
No way RLBT can hit on 2+ sadly. Best you can buff with Take Aim is to 3+.

Yeah I think I misspoke in that section; should be 3s w/ rr1s

Stubbers are *also* Rapid Fire
They get 6 shots out to 18" whereas SB get 4 out to 12"
The stubber is literally strictly better than the bolter
@@TacticalTortoise My mind is clearly still in 8e.
I guess I don't get nearly enough games in.
Tank commanders are funny to put hazardous weapons on
Do you own any Warhammer models?
How is your Russ hitting on 2s? +1BS puts it hitting on 3s, not 2s. And it's not Heavy
Should be 3s - I think I just misspoke

@@TacticalTortoise thanks mate appreciate it
Measuring to/from vanquisher cannon is ultra cringe, honestly. But good video overall.
I don't write the rules 🤷♂️
