I have both Trucks and the Gen 8 goes everywhere the TRX4 goes. As for that skid plate hump on the Gen 8 center skid, it has been no problem on the Rocks or anywhere else.
I’ve got stuck a couple times. Nothing to really cry about.
😁👍 I found this also with mine that the bottom with the hump sticking down does get the gen 8 hung up some times. Love the way you changed your orange body it looks awesome! I just spray the receiver with a blast of corrosionX spray then you can go under water. Good stuff.

There is a company called Bowhouse RC Who is developing a new skid plate so keep your eyes and ears open because it’s in development right now according to my inside sources.
@@triplexrcgarage1499 That's cool I was going to just mod mine seems very simple to do.
More i look at it, the more i think risers/spacers could be used for the transfer case and cut the skid plat bump out and cover it to smooth it out . .

Redcat beats trx4 in almost every avenue.
I see you did the old balloon trick. I actually do that with my batteries as well. Nice video, good comparison between the two leading trail truck designs. I love my Trx4 Bronco, but I'm ordering a Gen 8 chassis with wheel wells on Ebay for $169 today. Lacks the locking diffs and two speed tranny, but I think it will make a nice Jeep 4door hard body addition to my collection. Some question the need for a locking diff, but once you actually use one, the benefits become apperant. I do recommend changing the locking order to rear first, then front, through the menu options. With even just the front diff open, the turning radius is lowered significantly on the Trx4. Also its nice to slap it into high gear, and bash around from time to time as well. Nice video, and thanks for sealing the deal on my decision on adding the Gen 8 to my scale garage.

I almost bought a TRX4 but I found the HGP 411. Same features as the TRX4, but has a hard body and opening doors ,full interior, opening hood when I done a side-by-side comparison it was a no-brainer. So I bought the p411. Be very interesting to see a side by side comparison, and a TRX4 versus the HGP 411, just to see which one comes out on top,no doubt that the p411 is heavier but I believe every bit if not more capable.
A condom will work too for the receiver box, just make sure not to buy "lubricated" ones :> I've been saving to buy a Gen8. The one thing that bothers me about it is the black windows, and that a clear body when they release it is going to cost another $55.
The best comparison ive seen like the black wheels and punisher logo already made it your own very nice brother

they are both nice. the trx4 is tried and true and been doing it a long time. but for someone like me the gen8 is very appealing being 300 dollars. i know you can get the trx4 sport for a similar price but its got nothing on the gen8's looks as far as for what im looking at. that bronco is beautiful but probably double the price. id love to have one and hopefully one day i will but i am actually gonna be buying a gen8 in a couple weeks because its the best all around crawler ive seen lately for that price range that i can afford. thanks for sharing sir. im a new subscriber to your channel
I do love both but yes you are right the Gen8 is a great looking rig and I love the performance and the price. Yeah like all the others you will need to change out the servo and the tire foam if you’re going to use the tires. I also changed out my ESC to a 1080 HOBBYWING just because I like them and I can program with the program box it comes with. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Most 12.3” bodies will fit on the TRX4 Sport. I have the 85 Toyota Hilux body with a Proline half back cage on the back. Looks fantastic!! But you’re correct as far as the sports stock body goes. It’s ugly as sin lol
So true, but i just like the Bronco more. I don't like that Gen8 Body +color! I kick some coins on top, and buy the Bronco Monday😎 Out of the Box Bronco offer more.

I'm a rock crawler myself I have a modded Mad Torque into a 1/6 Hummer H2 but I like the way these trails trucks do REALLY like the color of the gen 8 ya got there😎👍👍

Nice video. You didn’t appear to be as hung up on that jagged rock as you claimed. You kind of drove over it and stopped. From what I see in this video, the Redcat is actually going through things better than the TRX-4!

Hey Anthony, that was a perfect comparison since the bronco and the scout were real life competitors. I had both real trucks back in the day. The bronco was heavier but more power. The scout had lower gears and some awesome torque. The rc versions, well you have both so other than the skid plate on the gen8, what do you think? Great video, thanks.

just wondering why you ballooned the receiver? I heard that its the same one in the Gen7 and its not necessary, except in extreme cases, to add protection to the Gen7.
Locking the diffs and low gear for the Bronco was a smart idea for trying to keep apples to apples comparison. Scout still looks a bit bigger though. Guess I will find out for sure in about another 5 days.
I already fried my GEN 7 receiver getting it wet. So I was not taking any chances since I like to submarine my RC‘s LOL
@@triplexrcgarage1499 water resistant.. so submarine chasing does require the protection. Its just something I had been wondering about since a couple in my group have gone in mid window height and didn't have a problem with the Gen7. But it wasn't for more than 10 seconds.
Yea it’s not bad to do I use conformal coating for the water proofing myself
We run em in Red October mode as well and haven't fried a Gen 7 or E-10 receiver. Doesn't mean it's not possible though. They use the Flysky RX/TX system and the receiver is a basically an FS-FR2E. Nice vid!

Thanks for watching. The tires and wheels are at the time of the video are the only changes oh and the winch and of course the decals on the GEN8. Now the TRX4 BRONCO did have a new body with roof rack bumpers tires and wheels and steering servo. Yes not stock lol but the Gen8 did a awesome job I think.

I just picked one up and so far it has out performed wate i was expecting. The stock servo little weak but all in all i am loveing it. The wife's happy i didnt get the trx-r bronco @ $450.00.

Is the blazer any better than the bronco?
The Blazer and the Bronco are identical, just have different bodies. Both are 312 mm (12.3 inch) wheelbase with the exact same electronics. Get whichever one you would like as far as the body goes, because aside from that, there isn't a difference. Well, except for the price ATM because it's a new product. The Bronco is $459.99 and the Blazer is $499.99. That price will come down though. Just a new product, no matter what it is will always have the upped up cost.

Oh cool I live in Monroe. I didn't know if there was more than one location. I just started getting into crawlers. I have a rgt rock cruiser so far. But I've been thinking about getting a Redcat Gen 7 or Gen 8.

The comparison is the drivetrain and a top-heavy body I did not use the servo switches to change gears I left it in low and first gear And the diff’s locked for a reason the sport is no comparison it’s lightweight not top-heavy and does not have inner fender wells. @@triplexrcgarage1499 i know you did but if you watch the stock videos it shows them going in the water and then some guy took apart the receiver and you can see that the receiver is coated with a protectant.

the steering angle is nowhere close to that of the trx4, the gen 8 costs way too much to be a redcat imo. seems like there are some reputable people out there who don't say exactly why they don't like redcat prob bc of slander. so I tend to think I'll stay away from redcat but that's mainly based on the cheap crawler they first offered with the motor on axle that strips the plastic gears... it did look like it crawled well but has like 2mph wheel speed so that won't bail you out ever. getting off topic.... ha, later. good video
Yeah there cheap crawler where junk however then GEN8 is awesome.
Well if you've owned a trx4 sport you would know that when you fully turn the wheels and hit the throttle it jumps and skips and feels like it's ripping the front portals and shafts apart. I had to use a different transmitter on my sport and turn the steering down until it stopped chattering and skipping, the steering angle looks cool when showing it side by side turning withe the redcat, the real test is turn the wheels all the way and hit the throttle and show us it's not skipping.
