Had a lot of reflections in those 5 mins. Say, How much i shoulda vacuumed my floor......

I love when you say, "We're going to be in this pose for 5 minutes" you stay in that pose for *five whole minutes* and not just edit to the next pose. It drives me so bonkers when I somehow am expected to stay in a pose for 5 minutes but the instructor has decided, "I'm going to cut my video so you can do 5 minutes by yourself and expect to remember the next move." Thank you for making it like a real class! I can really be in a "class" at home!

yeah most people dont try to follow the video tutorials on youtube. This is often why the comments are so positive with people who have not performed the exercises

yessss, this a big pet peeve of mine. when an instructor says something like stay here for 5 minutes, or stay "as long as you like", but then moves onto the net pose as i'm on the floor on my mat in a posture. so i either have to cut the pose short, or interrupt it to get up and pause the video, or ignore the continuing video as i complete the time for the posture. too many instructors are not conscious of the practical logistics of a real person being on the mat doing the work as the video plays.

Thank you for making this work for the least flexible person. A lot of other yoga tutorials assume everybody watching can do all the poses with the most flexibility needed without making them adaptive for us flexibility-challenged folks. Thanks!

You may enjoy the most recent video on hamstring flexibility - I tried to incorporate props and show the various ways those who are super tight can use them to help open up through the hips. Hope you enjoy!

I agree with some of the other comments, I really appreciate the full savasana you go through. It makes me go through it instead of skipping it or cutting it too short, also then I am not bombarded with RUclips commercials or into the next video (which I can't stand that RUclips does that even if you turn off said feature) thus taking away from the peace because I have to race for the pause button. Many thanks!

I love your no-nonsense attitude so much! In many yoga practices, instructer is like a furry ball of positiveness and talks nonstop during the pratice. I do yoga but I struggle through it. And also you showing modifications are real good because I’m overweight and can’t do most of the moves completely as they are shown. I love you!

I'm SO glad to hear this feedback, Ceren!! Thank you so much for sharing. I do try really hard to make my yoga practices as inclusive as possible - I think many people forget yoga is for EVERY. BODY. Period, end of story. But not every body is able to do all the poses as they are, so we've got to show modifications if we want it to be accessible to all! Thanks again for practicing with m!!

Today was the first day i have tried a full yoga instruction not based on some poses i through together to help with my sciatica. Your calmness is what made it easy to participate, and you did in 20 min what 2 years of physical therapy couldn't. You relaxed my muscles to the point where the lack of tention made me cry (happy tears). Thank you so much.

Yoga by Candace has introduced me to yoga. It is now a normal part of my week and makes a tremendous difference in the way my body feels, relieving tightness and relieving the pain in muscles from working out and helping with overall flexibility and with flexibility with stiff, sore, arthritic joints. Remarkably Yoga practice lessens the pain from arthritis in the joints. Thank you Candace for your positive and quiet nature and approach. And for your encouraging manner and gentle teaching. :)

Thanks so much for the kind words - and I recognize your name - thank you for supporting me and buying a Mantra Box® ! I hope it finally arrived to you all the way where you live (not going to say publicly here, but you should've seen my face when we saw your order come in!!). Yoga helps with arthritis because joints get sticky when it's cold and they can't move as easily. Stiffness sets in and the thing that helps combat that is movement and warmth. :)

      @paullomax574 3 года назад

@@yogabycandace I received my mantra box! and thank you very much for that and your comment above. Fun that you get a kick out of my location. I'm new to this neck of the woods. I spent nearly my whole life in the North East. It certainly was pretty big news leaving a school I taught at for 29 years to come here. So I do understand if you had a surprise reaction to the request fro a mantra box to be sent here. I'm enjoying the items in the box and have shared the more feminine ones with a student and a colleague. My yoga practice is growing :) and as I say, your teaching and routines are helping it to.Thank you :)

Takeaways from today's practice with this video (after some light cardio, because today is just one of those days where I don't have the energy to go all out, as far as my total beginnership even goes all out):
    1. Yeah... if you start strength training again and are in pain, male sure to use videos like this - it feels so good!
    2. Don't overdo it - remember, Candace says to feel a goor strerch but stay in a pain-free range.
    3. Noticed today that I sometimes forget to breathe (beginner...) - once I do, I can stretch so much better!
    4. The baby that I held two days ago is much cuter than my leg. But of course, my leg is lovely, too!

I suffer from epilepsy and often have partial seizures that make my legs tense and cramp while I remain conscious. I found this video after frantically googling stretches for tight legs in my desperation for relief during a seizure in my legs & hips this morning, and let me just say: if a simple yoga stretch can stop a seizure, it works!!! I don’t do yoga often but I’m glad I did this morning. I’ll be saving this video to access during future seizures. Thank you Candace!

My first attempt at any type of yoga. I am having terrible lower back pain and have been wanting find a home starting point to begin my new yoga journey. I admit I'm in poor shape and I could not accomplish most of the first 11 mins, though I can see how with some perseverance this lesson alone could be life changing. I'm not sure if there is a better place to start that would ease my back pain and build toward this lesson, but I love your approach, calm voice, clear for forward direction and overall presentation. I'll continue to do my best until I can find a better starting point and some much needed relief. ☺

    • @yogabycandace

The biggest tip I have for flexibility is consistency. You don't have to do a whole 60 min class each time, even just 5 min every day will be helpful. You might want to read this: yogabycandace.com/blog/2013/9/30/how-to-improve-flexibility-with-yoga and maybe follow along to this: yogabycandace.com/blog/yoga-progress-flexibility

Just did the 20 mins yoga and feel such benefit after it. Having the 5 mins at the end when you tell us time is up was great. It ensured i did the pose for this time which is what I needed 😀☘️

it's not something you want to do before a run but after. you shouldn't do static stretches before a run.

You can't imagine how grateful I feel for this. My hips and legs are really tight and I've tried looking for videos that help me with this, I only found you tubers who did everything so fast and I didn't feel like I was making any progress with that rush, I felt stressed and pressured. So your videos are awesome, keep the good work!

Thanks so much for this!! I was exactly two of the things you said that would cause this, I'm a runner and someone that sits at a desk most of the day (School, and Homework plus some games) But these stretches really worked! My grandma said that she tore her grind doing a yoga pose called pigeon when she had relaxed she tore her grind. But you actually told me that if you hip is tight then you might not be able to put your knee all the way to the floor! I also felt like you might cut the 5 minutes out but you didn't , it was like a real yoga class!!! :D Thanks so much.
