Emphasizing basic lasweapons for the cavalry was a *great* choice. The Combat Engineers being equipped with autopistols also carry intriguing lore implications (what could be the tactical/logistical considerations?) This is causing me a little bit of a dilemma. I've had a rocky time of 40K ever since I got back into it about 10 years ago. I'll try to keep this short. I have started many armies and not finished a single one. Cadians, Necrons, Blood Ravens, Imperial Fists, Eldar, Leagues of Votann and Tau to be specific. But What I really want is to pick a faction. To just remain loyal to one army. To have one army I can build over the next 10 years, unlike the past 10 years where I have played with bits and pieces, but never amassed any sort of army of worth. And whilst I should pick one of the armies I already have, I kind of want to pick Krieg. It's an army that I have wanted to collect ever since I first saw them as a kid. But it's also the army which I have the 1 kill team box and that is all. If I pick Krieg, I am starting a new army from scratch. And I have very limited funds at the moment, I cannot afford to start an army from scratch, especially not a horde army like Imperial Guard. Especially when I already have an Imperial Guard army in the way of my Cadians. It makes infinitely more sense to pick the army I have most of, which would be Imperial Fists, or the one which I have most completed which is Necrons. Or the ones I have done the best paint job on (Eldar) and commit to one of those armies. But my inner kid is saying, I need Krieg. And I guess maybe, whilst I can commit to Krieg with all future purchases, my Cadians can still be used as part of a larger Imperial Guard army. I'm torn.

I feel like GW hit a turning point this fall. Yes, they do plan and design things years in advance, but the shift in teasers strategy and what they showed off feels promising. Hating on GW is almost part of the hobby, but I do really want them to have success. They had Coteaz, Agents and BA, and those releases where… Not the most well recieved. Then we get a break, followed by this preview, showing off 10/10 ranges. Sure hope this is what the future looks like, GW showed us they really can deliver exiting new stuff in volumes.
When you think about how long people wait for refreshes or armies and how many times it's good but not great, totally fine but not right there... you have to hand it to them they are NAILING the DKK. I can't think of any sub-faction or aesthetic or army from GW that are so unanimously liked the way DKK are and these are bang on.
The horse has prosthethics, which implies that it was horribly injured and then operated on before getting nurtured back to health, which means horses in 40k are treated better than horses irl. That's fun.
I think they are good but I'd not go perfect. I love the big and medium guns, love the troops. However, I'm not sure on the "horses". A couple of the stances are off for me and the leader's mount is just too chunky. Ordinary trooper get lithe, elegantly weird "horses", where as the commander gets a shire horse? I'm not keen on it at all. It might be better to put him on a standard mount??
As much as I can't bear the Kriegs fan, I'm happy for them. Thoses plastic krieg are like 4 years late. It's fucking incredible GW thought it was a better idea to remake all the cadian than produce a proper Krieg plastic like after introducing them... but at least did the krieg got a proper plastic collection now. Now if they could do the same for the Elysian, the Mordian, the Praetorian, Vosroyan and the Valhalan, that would be neat.
Time to save me pennies I've been waiting for this since killteam and now it's happening gonna try and get two of each of the main units and one of the command squad and marshal

I’m hoping we get a rerelease of the infantry squad box and like 15 or somthing for 60 bucks. But that’s wishful thinking. Also wish krieg can take the Horus heresy tanks, like the malcador, Overall I’m super happy and definitely picking up a new army
The medic instantly gave me Plague Doctor vibes.
I don’t want a new army, but damn, GW have really forced my hand! 😅
That's fun.
The horses remind me of Hrulgrin from the Belgariad, carnivore horse like monsters
Praying the horses are a lot of points
I think they are good but I'd not go perfect. I love the big and medium guns, love the troops. However, I'm not sure on the "horses". A couple of the stances are off for me and the leader's mount is just too chunky. Ordinary trooper get lithe, elegantly weird "horses", where as the commander gets a shire horse? I'm not keen on it at all. It might be better to put him on a standard mount??
Btw that not really a medic, it's apparently an Alchemist, chemical warfare specialist
Praying they don’t, I don’t have enough money for this
Time to save me pennies I've been waiting for this since killteam and now it's happening gonna try and get two of each of the main units and one of the command squad and marshal
I hate the new engineer shotguns, they look infinitely worse than the FW version. Also, shovels are an overused meme, not something the Death Korps actually frequently use in melee.
The rest of the releases are mostly great, though.
Glad people are having fun and I guess there are more kitbash options but no interest in kreig themselves the shovel memes got old 4 years ago 😅
The plastic crack is strong today. XD
One of the heavy support crew has a shovel propped up on their gun's bracing strut, for those who desperately need shovels to be involved with Krieg
Why no infantry platoon?!
They already have one. Veteran guardsmen kit.
"New" Astra Militarum Combat Patrol blows chunks though
Mane was the correct term for the horse mohawk.
I'm not liking the mine much yet, I was hoping it would be the little tracked tank thingy (Goliath?) 😢
It's called a mane, also the chicken feet don't add any extra height, horses are just built like that
I dislike the weird alien horse feet, other than that - spot on!
Saturday? I thought it was friday for both sides of the pond
The mauser pistol make em look so sick, and what are those revoler guns? Are they grenade launchers?
Don’t get me wrong, the Krieg reveal was sensational, BUT the one unit I wanted to see, we didn’t get, so the hope is that they come in Kill Team or a second wave.
PLEEEEEEEEASE GIVE US GRENADIERS
Love these amazing new genestealer cult models
Tiny Legend, rightfully so, are about to see a huge spike in their profits. Too bad the engineers and grenadiers look to be rolled into one unit now.
NGL these don't look quite as good as some 3D prints I've seen. Stoked for a new arty piece though
