- Conjeevaram Natarajan Annadurai, popularly called Anna or Arignar Anna, was an Indian politician who served as 1st Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for 20 days in 1969 and fifth, and last Chief Minister of Madras from 1967 until 1969 when the name of the state of Madras was changed to Tamil Nadu.

வரலாறு தெரியாமல் வாய்க்கு வந்த அளவிற்கு பேச வேண்டாம்.... தென் மாவடங்களில் காட்டு கருவேலம் விதை தூவிய பெருமை கமராஜரையே சேரும்.... அப்பொழுது அவர் செய்வதை திமுக, பசும்பொன் முத்துராமலிங்கம் போன்றோர் கடுமையாக எதிர்த்தனர்.... இது அந்த மக்களுக்கு தற்காலிக தீர்வாக அமையலாம் நிலத்தடி நீர் மிகவும் பாதிக்கப்படும் என்று எவ்வளவோ சொல்லியும் கேட்காமல் காட்டு கருவ மரம் விதையை தூவினார்....

When Arignar Anna Dorai was asked by some people to tell a sentence which all words ends with 'tion' he said spontaneously 'Population is the botheration of our nation who's occupation is cultivation .

I came to know(not full details) that during DK-DMK split time, (due to Periyar's marriage idea with 50 years age-gap), Annathurai filed a Court Case against Periyar claiming monetary Damages/compensation for spoiling his reputation by Periyar, accusing Anna as plnning to kill him(Periyar) and both appeared in Court in that case. Anybody knows full details about the Court case??? as the video title says SVARASAYA THAGAVALGAL.

Annathurai was NOT a literary figure. His area was film dialogue-writing and public speeches. DMK party very clearly understood at the earliest stage itself that reading habit among the Tamil people was less and people were interested only in visual media or emotional songs. Further literacy rate was also less. So they took this to their advantage through films. Now also it continues. Every political party tries to have a TV channel. To cite the example of power of cinema I tell the following. Kattabommu requested by PETITION to the East India Company Governor at Madras to dismiss the Company Collector Jackson and so they dismissed Jackson and sent him to London terminating his contract and appointed one Lushington in Jackson's place as Collector as per Bommu's request. Dismissed Jackson filed a case against the Company in London for compensation. But in Kattabommu cinema so many dialogues of Bommu with Jackson. Bommu was a good Tax-collecting person from the public(by beating or by smiling) for the East India Company. His collection was helpful to the Company's growth in Tirunelveli area. Similarly, there was actually a Nandanar (Shiva devotee) Nandanar himself owned lands and he was called THIRUNAALAIP POOVAAR (going to various Shiva temples to see or arrange or celebrate Shiva festivals) He was not a servant to any Landlord. In the Sekkizhar's actual Thiruth Thondar Puraanam, Nandanar has no Landlord and he himself was a landlord and he donated to Shiva temples and went on tour to various Shiva temples. But for Drama/Cinema purpose, box-office collection, a Villian (Brahmin Iyer was purposely created as Nandanar's Landlord since the community would not agitate and Brahmin-baiting is a saleable item, so that people can enjoy the Drama/Film and the Brahmin atrocity?? committed on Nandanar and pity on Nandanar which will enhance film collection). But in the NANDANAR CINEMA the story is twisted with a Brahmin villian. Even the Child rapist-killer Billa Ranga is also a Hero in Cinema. If we Tamil people learn things through Cinema and from Public speeches nobody can save us.
