    Hey Cassiy. I love your videos. They have been so helpful, as I started my own Etsy store in January 2023. Would you make a short video of how you do your sections? I am all about the small details, so here are some questions:
    Do you organize them alphabetically or change them after each season?
    Does it matter if you use big or small letters? What do you recommend?
    Do you sort after holidays or other nitches?
    Do you have more than one niche in one section, and how do you organize?
    Can you have a listing in several sections? (ex; "Irish mom" could work in both of these sections: Mothers day section and St. Patricks Day section)
    How does the name of the sections affect the SEO?
    Other relatable questions:
    How do you show several listings from one section as a group on your front page?
    And how do you make featured items in your store?
    Hope you see this message, and if not, I'll still be your fan all the way from Norway :) Wish you a great day!

    I'm just soaking all this in...I'm just getting SO pumped the more I watch. I do have a question though...in one of your videos you mentioned you had a design that really took off and then not long after, there were many others copying that. Have you personally trademarked any of your designs? And what about if it becomes trademarked, let's say a year after you made a shirt with that quote, do you then have to take that down from your shop?

    Hey Cassiy thank you, you are a gem 💛 I have two questions.
    1. When I made my first listing with printify on Etsy. I noticed it duplicated the listing with Printifys mockups(if that makes sense) is that normal? I deactivated the listing with the printifys mockups....
    2. Would you be able to do a video on showing how to do pocket and sleeve designs and how to use those with printify? Those are hot sellers too.
    Thank you💛

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  Год назад +2

      I’m not sure exactly what you mean with your first question. Just to be clear, you should be doing the following
      1. Add your design to the item you want to sell on Printify then publish to Etsy
      2. Delete Printifys mock-ups and add your own
      3. Finalize the listing by filling the title/tags/description out
      Hope that helps but I do have my full 9 module mini course for free in the description of this video if you want to follow along all the beginning steps to make sure it all makes sense!
      I don’t think they really have any items you can offer sleeve prints with but I will consider doing a pocket design shirt video but I’d compare to where other shirts have them online and try to line yours up to the same spot on the shirt.

    HI. Love your videos. When researching I see a lot of sellers selling their t shirts as low as $9.99. I cant figure out how they can make a profit at this price. Just wondering if you had a clue.

    • @luxurycardstore
      @luxurycardstore Год назад

      They aren't making a profit at that price point. It's called a loss leader. At best they might break even, but are probably taking a loss just to get you into their shop. Most people will see that price and will be at the very least curious enough to click on that listing to take a peek rather than scroll past it. Once you are in their shop they at least have a chance to make a sale, but if you had kept scrolling it would be as if they don't exist.
      It's the same reason Costco gives out food samples. Those samples cost money, but they are willing to take the risk of a small loss in order to get a big win.
      Now don't get me wrong there could also be another factor at work here that has nothing to do with all of what I just wrote. There are also some people who are just not confident enough to price their shirts appropriately based on the value of their effort. There is no way to know for certain just exactly what is going on with that listing unless you outright ask the shop owner. If you do ask them there is no guarantee that they will answer you and even if they answer you there is no guarantee that they are telling you the truth. Either way I don't let it concern me unless ALL of the listings are priced like that (then that really would be a problem) That's why I stay focused and don't worry about what we cannot control. Happy selling!

    Cassiy what about seo? Can u do ALLLLLLL the same tags and keywords the same for multiple LISTINGS in the SAME niche (with tiny tweaks of course for each design) .example if you made here 20 lake themed shirts can u use the exact same tags, keywords and description? Mostly can u have those 20 shirts with the EXACT "TITLE"..minus tweak for that particular design?...or does etsy not allow this. If ur making 20 shirts and have to come up with 20 completely DIFFERENT titles that would take u forever...this is a really big roadblock for me...maybe others too.

    • @TheRiddlePanda

      As long as you're not copying someone else's thumbnail, seo, title, description etc.. word for word then your can do what you want with your own products. If you want you could even take those same 20 products and copy them again and tweak the title, seo, or thumbnail and see if that version works better.

I've spent a lot of money on mockups I can't use because they're not straight or the fabric is wrinkled slightly so the design doesn't look like it's really on the shirt.

Then I make the design and I send them a proof to make sure they love it before I send it to production. Then I make a new listing in Printify and fulfill their order in my “other orders” tab. I recently saw a video by another creator on RUclips wherein they said that any Etsy seller you see selling tees on Etsy for less than $20 like the ones seen in the video are actually losing money even before running Ads and going into 2023 as we can see almost all POD platforms are raising prices many times a year. In this case, what is the price per t-shirt do you suggest we have to be profitable and competitive such that we get at least $5 profit per item? May I know the price range you sell your t-shirts in? • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  Год назад +1

      You won't be using your rewards card with Etsy so just add your bank account info on there. You will add your rewards card to Printify since Printify is the one that will be charging you the price of the items and the price of the shipping.
      So essentially here is how it works
      $24.99 shirt for sale on Etsy
      Customers buys it and Etsy takes their fees out of the sale (typically 10%-12%)
      You Pay Printify the cost of the shirt + cost of the shipping
      Then Etsy pays you what the customer paid, minus their Etsy fees.
      Then you get to keep the difference! This makes you the middle man for payments. Hope that helps!

    Hi Cassiy! I’m wanting to get started with POD but I keep putting it off because I am worried about the money flow at the beginning. How much money do you recommend starting with to account for the cost of the shirts (before you start getting paid by Etsy for the orders)? Is it a bad idea to get started before you have this money? Thanks in advance 😊

    • @Redrover14
      @Redrover14 Год назад +2

      I personally have a credit card attached to my Printify account so it will charge that card when I fulfill the order, and then once I have the funds from Etsy added to my bank account, I will then pay off the credit card. So technically, you don't really need a lot of money to start when it comes to making sales with POD, because the funds you receive should cover the costs of the shirt itself if you price your items right! You will have to invest some money though for Mockups, Size Charts, and subscriptions for your research tools and design software. For me, I invested about $200 for those things to start, which is not a whole lot when it comes to starting a business. And of course as you get more experience you will eventually reinvest in more mockups!

    • @CassiyJohnson

      Hey totally get this but you need to click on listings, go into their variations and actually see how they are pricing their items. They usually only have one item at that lower price and charge $5-$7 for shipping. So they are usually charging a lot closer to you than you think. It’s called a low display price. Check out my video titled “how to compete” and it will explain it in more details and give examples!

      @CassiyJohnson  Год назад

      I know my first 100 designs weren’t actually very good so it could be that you just need to keep making new designs in niches like this that are currently trending! And it’s not enough for it to just be unique, it should also be based a little on what people like design wise, like a popular font, color palette or layout! You want to take what’s trendy and then make that unique if that makes sense. It gets easier with time and practice. I’d set a goal of getting to 500 listings. I know that sounds like a lot but that will give you enough time to test, learn repeat so you can understand what people actually like better and then make more of that! Don’t give up, it’s worth it and you can do this!
