Read Write Head Sliders Stuck Between Platters of Seagate Laptop Drive

Here you can see the detached read/write head sliders which became stuck to the platters and were subsequently ripped off. This will be a very difficult recovery case to handle.
Update: Drive was recovered and over 99% of files were in tact. Only a few were corrupted from the bad sectors caused by the stuck sliders.

The sliders were safely removed from between the platters and 99.9% of the data was fully recovered by Data Medics (www.data-medics.com)

Haven't done it yet. Just got the approval yesterday, so still am trying to figure out the best method. I'm ordering a donor, so I want to test how sensitive this model is to rotational misalignment on it first.

+Data Medics have you played with rotational alignment in any drive with two platters before . Also i say you can use a tweezer and your usb camera with sturdy hands to lift the sliders off

This is an easy fix, just get some 1-2lb monofilament line and slide it past them and pull both ends towards you until it hooks them and pops them off. I have done it many times.

This case was fully recovered long ago. I used an ESD safe clean room swab to detach the stuck sliders. Worked like a charm. Only had a few bad sectors.

AtomAdhesives Epoxy To a trained eye you can see there are read write head sliders on the left side stuck to the inside platter surfaces. Not a "copied" video.
