20 Minute Yoga for Core Strength
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 мар 2016
- Today's yoga video is a 20 minute yoga sequence for core strength. This is the video you'll want to do to help build strength for poses like handstand, and other inversions. Building solid abdominal strength is also excellent for helping to prevent back pain, so I always recommend core strengthening for people dealing with back issues. As always, move with intention and avoid pain. Take rests as needed and always listen to you body.

Thanks! Exactly what I wanted to practice today!
So glad to hear it, thanks for practicing with me!
It/s official! Because of you I'm officially a yogi!
+Savannah Schiaveto Damn right! Get it!
Thank you so much!
You're so welcome!
Thank you for your practice.
New Year's Resolution #1--to be able to make it through this session without having to pause and take a knee. These are so challenging and inspiring. Respect and gratitiude...and happy holidays!
Great practice!
Thanks!
Love it! It's the perfect length for me - just when I thought I couldn't do any more it was time for savasana : ) I'm going to make it a regular part of my yoga practice. Thank you Candace
After 100 sit ups this was burning my core and shaking my body. But now I feel great... then added 20 min flow with upper body & strength.
This used to be so intense for me but I have added it to my regular practice and it is amazing how how this now feels easy to me compared to how challenging it used to be! Thanks Candace! ❤
YES! Love that! Great work - it means you've built up major strength!
Short and Ohh so sweet! I love the way you make each move different than the "norm" and quickly move into the next resting stretch-- all while encouraging me into the next move-- just in time before I give in and rest on my own. Great video to remain in touch with my intentions for a joyful practice.
+Michelle Sweeney Thanks so much for the feedback, Michelle!
Love this one! I will be adding it to my regular work out schedule next month. Thank you!
+Carrie Bergen-Geisel
Awesome feeling:)
So glad!
Thank you. I love you as my teacher, so happy I found you. Only practice with you now. You know what you remind me of?...You remind me of a soft summer breeze early in the morning on the shore of the ocean, when the water is so calm, that you only hear seagulls and a softest sound of a small wave. When you take a breath and feel peace.....Yep, that's you girl :) Thanx again. G-d Bless you.
+Paulina Fatal
Will definately be doing this one regular! Challenging but the body will be thankful eventually.... :)
Thank you so much Candace for your videos. I practice with you most mornings! Stay Blessed...

You killed me, Candace. (In a good way though.) Amazing sequence - as always!
+Isabella Haha, sorry to have killed you, but I promise you'll thank me later - the strength is soooo good to have for the practice! :)
❤
Love this one! My friend Lauren and I are thankful for the extra core work laughing about drawing circles with a crayon. #snapfam xo
+Kristine Olson Hahaha did you say CRAY-ON or CRAN, tho, that's the most important question hahaha xo
+Yoga by Candace I say CRAN! Lol it just sounds right to me 😂 xo
Thanks for this practice i am so so wanting to be able to do a handstand i can do a headstand woohoo ;-) i will do this one regularly :-)
+Lucia Peralta thanks for that ;-) just checking it out woohoo
i have always adored the way "crayon" is said with (some) american accents - i was like "crane?" "cran.. maybe it's a special yoga thing i don't own?" "OHHH CRAYON!!!!" :D :D :D
+Jacqueline Marriott Hhahahha. CRAN - it sounds so ridiculous like that. I looooove doing different accents so who knows, maybe in the future I'll throw in the same words in different accents :)
Haha woo! I also loved your snap story about it - except I'm from Australia, not Britain :D You haven't done our accent yet on your snaps, have you? Maybe that could be up next :P :P :P
Hi Candace. Thanks for a great session. I Love your videos. Can you recommend any video for post workout stretching ?
Yes, try this: www.yogabycandace.com/blog/2018/6/15/pre-or-post-workout-yoga-stretch-cool-down-and-warm-up
@@yogabycandace Thanks Candace. That was perfect. I tried it and literally feel the rush of blood in legs. Never realized they used to get so tight a day after workout . :)
Really love this core training. When I practice crow pose, I can get up but after 5 sec my arms always give out. Any good yoga practice that can strengthen my arms and wrists?
+GetFitwithMindy While it's definitely an arm balance, I would say you use the arms and core equally (if not MORE core) - so I would continue to work on your core strength and upper body strength as well with flows like this: yogabycandace.com/blog/free-full-yoga-class-for-arm-balances
Thanks a lot!
Hopefully a couple of these and I won't hate my stomach so much haha
Don't hate your stomach, girlfran! Treat yourself with lots of love!
I loved this video! It was challenging but not too hard. Although I am wondering whether I'm doing something wrong in boat pose. I feel more burn in my inner thighs/hip area than in my core. Can it be that I'm doing something wrong, or might this mean that this area is just not strong enough (yet)? Thanks for a great practice, Candace!
+Yvonne Broeks No, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Boat pose also works the hip flexors which is right around the area you're describing. Keep practicing and I bet with time you won't feel that area burn anymore :)
Hi Candace. It's another beautiful day and sending positive vibes from GA. One question, how many hours or how many sequences can I do every day. I already to the 15 min wake up sequence, and 20 min yoga for core strength, this one. Would it be too much to add another sequence? What do you recommend? Thank :)
Hi there! You can do an hour and a half a day I'd say ;)
Thank youuu!
that was a little to hard for me, I think I will look at ur other videos for a easier one.
Hi Candice. are you on Facebook ??? I couldn't find you
Yep! facebook.com/yogabycandace :)
Love your vids, but your last few videos have been filmed way too far away! Zoom in and improve your viewers ability to follow the subtle movements. Thanks and good luck w/the new book!
+Rob Sycamore Thanks for the feedback, Rob. I think if I zoom in, though, it'll cut off my arms/legs when I begin to move in flows (though for this video, it could've worked since it was just core stuff). I may need to invest in another camera for a second angle. Thanks again for the feedback, I appreciate it.
Yep, that's just what I was thinking. Either a second cam, or maybe just a head on shot...not sure it would work, but in my brain that seems to have potential! Keep up the great work; it's appreciated!
The workout part of this video is great, but unfortunately the first 3 min and last 7 (?!) of a 20 minute video are savasana. It just doesn't make it worth the yoga part. I did enjoy the strength section though.
Hey Abigail - If you go to any yoga class at a studio, you will see that they always start with a guided centering at the beginning of class and a long savasana (sometimes 10 - 15 minutes long). Both are considered vital to the yoga practice, and are indeed yoga. I think you're confusing asana (postures) with yoga. The asana (poses/postures) are PART of yoga, but yoga also includes pranayama (breathing) and meditation (what you see at the beginning and end of this video).
Apologies. Absolutely, I’m familiar with a 1.5 hour class format and please excuse me for focusing on the ‘yoga part’. I just meant, in more layman terms, the more active vs reflective part of the practice (I’m not an instructor, just someone who enjoys it). But sometimes when you’ve only got 20 minutes, it’s nice to be a bit more focused on the asana (I'll try my best to use proper names, but again that's what instructors are usually so kind at guiding us through). I’m not discounting the pranayama and meditation, just mentioning shortening it as another way to approach a very short session. Thanks!
too slow, too many explanations. we love candice, but if the title is 'for core strength' then the assumption is that people already get it
+Tom Sanderson Sorry to hear you felt this way. -Candace
Talks too much.
Thanks for the feedback
