Hi, I use a dual laptop setup to stream. I have this capture card however there's no audio from the game or from my mic (SteelSeries Arctis 5). Any advice you can share is highly appreciated. Thanks and more power.

This is a first. Haha, thank you for making me laugh this morning. I've been playing this new game called Rogue Company and people say in look like the character "Gl1tch".

Something to note is that if you're using it for a camera, it can do 720p at 60FPS. For a smaller window, like a small corner face cam, you can get some sweet 60FPS goodness.
I bought this thing on a whim on Amazon to hook up my daughter onto twitch, I love it the setup was pretty dang easy with a RUclips tutorial. The only drawback is you really do need an HDMI splitter. I went ahead and bought one with four plugs, partially because it was the only one there and also I have so many devices and sick of having to unplug the ones in the back and have to plug in the new one.
I picked up an HDMI splitter but I can't seem to get sound to OBS now...I was able to get sound without the splitter so I'm not sure what's happened any suggestions?
Replying for anyone else who has thing issue. I closed down OBS unplugged the capture card, plugged back in and turned OBS back on...works...so ya there we go lol
Its great for sure. I was skeptical until I had it. For the price, this thing is killer considering what i paid back in the day for a capture card similar to this.
I get it. There're about 5% of people that are affected by the camera. I think it's due to all the cuts in the video, but it's hard to pin point why a few people get motion sickness. Thanks for watching regardless dude!
Been using this device for console streaming. It worked so well, I ordered 4 more so I can connect multiple consoles for streaming with my teenage boys. I got it for 8 dollars on eBay.
@@Activater right, let's be real, I'm not the next Doc or Ninja. I just got 5 capture devices for half the price of a used Elgato card. The kicker in my opinion is this, most people watch on their phones and you only need 720p @ 60 to look good on the small screen.
I stream Xbox, and didn't have an issue picking up audio. I use this capture device, Ubuntu Linux, and OBS. It was pretty much plug and play. Not sure if maybe it's a Windows issue. Here is a troubleshooting guide you can try to get HDMI capture going if you have issues with it in the link below. Another thing to remember first though, we are buying unbranded $10 capture devices. I would suggest the USB extension. I've heard issues with it directly plugged in, but also, the extension would save you from potentially breaking it while its sticking out of your pc.
Thanks for this, I struggled through some retro games with all the input lag and thought I had just lost the skills for them lol Grabbed the hdmi splitter you recommended, can't wait to try it out
It makes a huge difference. I played in the TV back in the day that had a slow response time. I couldn't figure out why i all of a sudden sucked. That delay is a killer for fps games. Once I switch to a low latency screen, I was golden again.
I used this capture card to record Final Fantasy 10 on the PS2 console with a acv to hdmi converter and I was pissed that it was good enough to get some in game cutscene down better than in-game movements. I'm gonna play with OBS settings more to see if I can record with the CC(Capture Card) smoothly next time .
im from the phillipines sir do you have a video with the splitter and how to connenct it? my camera is delay too i want to see if it is true that not delay with the splitter thank you sir!
I've just bought the same two devices but for a different reason, to upload recordings from my Sky box to my PC. HDMI through the dongle then hopefully the splitter will defeat the HDCP. Are you cold there? Just wondered why you're wearing a shirt, hoodie, waistcoat. cap with the hood up over the top all while sat inside?
You don’t need to buy a video capture for hdmi. I connected my Canon 5D Mark III to my 2020 iMac with a USB cable that comes with the camera and with free open source software, Camera Live and Camtwist, and then I use free OBS. Works like a charm-all free.
Yes, this. 100%. However, not all cameras have this and a capture card can also capture a game console, another pc, or anything else with an HDMI source. Also, not this particular device, but the capture software will allow for a max of 30fps if that matters to you. :)
Audio for your mic or the game audio? For mic, you could always add a delay as a filter for the audio source that is too early compared to your video or a video delay if your audio is too late. For game: it should be in sync with the video, if not, try above.
There are delays and audio issues. But there are fixes for the audio so the only remaining issue is the delays. It is especially bothersome on games which requires swift movement.
Yeah, this card is pretty rough for people that want to game from their OBS program. A splitter sending the hdmi video to your monitor is the way to go for raw instant gameplay
@@swissgamerzchannel2035 Any suggestions what to play around with? I recorded myself playing. The recording is good just playing through obs has very slight gameplay delay(which I dont mind) audio was a little more(1/2 second - 1 second delay)
@@Mace604 It also depends if you have applications open like youtube or a browser. And if the console is playing a game at 60 fps. Otherwise, it might be your rig or the capture card which could have an issue.
I'm so confused how the camera is so damn crisp. Mine in OBS is unbelievably grainy but when recording on the camera itself it looks great. Using the a5100 for reference.
It's most likely your ISO on the camera being too high. Do a test, where it currently is for your OBS setup, just hit record on your camera itself. Once you record a few seconds, take the camera outside and adjust the settings (ISO first, then shutter speed) so you can see outside and record again. Take those files and put them into your OBS as media sources and just look at them. Most likely the outside will look good. The key is to get the lowest possible number on your ISO as well as your F-Stop of your lens. Then you want to keep your shutter speed at about 1/50 or 1=/30. If you can't see after setting the settings, you gotta increase the light in your space.
Analytics shows that 20% of my suggested traffic about this same device is coming from this video, so I had to come take a look. Agree that this is great bang for the buck. Yes it has some delay, but like you said, a splitter will help. Nice review! Liked and subscribed!
Do you absolutely need an external power source on the HDMI splitter? Or does it work just fine without it? I was looking at a couple that don't actually have a slot for them like yours had a microUSB one. Just one HDMI slot on one end and two on the other.
Like, take the signal from the capture card and send it out of your graphics card? Technically you could do this, but it would still have the delay effects as you have in OBS. basically, you'd need to plug that HDMI cable from the GPU to a tv or monitor so that your pc would recognize it. Then with OBS, you would right click the main preview, then select "full screen projector preview, then select that tv or monitor. it will send whatever is on your obs to your TV/monitor. However, you could also right click on ANY source and project that to the tv/monitor by itself. Just need to make sure you right click on the source itself rather than the main obs preview monitor. Hope this helps!
I’ve been happy with this for the cost. I picked mine up for under $11 on eBay when I did my video review on it. When you weigh the cost versus what it does this thing is unmatched. It’s an awesome way to get people with little funds away into streaming or even RUclips recording. What are you using to make your cam go back and forth like that?
Hey dude, appreciate you watching! I ended up making a video on the moving camera thing here: ruclips.net/video/vbMqICGA-sw/видео.html I'll end up making a real in-depth video soon as when i made that video, I was more skeptical on getting it out there to everyone.
Lol I just bought this exact thing the other day, I think I was the one to point it out in chat. Works well with my G7 for streaming an vlogs + other stuff. Love it. CHEAP
Hey I also have Panasonic camera, but the source doesn't show up in OBS when I add "video capture device" (It does in window's device manager). My HDMI output settings in camera are set correctly.. Did you have to change anything to get it to work?
Hey, sincere apologies for getting back to you later than your job needed. However, I dont think I've seen your issue. Do you haveba second pc to test on? Or mac?
Thanks man. On one side I have a Volcom stone symbol. (I've been a skateboarder for like 20 years) On the other side, a tattoo similar to Ellie from the last of us part 2 game. Its different, but the same idea.
Depends on thee source and capture card. Your not really replacing hdmi for usb. The USB is there so you can capture it to a PC. Some cards are basically 1 for 1 with quality coming from the hdmi. Hdmi out of a device will be its best quality if thats what it offers.
Hey man, so I was thinking about buying one of these. I want to dual PC stream on a budget because I already have 2 pc's. So would you recommend it for capturing signal from my Main PC and using an other output from my GPU for my monitor (display port). Already have the audio figured out with voicemeeter and was debating on this.
100% you should test it! I think you have a solid mindset on this. Give it a try! If you dont want to spend money, look into NDI. That'll transmit the signal over your ethernet cables.
Ah.. I got one a few days ago and it worked a charm for my streams then suddenly it just kept showing as a black screen. Funny thing is my pc recognises that it's connected but I'm trying to figure out whether its the capture card failing on me or something magically changed after I streamed. My settings haven't changed though so it's kinda odd, any suggestions?
I've started to hear this about the device. I use it with a little USB cable extension rather than directly plugged in. Have you by chance has it connected directly to a usb port on your pc or were you using an extension cable like me?
Try that, but it may have overheated to the point where it potentially broke. I've been hearing this more and more. Good thing it's a cheap device. HOWEVER, I have mine on a usb cable and it works like a charm and hasn't faulted. Hopefully the cable will help!
Crazy. You may be the first person to ever comment this on any of my videos. Not a bad thing. Just hard to understand when the focus draws your eye where to look making it less distracting, no? I feel like if everything was in focus, your eyes would wander to what is in the background. I respect your opinion though. Just never heard it before.
I'm using the same cheapo HDMI capture. I connected the laptop to PC monitor and the video is pinkish / purple now. It was good the last time I used it connected laptop to smart TV. Do you know what could be the issue here? I've tried 2 HDMI cables and still the same.
Try a different port on the laptop? Try a USB extension cable? Lastly, test plugging your device into a TV or something just to make sure its still working properly
Hey can you help me I'm trying to find out how to set up one of those capture cards and the HDMI splitter to live stream and record videos with my Android phone which is an Alcatel 3 to PC. Can you tell me if that's possible? And how? I don't know if you can explain and if it would be easier through Instagram (PhaeOfficial). Please and thank you
Hey Phae, connecting your phone isn't always super easy. If your device has a cable that can send out an HDMI signal, then it's EZ PZ where you just connect that cable to your phone and then to the capture card/splitter to send the signal to your PC. However, if there isn't a cable that supports that for your device, you'll need to either put an android emulator on your PC and play there or send your phones image to your PC via usb or wirelessly with an screen mirroring application. Ill try to find a good app, but check this article in the meantime to find something that could work: fossbytes.com/android-screen-mirroring-apps-pc/amp/
I know you said that you could use it on an Xbox but how because if you plug your hdmi cable into your capture card you wouldn’t be able to use the monitor as nothing would be on right
This is where that splitter comes in. 2 options: 1.) get an hdmi splitter to send the hdmi to another tv or monitor 2.) play off of your OBS screen. (right click on preview screen and select "fullscreen preview" then the monitor you want to preview on) However, this method introduces a little delay to the gameplay from what you do with your controller. Like a half second.
Jump cuts are useful because they aren't very noticable. The jump cuts being so noticable is part of why the show =3 didn't age very well. This automatic dolly thing you've got set up is a class case of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should", because it doesn't work with jump cuts at all. Thanks for showing off this little gem, though. I might buy a few. :D
Thanks Ralph. Maybe someday man! I only started around the end of 2018 and then didn't really do anything until a few months ago again. I think more time spent making videos will help! :D Thanks for watching man!
Most generic capture cards like this one are powered by the MS2109 chip. However, there are a few capture cards that use the MS2130 chip which is an improvement over the MS2109 variant. Not only can it do 60fps at 1080p, but it supports the YUY2 video format and stereo sound. No more having to rely on downscaling to 720p just to record 60fps footage. Nice review by the way.
Oh awesome to hear they've updated! Are they about the same price still? I'll do some checking on my own, but I can imagine the price reflecting the newer MS2130 chip. 🤔
Thanks for the video! I actually use two of these capture cards. One I use for my XBOX to pc with an hdmi splitter for my gaming monitor and another one for my Sony a6000. I use SLOBS and everything works great for my streams. I bought each for cheap but I encourage folks to use your link for their purchases. I also have my settings for 1080p 60fps for both captures but reduce it on stream to 720p 60fps cause my pc is slow lol. I’ve been using for about over a month and everything is working well!
Hey, much love Iron. Appreciate you pushing to get people to support. Really glad to get all the information I have out there to people like you. It's hard when so many people hold onto this information. I just want to help other creators out. :D
Im trying to setup my stream so I can run my Sony a6000 as well! Its great to hear that it actually works. I am waiting for the Capture card to ship. My question is, do I also need the splitter if I plan to stream from my PC? I'm kinda confused on what the splitter exactly does. The end goal is to use my a6000 as a webcam and then stream my games from my PC! Thank you in advance for any help!
Bryan Agahan I use a splitter because I run my gaming on an Xbox. So for me to have as little video latency as possible for my games I split the hdmi signal to my monitor for gaming and to the capture card for the pc to be captured in SLOBS. I’m f you’re all PC based you won’t need a splitter
I used the hdmi splitter on the Gaming Solutions section, and like, I did it but the monitor only shows my console. I have the output 1 go into my capture card and the into my pc
Wait, how is it connected to your PC if one end is ready in the capture card? The splitter takes the incoming signal. You split that. One goes to your PC using the capture card. The other goes directly to your monitor.
If you're running HDMI from your pc to your monitor, you'd have to unplug the pc and plug in the split hdmi from your console You could also get an hdmi switcher so you wouldn't have to do that manually. I personally use display port from my Pc to my monitor to game on. Then, when I play console, I swap my monitor to the hdmi input which is from the splitter connected to my console/capture card. I also use 2 monitors so I can control obs on the second monitor if needed.
The splitter makes it so you're plugging directly into a monitor or TV for zero delay while the splitter is also sending the signal to the capture card. Playing off of the capture card on your PC will have a slight delay.
Its certainly fine for playing single player games. I played the last of us 1 on ps4 and it wasn't that bad at all. Hardly noticeable. However, with pvp shooters, you feel the delay.
@@Activater Just wanted to thank you again, I had to use a capture card to play a japanese game with a "spreadsheet", i already beat it and i saved a lot of money thanks to you
Plugging into a phone with this doesnt seem to work. However plugging your phone while its connected to a PC supposedly does. (If you're trying to capture your phones image on your PC)
The capture card with the loop-through is basically the same as the main device I show here with an added option to send the HDMI signal elsewhere ontop of sending the signal to your PC. So, yes, you are correct.
My main facecam is a Sony a7s using an Avermedia Extremecap U3. The second testing cam is a Lumix G7. I also tested the cam on my other capture card and it had a delay for some reason. A fault of the camera mostly. However, the delay off of this USB capture card is not instant. I wouldn't recommend playing shooters like Call of Duty on it unless you split the connection to another tv/monitor to actually game on.
Got this the other day and I have to say for the pricepoint this is unbeatable. For those still running an old ass laptop like myself I use it as an input with zoom with great success for recording.
@@Activater yeah man especially since Im always on the go Ive had to adapt and cant always have the option of connecting a TV. Either way great video brother new subscriber here.
I have the one with loop version and I gotta say it is recommended for those who want to stream their console games. if you can afford elgato/camlink maybe that’s the one you’re looking. but let say you’re new and you’re on a budget, you dont want to spend that much money just like me, well this could be the solution.
how to setup the mic? I have one in my game pc and the capture cad don't capture it. only the audio from the game. also can't use mic on my streaming pc. it is a crap laptop that don't have mic output.
What is the mic you own? Technically you can send your mic to your stream pc through other means. The capture card takes the audio from your game PC, but if you dont have it so you can hear yourself talk on your game pc you're not gonna hear it in the capture card. 4. quick ideas: 1. Open OBS on the game PC and apply a dedicated NDI filter to the mic. Then add a "NDI Source" on your stream PC obs and it'll be there. 2. Get NewTek NDI and just capture your audio from the "scan converter" app that comes with it. Just send that audio over like step 1 and capture it like step 1. 3. If your mic has a headphone port on it, ug a 3.5mm cable to 3.5mm cable into it and then into you laptops mic input. 4.if no mic input on your stream PC, plug it in via USB and run the same 3.5mm cable from your mic to your GAME pcs mic input.
@@Activater thanks for the answer! I have a cheap head mic and headphones without mic. I've been searching and maybe found a way out. I've tried NDI before and work for a while but after was making weird noises, I thought it was the internet. My connection sometimes it is not stable enough. So I dropped it. Now I bought a cheap Y audio cable for the laptop put my mic in one output and a headphone without mic in the other. I haven't tested yet, but it might work. I've tried plugin only the mic on the laptop's p2 output and it worked but the volume was too low. I'm trying to fix it. If you have some ideas to fix it I'd appreciate to know.
I was unable to get a phone to work but that might just be my phone as it doesn't have a native adapter to send out an HDMI signal. Also, i was unable to plug another device into my phone and have it captured on my phone.
Okay, so I looked up your device here. This thing takes multiple inputs for any hdmi source. I dont really know how it all connects with OBS, but I assume its inherent over usb or you need this capture card to connect the hdmi cable from the hdmi output to the hdmi capture card thats plugged into your pc.

Like, plugging your console into your computer with a splitter? Or do you mean trying to plug this capture card into a console to plug something else into your console? I dont believe itll work being plugged into your console. However, if you're talking about using a splitter and this to connect to your pc, I could do that video.
At 4:50 , you said you made a tutorial on how to stream games with that capture card (I know you said it isn't the best idea, but it's for more of a strategy game so it would be fine.) I can't find that video, can you link it in the replies please?
This is a video that covers capturing your console and playing from your OBS preview monitor. Not the best for FPS type games as there a few milliseconds delay with your movments. Check out the video here! ruclips.net/video/I1lEqVGFqtw/видео.html
40ms is pretty high. However, if you wanted to play a competitive shooter type game off of it, a splitter to a secondary monitor or tv is the way to go.
If it has hdmi, yes! However, consider if the camera can remove its onscreen overlays. I would get it plus the correct hdmi cable for it and plug it into a TV to look at it. If you can't hide the menus and what not, then use this capture card if you're happy with it!
Hmm, try other ports as well as maybe test a USB extension cable or another PC if you have it. It may have failed, but it's hard to tell. Worst case, hopefully it was cheap and you can get a new one or return this one if its still within the refund /return time.
The audio for the device being plugged into the capture card? My mic is a separate source for my PC. If you're struggling to get audio to connect inside of OBS, make sure you check this: prnt.sc/tgu4lw
I don't know what Im doing wrong, i followed all the directions but the video stays black no matter what. Im getting discouraged seeing how automatic it should be, are there any recommendations for things I should try before i give up and return this thing?
Have you tried using a USB cable to plug it into your PC? I assume you plugged it in directly? I've been hearing issues of the device for SOME reason overheating and then it's just a black screen. Also, maybe test a secondary device plugged into it PLUS try another PC if you have one! :D
I've figured it out, turns out my usb port is incompatible with any sort of capture card?? I was able to hook it up to my tablet instead using sn otg cable I had though, so it works out! Thank you for your help, I'll keep it in mind for future issues i might have!
I don't understand why the Micro HDMI Type D to HDMI to Mini Display Port cable and adapter don't work for video playback and/or streaming on the iMac.
What adapter? The capture card? Also, im not 100% sure but some signals can't be converted that easily. If you're using this little capture card, it should just be micro hdmi from your camera to hdmi with this capture card.
I haven't had a problem while using an extension. However, others without the extension have been having some weird issues every now any then. Maybe I'll sacrifice my card and test that.
Thank you for your video! I’ve bought both the capture card and the hdmi splitter you use in the video. Could you try to explain to me and help out with this hookup? I think I have it right, but the video capture video isn’t showing. The PS4 is showing on my tv through the splitter so I’m not sure why the VCC isn’t..
I got everything setup but where would I plug my mic into the computer or Xbox? And if I do have to plug it into the computer how would my part chat hear me?
oof, I thought I answered this. I generally plug my console mic into my console, and have a separate mic for my PC. Also, I end up sending the audio from party chat to my pc by setting the console to send the audio over speakers rather than headset. I made this video recently if you need help with your xbox: ruclips.net/video/EjUQbjkVwN0/видео.html
I have not tried this with a firestick. However, as long as the source you are plugging into the capture card is and HDMI source, you should be fine. I think the firestick is an HDMI device right?
You need a mic to capture yourself. most headsets don't play your voice to your speakers/headphones. You'll need a separate mic on your PC to capture your audio. The party chat can be captured by sending your party audio to your "speakers" in your console settings.
I use a variety of cards. Avermedia extremecap u3 for the facecam Elgato hd60 pro for alt cams Avermedia live gamer 4k for desktop from my game pc. Now I use this thing for alternative cameras too.

so do you need an extension cable? Just want to make sure just in case I decide to purchase this
I would suggest the USB extension. I've heard issues with it directly plugged in, but also, the extension would save you from potentially breaking it while its sticking out of your pc.
@@Activater alright, thank you
Thanks for this, I struggled through some retro games with all the input lag and thought I had just lost the skills for them lol Grabbed the hdmi splitter you recommended, can't wait to try it out
It makes a huge difference. I played in the TV back in the day that had a slow response time. I couldn't figure out why i all of a sudden sucked. That delay is a killer for fps games. Once I switch to a low latency screen, I was golden again.
@@Activater I got it today and it worked perfectly. Thank you for the video!! The only issue now is cleaning up my setup haha
The cutscenes were smooth but not the gameplay?
Serious energy . Love your posts.
im from the phillipines sir do you have a video with the splitter and how to connenct it? my camera is delay too i want to see if it is true that not delay with the splitter thank you sir!
I don't really have a video specifically on a splitter, but I can make one. :) Stay tuned!
Its been a chilly couple days. However, I also wear this stuff for style reasons. I'm not a huge fan of wearing just a t-shirt. I like jackets. Lol
Yo your camera and lighting are fire bro!!!
You're a champion. Thanks buddy.
Does any HDMI splitter work. Also does it come with an extension cable
Yes any splitter should work. And no it does not come with a extension cable.
It does not come with an extension. Some do, but those usb cable extensions are super cheap too.
Any splitter will be just fine.
Why do you only have 6k subs. This was some 1M sub count quality. Bro nice work.
Hey, thanks man. I just appreciate quality videos so why not make them. :)
Considering the fact that there has to be a decent camera that you're using, the quality of your content is great for under 10K subscribers.
This made my morning. Thanks for this comment! The camera I use is a Sony a7S as well as a Lumix G7 for the close up shots.
Hi, I've own this, but no luck getting it working with my DSLR, just getting a bunch of colored no television signal

What camera did you use to make this video very clean
Hey! Thanks for watching man! Check out my camera and most of my gear here: kit.co/Activater
How do you fix the audio delay for the people who are watching you?
Audio for your mic or the game audio?
For mic, you could always add a delay as a filter for the audio source that is too early compared to your video or a video delay if your audio is too late.
For game: it should be in sync with the video, if not, try above.
There are delays and audio issues. But there are fixes for the audio so the only remaining issue is the delays. It is especially bothersome on games which requires swift movement.
Yeah, this card is pretty rough for people that want to game from their OBS program. A splitter sending the hdmi video to your monitor is the way to go for raw instant gameplay
I'm not noticing a lot of gameplay delay but more audio delay, how did you fix that? Did you use the HDMI splitter?
@@Mace604 I didn't encounter that. Maybe try the settings for advance audio.
@@Activater thanks man. Will definitely try to adjust when I get off work. Appreciate the advice. :)

Hey dude, I made an old video on this: ruclips.net/video/vbMqICGA-sw/видео.html
i have the same capture card but its not working with my sony a6500 , any idea why could this be?
Hmm, have you tested plugging your cam into a TV or monitor? Just to rule out the hdmi cable or camera settings.
Analytics shows that 20% of my suggested traffic about this same device is coming from this video, so I had to come take a look. Agree that this is great bang for the buck. Yes it has some delay, but like you said, a splitter will help. Nice review! Liked and subscribed!
Dang! That's rad information to know! As much as I helped you, seeing that statistic helped me! Thanks man! :D
Do you absolutely need an external power source on the HDMI splitter? Or does it work just fine without it? I was looking at a couple that don't actually have a slot for them like yours had a microUSB one. Just one HDMI slot on one end and two on the other.
With my experience, most that don't have power end up messing up the colors and sometimes the image gets SUPER funky looking.
@@Activater I see. That is good to know. Thank you for replying!
@@theshizlet1 no problem!
Yo. Just wondering. Can you just plug it into a USB on your PC then loop the HDMI cord to your graphics card?

Does hdmi ouput produce better quality that usb output?
Depends on thee source and capture card. Your not really replacing hdmi for usb. The USB is there so you can capture it to a PC. Some cards are basically 1 for 1 with quality coming from the hdmi.
Hdmi out of a device will be its best quality if thats what it offers.
This channel honestly is so great and super informative. Keep it up! Big future
Mad appreciate that comment. Thanks for watching AND commenting dude! Growth is always on my mind. ;)
What about the sound from the capture card? Would selecting the capture card under "custom audio device" turn the sound on from the capture card?? 🤔
Yes. Choose custom sound, then select the capture card and it should be good to go!
@Activater I heard you can also set up a whole new "audio input" source and select the capture card but that just seems more complicated, right?
I believe so. Not complicated though! Just add a "audio input device" and it may show there?
Hey man, so I was thinking about buying one of these. I want to dual PC stream on a budget because I already have 2 pc's. So would you recommend it for capturing signal from my Main PC and using an other output from my GPU for my monitor (display port). Already have the audio figured out with voicemeeter and was debating on this.
100% you should test it! I think you have a solid mindset on this. Give it a try! If you dont want to spend money, look into NDI. That'll transmit the signal over your ethernet cables.
@@Activater Nah, my internet is trash for ndi, already tried ndi and it was a stuttery mess. I'll look into this.

My settings haven't changed though so it's kinda odd, any suggestions?

I feel like if everything was in focus, your eyes would wander to what is in the background. I respect your opinion though. Just never heard it before.
I'm using the same cheapo HDMI capture.
I connected the laptop to PC monitor and the video is pinkish / purple now.
It was good the last time I used it connected laptop to smart TV.

2 options:
1.) get an hdmi splitter to send the hdmi to another tv or monitor
2.) play off of your OBS screen. (right click on preview screen and select "fullscreen preview" then the monitor you want to preview on) However, this method introduces a little delay to the gameplay from what you do with your controller. Like a half second.

Its comes from streaming. Haha, I probably should just flip it. It's only a few clicks away.... 🙄 regardless, thanks for watching! 😁
Jump cuts are useful because they aren't very noticable. The jump cuts being so noticable is part of why the show =3 didn't age very well. This automatic dolly thing you've got set up is a class case of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should", because it doesn't work with jump cuts at all.

@@Activater well how do I output my pc to the monitor?
As well?
If you're running HDMI from your pc to your monitor, you'd have to unplug the pc and plug in the split hdmi from your console
You could also get an hdmi switcher so you wouldn't have to do that manually.
I personally use display port from my Pc to my monitor to game on. Then, when I play console, I swap my monitor to the hdmi input which is from the splitter connected to my console/capture card.
I also use 2 monitors so I can control obs on the second monitor if needed.
Bro thanks because I’m starting to do RUclips and I bought all my stuff and found this video and the capture card is god like
Awesome man! Wish you luck! This card is great. Really nice to have for the money.
The splitter would help with the delay? I didnt get it
The splitter makes it so you're plugging directly into a monitor or TV for zero delay while the splitter is also sending the signal to the capture card. Playing off of the capture card on your PC will have a slight delay.
@@Activater Makes sense, thanks for the reply but unfortunately in my case i have to plug it on the pc
Its certainly fine for playing single player games. I played the last of us 1 on ps4 and it wasn't that bad at all. Hardly noticeable. However, with pvp shooters, you feel the delay.

My main facecam is a Sony a7s using an Avermedia Extremecap U3. The second testing cam is a Lumix G7. I also tested the cam on my other capture card and it had a delay for some reason. A fault of the camera mostly. However, the delay off of this USB capture card is not instant. I wouldn't recommend playing shooters like Call of Duty on it unless you split the connection to another tv/monitor to actually game on.

how to setup the mic? I have one in my game pc and the capture cad don't capture it. only the audio from the game. also can't use mic on my streaming pc. it is a crap laptop that don't have mic output.
What is the mic you own?
Technically you can send your mic to your stream pc through other means. The capture card takes the audio from your game PC, but if you dont have it so you can hear yourself talk on your game pc you're not gonna hear it in the capture card.
4. quick ideas:

How should I set this up for a laptop and monitor set up without connecting tv (monitor) to laptop
You'd need an hdmi splitter to send a signal to the laptop and the TV.
Can this be used to record your screen on your fire stick to make a tutorial video on on to work the stick
I have not tried this with a firestick. However, as long as the source you are plugging into the capture card is and HDMI source, you should be fine. I think the firestick is an HDMI device right?
Got a question, will this capture the party chat audio from both you and other members on ps4?
You need a mic to capture yourself. most headsets don't play your voice to your speakers/headphones. You'll need a separate mic on your PC to capture your audio.
The party chat can be captured by sending your party audio to your "speakers" in your console settings.
Do you know for the Nintendo switch, can I use a regular UBS cord to record to a lap top?
I dont believe you can. You need the switch dock and an hdmu cable plus capture card
I have an old Sony alpha Camera, will it work ?
Yes, 100%
This will work with PS4?
Absolutely! Any hdmi source will work!
So what are you using as the capture card?
I use a variety of cards.
Avermedia extremecap u3 for the facecam
Elgato hd60 pro for alt cams
Avermedia live gamer 4k for desktop from my game pc.
Now I use this thing for alternative cameras too.
