For those looking to replicate the discarded shell casings look, but don't have (or want to use) styrene rods (or don't want to cut them out), you could use tiny cylindrical beads. I've bought loads of them before, in very "28mm shell casing" size and shape, from my local dollar store's hobby section. Various other stores, like generalist hobby shops or even Walmart also carry similar beads. (I even have a variety in my bead collection that is the bronze-like in appearance, that I use in terrain projects, as I don't need to paint them).
It looks great, has me pumped for the individual kit to be released. Now we just need rules that don't create the feelbadman moment when not taking sponsons on our Guard Russes on the table! Also curious how much conversion work would be needed to get the track guards to work this model.
I'm not normally one for vehicles, but its always fun to watch you sculpt. I do miss the painting segments from the past though- was great to see your process.
Amazing work as always dude! Although the choice of placement for the Heavy Stubber is a bit weird but certainly unique. Love all the handy storrage bits, sandbags and other details you added that really made the model pop off! Hope to see more vehicles or tanks in the near future!
I'm sure I am not the first one to think about a massive sisters cathedral on treads and would really be interested to see what kind of kit bash you could come up with. Dont have much spare parts myself to kit bash all these cool looking projekts but have been enthusiasticly watching your content instead. Thanks for all the content.
Great conversion. One thing I would have on is the scoop that comes with the tank. I can see it being used by the Krieg for trench digging and for clearing a way for troops to march on.
Something I like is that the side riveted trim just looks like bolted on panels. When not painted gold, it just looks like a cooler leman russ in my opinion I can see guard players picking this tank up as command tanks or using it as their entire leman russ force and it would fit in nicely.
I subscribed to your channel when I started playing bolt action. (They’re mothballed now). This was a nice throwback to those times. I have like 200 leman Russ and chimera tanks primed. Scared to paint them. Would love more tank videos
We need a Pete the Wargamer collab with an app/web designer that is a database of the weapons options each kit has. Like I need a heavy stubber for some chaos cultists and it would be so good to type "heavy stubber" in to a search bar and pull up all the kits that have one and see if I have any of those in my backlog or bits sprues.
honestly with the turret having 2 guns in such a narrow turret, there would be no room to avoid the breach from crushing you ever time the guns fire but it's krig so they would fkin love it lol.
This has been inspiring. I've already made a DKOK Leman Russ with a rather simple kit bash using the base Cadia pilot and attaching a spare Krieger torso. But it seems somewhat empty and bland. This video makes me want to go back to the half painted tank and add some extra details before finishing the paint job.
Would love to see this kind of approach to a non gw style tank from a historical range. Using the tank turn it into a uniquely flavoured guard regiment tank
@PeteTheWargamer Honestly one of the coolest series you could do is how to kitbash a krieg army. GW will not give us them even though there far better than cadians (imo) and a series where you show how to make krieg versions of the command squad, death riders, etc would be so cool.
With a new skaven range refresh on the horizon I hope your thinking about making a return to your 40k skaven army! Also excited for dead animal bits later this year.
I've got a kitbash idea. A very simply idea, but an idea nonetheless. It'd be awesome to see an Astra Militarum helicopter. What I'm thinking is a Sentinel base but with the legs removed and a big ol rotor on top of the area where the guy sits. You'd have to use an armored Sentinel for it to work, but i think it'd be awesome. The lore behind it would just be an Astra Militarum regiment that needed something to help gather intel and perform reconnaissance on the enemy, but since they've been fighting for so long, they don't really have anything, so they just kinda say "screw the Mechanicus" and build a one man helicopter
And here we have yet another great conversion thoe while watching the video a certain ghastly idea come to my mind as unlikely as it is lore wise i would love to see you do the kitbash of nurgle corrupted regiment from Death Korps of Krieg ....
It's odd but they're often listed as Veteran Guardsmen rather than Krieg: elementgames.co.uk/card-games-board-games-and-more/seasonal/starting-kill-team/kill-team-veteran-guardsman?d=10694
Great video Pete, as always. I plan to make my own - can you tell me which Guardsman from the Kill Team you used as commander? Thank you from a danish fan.
I love this! Such an amazing change to this tank and it adds so much making it Krieg themed! I wonder though, do the old Leman russ sponsons fit this new Leman russ? Or does it not work at all?
I recently lost interest in imperial guard. i saw the heresy era leman russes and didnt like them so assumed i was done. But this? This i like. Customisation and a good paint job it fits right into 40k. Good work
I really like the kitbash, however I was hoping you'd have included the dome filter that goes on top of the engine hatch as that is the main glaring part I see missing on this alpha pattern - even though it is on the Dracosan - so I could copy

I’m a simple man, I see DKOK content, I like it.
I am a simple man, I see DKoK content, I find my people. ❤
Oh, and I also liked (goes without saying)
Instant dislike
Bro is not ready to sacrifice his life for the krieg
This is gorgeous, well done. Its hilarious that you went for the autocannons as well!
Agreed

I’ve been very interested in seeing what the SA Leman Russ would look like without the brass trim painted like metal. Great video!
It looks great, has me pumped for the individual kit to be released. Now we just need rules that don't create the feelbadman moment when not taking sponsons on our Guard Russes on the table!

You add so much character and such a story to your builds. Well done Pete
glad you gotten the new Lemen Russ Tank my friend.
A top quality conversion with a great paint job.
Absolutely stunning dude! All the little bits and pouches really sells that WW1/2 look DKOK have
I picked up a couple of these Leman Russ for my (slowly) accumulating Kreigers 😊
Amazing work as always dude! Although the choice of placement for the Heavy Stubber is a bit weird but certainly unique. Love all the handy storrage bits, sandbags and other details you added that really made the model pop off! Hope to see more vehicles or tanks in the near future!

This exactly what i want for my Vostryan Firstborn
You NEED to do more imperial guard kitbashes, they’re amazing!!
Great conversion. One thing I would have on is the scoop that comes with the tank. I can see it being used by the Krieg for trench digging and for clearing a way for troops to march on.
Pete, you need to do more Death Korps of Krieg content on the channel! This is great!
As I have tried sculpting with green stuff myself I can really appreciate how incredible your sculpting is on this model! Looks awesome!
Thank you! The best advice I can give is to get some vaseline, a rubber tipped tool or two and just practice!

Absolutely loved this conversion. You could definitely make a couple more tanks.
Excellent work as always, I'm rarely excited for humans in fantasy and places with so many other races, but Death Korp are always cool to see
Been watching since way back and I have to say I think that this is one of the best pieces you've done IMO. It just looks fantastic.
Wow, thanks!
I'm glad czepeku is getting more recognition. They are so talented
Awesome! I can't wait to see all the cool stuff the community comes up with my using the Solar Auxillia kits.

Why did he stop including the painting in the videos ? I really enjoyed these parts
honestly with the turret having 2 guns in such a narrow turret, there would be no room to avoid the breach from crushing you ever time the guns fire but it's krig so they would fkin love it lol.
superb detail work! Especially love the map!
A very interesting and well done model! Thanks for sharing this.
Always the bomb, all the extra bits makes it look wicked.
Thank you really much! I planned on doing a DKOK tank and this video really helped
Love the sandbag technique!!
Oh yes! This was what I was dreaming about as soon as I saw all those new tanks.
3:51 Dammit Sir! That laspistol should be a sword for the memes!!
Amazing build as always love the paint job great video thanks for sharing 🍻👍
Legit made my day motivated me to crack on with some of my projects
tanks Pete
your work just consistency blows my mind.
Loving this!!!! Might have to pick this kit up when I can!!!
Hats off to the kitbashing.

This video makes me want to go back to the half painted tank and add some extra details before finishing the paint job.
It looks great! And not a lot of work to do either. I love the paintjob as well!
i wasn't the only one! i knew that leman russ would make a good krieg tank!!!
It is my main goal to build a plastic DK army so you've just found another RUclips subscriber from myself. 👍
Incredibly awesome job, my man. 👍🏻
Would love to see this kind of approach to a non gw style tank from a historical range. Using the tank turn it into a uniquely flavoured guard regiment tank
That ad was hilarious haha “Lair” 😂
Awesome video, the map is a genius idea !
Just like Night Shift, adding stowage really adds life to the tank
One of my fav conversions I love it
Even before watching the video Pete always gets a like because I know it's going to be good
Amaaaazing convertion, however, where in the thrones name is the painting segment,?! Look at that scheme! :O
Amazing as always Pete. Just a thought/suggestion for a look at a much underloved Imperial Guard Regiment: the Dieprian Mountain Men
I love the paintjob. Any chance we can see a tutorial?
YEAH WOOOOOOOO!!!!!! As a representative of the death Korp of Krieg, I approve this message:)
amazing sculpting skills!
This looks fantastic! I need to work out how to widen the tracks on it and where to make the cuts for an inset set of sponsons though
Excellent conversion! 👍

Has anyone mentioned that you sound like Tom Hiddleston? Enormously relaxing videos - thank you.
Loved the Chaos Dragon. Could you possibly continue the Fantasy kitbashes?
Yeah, the first thing I thought when I saw these new milicia vehicles was (oh boy, thos will look perfect in a DKoK army.
This is flipping mint mate!
Would love to see your take on a Bretonnian Duke on Hippogryph!
More kreigification please! Heavy weapon teams and/or sentinels would be much appreciated!
Love to see more dkok custom vehicles series.
Freaking sweeeeeeeet Pete! Great job again!
I’m excited for more demon space wolf kitbashes
If you get a chance drill ot the barrels of the maim guns, really makes a difference. Looks great though
Thanks a bunch! This shows the new LR to be everything I hoped it could be! Pls share the paint scheme!! Are they GW acrylics?

Really cohesive look.
Seeing a Krieg soldier sacrifice their legs to fit in the tank doesn't surprise me one bit.
Good looking tank buddy
I'm subscribed but your videos never show up and I have to look you up every time I wanna watch a video. Great content as always though
Dude I really love your videos
Thank you!
As an artist i don't enjoy the tutorials i enjoy your hard work
Where do you get plastic kreig models?
It's odd but they're often listed as Veteran Guardsmen rather than Krieg: elementgames.co.uk/card-games-board-games-and-more/seasonal/starting-kill-team/kill-team-veteran-guardsman?d=10694
Great video Pete, as always. I plan to make my own - can you tell me which Guardsman from the Kill Team you used as commander? Thank you from a danish fan.
Looks amazing!!! 🤩
A bit of a random thought about the Kill Team Salvation release but I really wanna see you update Sergeant Tellion using on those Scouts 🔥 🙏
I love this! Such an amazing change to this tank and it adds so much making it Krieg themed! I wonder though, do the old Leman russ sponsons fit this new Leman russ? Or does it not work at all?
Nice i like 40k tanks and artillery
Well done good sir.
I recently lost interest in imperial guard. i saw the heresy era leman russes and didnt like them so assumed i was done.
But this? This i like. Customisation and a good paint job it fits right into 40k. Good work
Am I the only one who expected to see a massive shovel on the front 😂

*In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement.*
I would like you to try and convert a krieg field ordnance battery
Nobody:
The mechanicus creating new units: so I made a straight cut just above the thigh here
Pete's the Conversion King!
3:30 watch like a real krieg field medic works.
Can do a video on the Space Marine Impulsor or Repulsor? How to make them more interesting.
wish i had access to all those bits.
looks great
It’s beautiful 😍
To me, its very cool that GW sent you a kit and you went "sugma ballz, kitbash."
Looks cool. 👍
