    My favourite Krieg Joke is:
    Krieg guardsmen in Tripptransport:
"Is it time to die for the emperor yet?"
"Is it time to die for the emperor yet?"
"Is it time to die for the emperor yet?"
    Driver:
"If you don't shut up I'm gonna turn this transport around and you are going to the backline!"
    Krieg Guardsmen: 😟

    • @kristofevarsson6903
      @kristofevarsson6903 Год назад +27

@@PurpleH4z3 Yes and no. Krieg has built a reputation on formally requesting that they be sent to the worst warzones the Imperium has to offer. The rank and file petition their officers who petition high command who petition the Administratum. Whether or not the Admin sends the Krieg regiments where they want to go is up to them alone, but Krieg has zero capacity for failure and having ready and willing volunteers for the worst battles means you have more flexibility with other regiments, so it's really in the Admins best interest to send Kriegers wherever they ask to go more often than it isn't.
_All_ of this is assuming there isn't any Imperial politicking that will interfere with the warzone, Krieg, or the Administratum. But this is 40K, so we know exactly how likely that is.

    1. The Administratum wasn't unwilling to help Col. Jurten, they couldn't because of circumstance and the fact that Krieg and its system were pretty much exhausted in the way of ressources.
    2. The maps to the Ancient AdMech Vaults containing the nukes and the Launch codes were probided to Col. Jurten by the Imperium.
    3. After the War, it was Krieg that contacted the Imperium, who completely forgot the planet and thaught it actually lost. The Imperium was surprised that the Planet even still existed.
    4. The VitaWomb(TM) tech (kinda an artificial womb, but more grimdark) was petitioned to hive to Krieg by the Adeptus Munitorum itself out of fear that the Krieger would exhaust their Manpower too early because of their sheer zeal to die for the Emperor.
    5. Altough it is a running joke that a krieger will happily run into machinegun fire through no-mans land, they don't do this without a reason to do so. Even they know that throwing away their life without purpose is the same as betraying the Imperium.

The first was give Jurten and his men a final standing order to reclaim Krieg for the Imperium, and damn the costs. If they needed to destroy the entire planet to keep it in Imperial hands, they would do so.
The second thing they did was send Colonel Jurten the launch codes for the massive cache of nuclear weapons underneath the hive city he had claimed.
All essentials were secured in fallout bunker complexes underneath the hive, as the secessionists started bashing down the doors just in time to be caught out in a nuclear firestorm without their lead umbrellas, roughly evening the odds between the secessionists and the loyalists and ensuring that the centuries-long civil war on Krieg would be some of the most brutal trench warfare in recorded history.

Over the last two or three years, The Sisters Of Battle relaunch was fantastic, the new Necrons are excellent the new Adeptus Mechanicus units are great, as are the Chaos Space Marines.
Now we're just waiting for Death Corps of Krieg in plastic, all of the other missing regiments, including refreshs for Cadians and Catachans, squats, Traitor Guard, Eldar aspect warriors, new Harlequins units, new Ork Boyz, a Tyranids refresh, Dark Mechanicus, an Agents Of The Imperium Codex, expanded Sisters Of Silence and a Talons Of The Emperor Codex.......

If you are interested in a book that will really help put you in the shoes of a guardsman, go get yourself a copy of 'To Hell And Back' by Audie Murphy. Murphy was the star of the 1951 film version of The Red Badge of Courage, but before that he was basically the most decorated soldier in World War 2. He was awarded the Medal of Honor from the US, France, and Belgium, along with a huge list of other medals. He wrote 'To Hell And Back' about his experiences serving on the front, and even though it is about a real war it is written so well that the setting planet doesn't even matter because it's an exploration of emotion and turmoil. I highly recommend it.

I really want to believe that GW are going to introduce Krieg properly in the 9th Ed Codex, hell they're probably big enough/unique enough to get their own Supplement....imagine that...
But Sadly I don't think they will because GW don't like giving us nice things. Instead we're given bucket-loads of Primaris models... XD
