    Nice tutorial! I just picked up a PC3000 Express. Now comes the fun part,...trying to figure out how to use it. ;-) It's an impressive tool but with so many features and abilities it's not exactly easy to figure out. These walk throughs are very helpful.

    Great tutorial. I don't have a PC3000 but do have the MRT Ultra which I know is a much less sophisticated tool but does have a lot of the features you demonstrate here..

    Hey Jarred, thanks for the great run through. Very well done. How often do you get 'raw recoveries' with PC3k ? If a drive is quick formatted do you lose the structure of the folders irrespective of recovery of data? Or is there a backed up copy of the hierarchy?

    • @DatamedicsRecovery
      @DatamedicsRecovery  6 лет назад

      trumanhw I don't often use PC-3000 and Data Extractor for logical recovery operations, although it does have functions for that. Whether or not the folder hierarchy can be rebuilt really has more to do with what originally happened. NTFS stores file system structures all over the drive so it can often be rebuilt. Other file systems such as HFS+ store that all in a single catalog file. So just a quick format will nuke all hope of getting back hierarchy in most cases.

    For example, there is a hard drive that clicks and does not boot. Is it possible to fix this hard one only through the PC-3000 board and extract data without Data Extractor by other programs?

    • @DatamedicsRecovery
      @DatamedicsRecovery  3 года назад +1

      Most often in a case like that you will ultimate need to replace the heads in a clean room. Sometimes it is possible with PC-3000 to disable just the failed head(s) and still read data from the good heads. It just depends on the case.

      @@DatamedicsRecovery It turns out that "Dara Extractor" is optional to buy with the board? Data Extractor is very expensive. Can I only buy a board?

    • @DatamedicsRecovery
      @DatamedicsRecovery  3 года назад +1

      @@Anton_Zh You can, but if you are serious about recovering data you will need the Data Extractor software too. Without it you'd mostly be limited to refurbishing drives and you'd still need to invest in a hardware imaging tool for cloning. There are a lot of features if PC-3000 that work in tandem with DE software

    Where did you download the program?

    • @DatamedicsRecovery
      @DatamedicsRecovery  5 лет назад

      It's not just a program you can download. It's a hardware / software combo system that costs about $6,000 for the base version.

    what best software to recovery data in the formated hdd ???

    • @DatamedicsRecovery
      @DatamedicsRecovery  8 лет назад +1

      It really depends on the original file system. For Windows NTFS or FAT I'd probably go with R-Studio (www.data-medics.com/product/r-studio-demo/).
      If it's Macintosh HFS+ though, you'd be better off with either UFSExplorer or Data Rescue 4 (www.data-medics.com/product/data-rescue-4-demo/)

    Thank you great video. Anyone know the prices of the UDMA with data ex in canada?

    • @DatamedicsRecovery
      @DatamedicsRecovery  6 лет назад

      The last time I got a quote to buy a new system, the price for the 2 channel version was $6815 US dollars (they base their prices in USD). Though I wouldn't be surprised if the price is higher now as they've added a lot of new features. Plus, you'll need to keep in mind the $1500/yr update and support cost.

      First of all thank you for answering.
      Wow I was not aware of yearly cost. For the prices I'm charging and amount of cases that I have doesn't worth it.
      They are providing special data recovery training in Toronto the cost almost 5000 for 4 days. I'm electronic technician wondering if it worth it. how much info you can learn in 4 days?

    • @DatamedicsRecovery

      I've never taken Ace's training, so I can't say how good it is. But, in my experience, learning data recovery is something better measured in years/decades rather than days or weeks.

      PC-3000 is definitely a pro tool, and not for anyone who's doing casual data recovery. But, if you're going to get serious about it, then this is a must have system.

      It's not something you can just download, it requires the actual PC-3000 hardware. It's a system that costs around $8,000.
